You can manually unlock the trunk by removing the small cover from the inside of the trunk and flipping the lever inside (it might be covered by sound barrier)
Can't wait to see what you modify on this WJ. I assume it has 3:55 gears with a Dana 30/35. May be a mild 3 or 4" lift and a upgrade to a rear Dana 44a? I have the same 4.0L jeep and want to learn a bunch from you on this one! Which spark plugs to you recommend?
Yes it is non-trailer tow optioned so it only has the 3.55 gears unfortunately, but yes a little lift, some fresh wheels and tires and it should look like a new Jeep! I will be installing a fresh set of Mopar factory spark plugs (I believe are copper champion plugs but don't quote me until I get them pulled off the shelve at work) Thanks for the view!
Hey, I just picked up a blue '01 WJ laredo this summer! No motor, trans or transfer, but that's ok. I'm planning on turning it into an overland camper. There is a bunch of engine parts inside, so if you need something, let me know, and I'll see what I've got! I do have seats btw.
Hope it's not the dreaded heater core leak , will you be doing a dash removal video , lol. As soon as I replace the rear diff. on mine I will be replacing my heater core and blend doors and everything else in the hvoc box, because I'm only going to do this job 1 time. score on the Jeep, I would be happy to go from a prius to a jeep , but your wife probably misses her car already.
i noticed that when he starts the car the check engine light did not appear. I bought a 2001 jgc in 2019 and noticed my check engine light did not appear.apparently the person who sold it did not want to kill the sale if the light stood on.I bought it out of state [ohio] and along with other reasons i bought another cluster where all lights work. in ny state if the light is on during yearly inspections you will fail. if the light did not egnite when starting up it will never come on.
I believe you are totally correct I think somebody previously had pulled the bulb on that Jeep as I found a lot of questionable work that had been done at a previous shop. Thanks for the view!
I just bought my neighbors wj 2001 for 1000$ it runs but a little ruff, It has 210k and he’s 75 so it was never raced or anything. I hope I make my money back!

Nothing wrong with that! A few months ago I paid $400 for my 04 WJ after it sat for over a year. And now $3500 later I have a far from perfect but clean and presentable daily driver lol.
Hey I love your videos!! What do you think of a 13 grand Cherokee v6 2wd? It has 106k and is a one owner with decent service hostory. What to look out for?
The 3.6L with the NAG 1 transmission is a pretty darn good drivetrain, we do see engine oil coolers leak from time to time and rockers arms go bad and start to make noise but once those are taken care of there really isn't much else, the NAG 1 transmission is also great, keep the fluid changed with a fresh filter and it should be happy, we do occasionally see transmission speed sensors fail and that is kind of costly to repair, but it is pretty rare.
