  • This video shows how I installed a propane system in my tdi. Doesn’t mean the is how I recommend to do it , is just how i installed witch is not the best so don’t do it. This is only for test and purposes.
    I will remove the gas line outside the car and mounted in the frame from outside. That being said.

      I explained in my comments before, but I will answer your question, I use in one fuel tank 2.5gallons of propane. So I burn 5 gallons of propane in 2 fuel refills . All depends how wide you open the valve on the tank. I found out I don’t need much to get going , so I almost have it all the way closed and found the best results

Thay have system like 4th gen LPG for gasoline engine, use TPS, EGT and rpm trigger to calculate good time for open injectors. But now cost of it this set is about 3 times gasolnie 4th gen and not popular in cars, but so mutch truck use it.

    Stag in Europe literally do an ECU controlled version of this with one injector per intake runner, knock sensor and egt sensors to control how much lpg to add... Running things on lpg is common here my 330i has been running lpg for more then 100k miles now.
    Oh you can also get liquid lpg injection. No need for vapouriser, the lpg phase changes in the manifold and lowers intake temps

    Hi. It looks simple, but also complicated. You say, you got the kit and the evaporator-regulator was already set. My biggest concern: this system interferes with diesel system. Diesel mixture must be lets say 15:1 ratio. And if you add another same part of propane, then it's 15:2. Its way to rich. Unless a regulator must be set like 10-20 perc from it's normal capacity running lpg on other usual petrol engine. Knowing that diesel engines always run lean, that extra 10-20perc lpg would not make big difference in ratio. Watched video about nissan skyactic tech. That was some incredible engine efficienty.

    • @taco8v
      @taco8v  2 года назад

      This tdi’s man has the system all ready programmed in the ecu , if is reach you will notice in the acceleration , if is lean the ecu can also measure that and compensate. The injection pump can do that. That’s why it can save fuel because the ip cuts fuel back if is another source feeding the engine. Have you actually try it your self to see how it acts in you car?

    • @taco8v
      @taco8v  2 года назад

      Hey es you buy it you buy is for what cylinder engine you have. If you have a 4cyl car obviously you don’t buy the kit for a v8 because it sprays way more propane. Same as a grill have the regulator or stove. They regulate this for you car all ready. If they wouldn’t work you think they will have being in sales now a days? Call the company and ask them your concerns and tell them why they selling it if you think the this doesn’t works. But first try the kit in you car because complain.

    I got a wagon tdi that I wanna put on propane too. Mines all stock. Can you give an update on how this system is working for you? I found a place locally that has spare tire tanks and I really want to do this. Im using your video and a few others I’ve found to help plan it out.

      If you have a stock engine , they are all ready high impression and the more you add the more compression, if you don’t have arp studs to hold the head down with all that compression + propane and water meth you will only use you car for 1 or 2 full pull after that is gone. Otherwise you will drive as a grandma trying to not blew your head gasket and whats the point to have all that and you not able to used ? So the best is fix your engine by making it stronger. And you go from there. Don’t just add stuff. Just saying so you save money on top end. Now if you don’t care about the engine. Well add all what you want 🤷‍♂️

    • @philhans7437
      @philhans7437 3 года назад

      I definitely see what you are saying and thats exactly why I asked such a question. Seemed quite a bit suspicious to me that no one has gone this route for cheap tons of power but this makes sense. You must first do supporting mods and at that point your gonna do so much more other stuff and just end doing it the right way that you'd pass up the evry mod + lpg margins to begin with. Makes sense.

    • @taco8v

      @@philhans7437 i will stay away of evry mode. Look lpg adds like 50hp + and about 15 to 30hp on water meth idk about envry but this will dump tons of unmeasured fuel. If you want to play with lpg which i think is enough. You will feel the kick but thats it don’t mess with adding more. If you planning to add more and be safe. Right now you are on time. Buy the arp studs and change one by one in you car and retorque the head without removing it. Than you can play with more Remember stock rods don’t hold to much.
      But lpg and water meth and more boost will.
      With slightly bigger turbo. But please get the arp studs. Now if you get the rods. Well even better.

      We'll it's an investment to consider..
      my engine is fuel injected gasoline..
      It's a 22re 4cyl Toyota motor. No mods. Would like the ability to unbolt this or any other mod for horsepower that I put on.. Some
      Results for electric turbo with separate battery look good but can be expensive...
      On this hookup looks easier and takes less space under hood and may fit better. I will have to check budget... Would like to try this cause The said electric turbo kit that works best costs about $2k so that is not gonna happen..
      Heavier flywheel costs $400 plus clutch plus install ($500) and you can't take that back off.
      New bigger intake with labor and install IDK price but sounds expensive...
      Them there is this propane injection system. Sounds like a gamble.haven' seen it done in a gas motor to increase H.P. or mileage but might just give it a try..

      Ooh man I didn’t know you car was gasoline . In that case propane is not an option the company doesn’t recommend to install propane in gasoline cars because theres not much difference in power , only diesel they said . But theres a solution for you slow gasoline engine up hill Get a water-methanol kit that will help you a lot probably same as propane or better because spraying water methanol cleans the engine as well

      @farmer864 buddy i don’t understand your question! Are you concerned of what? Please start all over. I speak Spanish if it helps 🤷‍♂️.
      That being said. The car will built boost normally up to whatever boost you car can handle. The system won’t come on because it has a switch inside the car or whatever you have installed to send power to the boost switch. If that boost switch sees boost it won’t do anything if it doesn’t have power from the main switch. Hope this clears it.

      @taco8v  3 года назад +2

      @@farmer864 the car won’t run on straight propane no. I have tried that but not enough blow by from the regulator to cause that. I being testing in here and there. But so far is still working.
      If you turn the main switch the controls the power to the boost switch. The regulator never gonna release propane unless the boost switch send the signal and only if you have the switch on inside the car. You can adjust your boost pressure switch yes. To kick propane in at some different boost level. Like example only will spray propane at 20psi and up if you under 20 it doesn’t matter if you have the main switch on it won’t spray until it reaches 20psi and up.
      If you decelerated than you car won’t built boost and the boost switch will cut spraying. My personal boost set in the boost switch is 7psi because my foot is very light. But i will suggest to set it at 10psi and go from there. You will feel the kick.

    How long does your propane tank last

    • @taco8v
      @taco8v  3 года назад +1

      All depends how open is your regulator man is is really open maybe one week or month depending on how much you used and how much your regulator is. I have 15 pounds of propane and last me a tank and a half of fuel wich is around 1300 1400 miles in my car. But this is with the regulator valve really closed but i can open it up and just go 1 tank of fuel and 2 of propane but the power like this is amazing.
