Just picked these guys up myself and was looking for some inspirations. These look fantastic, so nice to see some good looking lizardmen deviating from the normal blues and greens for the scales, great work!
Wow. This is the first natural toned saurian paintjob I've liked. I love the transitions and stripes. Subtle and effective. I've done all my lizards with creamy underbelly. My Geckos are a warm orange yellow while my saurians are a greyish blue transition, and then on their highest bits and horns, scale-tips etc, I used a purple. This was modeled on a lot of colorful lizard pictures I found online. Bright colors usually transitioned to darker colors on top. It turned out pretty good. If I make a second force, I'll try this pains scheme so I have two different factions! Thanks for sharing this and for all you do!
Cheers J! They sound awesome! They would contrast really well with each other too. There are so many amazingly coloured lizards out there it's hard to know where to start some times!
@@AshandStoneNZ Have you seen the new Saurian Starhost models? They are pretty awesome. Also a big fan of the Robot Legions. If you're looking for some really detailed sculpts, Archvillian Games is crazy good. Their "Speak of the Devil: Act 1" is my favorite set of models ever.
Im doing the entire OPR Saurian line and I think Ill do this on the gators (and that big dread gator) to make them stand out from the other brightly colored lizards
Nice! Yeah, the gators look good like this. I did mine with a dark green instead of the brown under the black to make them a little different and they look mean. The big dread gator will look incredible.
Cheers Ed. Yeah, it's a tough one. My initial though is that a white armour would contrast really well with the dark backs, but would be kinda lost in the light underbelly. Maybe an Iraqui Sand base with a Soft or Dark Tone wash would make the armour stand out more. 🤔

I love the deathclaw vibe they give off
Oh wow, yeah they do have that look!
Great vid love the paint scheme you went with.
Cheers Grim! I realise Oathmark is probably more up your alley but I hope it's sparked some inspiration nonetheless!
@@AshandStoneNZ At this point I'm watching your channel more for the plot.
I'd love to steal this for my Saurian Starhost but I think those guys just have too much armor to really make it work.

@@AshandStoneNZ Or maybe I'll have to print some Saurians at some point. haha
very nice mate
Cheers Bradley. When are you getting yours painted?
@@AshandStoneNZ need a laugh emoji
They look great. I've never seen lizardmen of any sort with the black backs before, but it works really well.
Where are these models from btw?
Cheers Chris! These are 3D prints from One Page Rules: www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-saurian-warriors-148445
Thank you for this!
No worries! I hope it helps!
okay that was cool
Cheers Gabriel!
okay but make list of all the paints
They are all mentioned! If I just made a list it would be a blog post, not a RUclips video!

Your neutral earth tones bring down the goofy look of the models that I don't care for.
Cheers Joshua! I hope it's given you some ideas!
