The reason why it feels punky is easy, the vocalist and guitarist use to be in a punk/post-hardcore band At The Drive-in. Gotta find their Jools Holland performance of One Armed Scissor.
Well...this was one of my favourite bands pre-Band-Maid. Actually, a prog-music reactor I followed because he did Mars Volta reactions did a Band-Maid reaction and that's how I found them! That's Thomas Pridgen on drums. He's the youngest person ever to get a full scholarship to Berklee, at 15. Mars Volta did Latin-tinged prog in the form of quite a few concept albums. These 3 minute tracks are pretty rare for them; this is them in basic mode lol. Their new album, though, is super chill and laid back, very very different. After the initial surprise at the dramatic change in their sound, I didn't find it too interesting, personally. I was never a big fan when Cedric went to high vocals live but the vocals work on their albums. I think his vocals were better suited to the band he and the lead guitarist were in previously, called At the Drive-In. In my opinion, the best post-hardcore band of all time. At the Drive-In's album "Relationship of Command" is an aggressive masterpiece and would probably still be my favourite rock album from the 2000s till today, if I hadn't heard Band-Maid. I've heard you mention post-hardcore in a lot of reactions. If you like the genre you need to hear "Relationship of Command". Small chance with how busy you are but maybe someone will request them. This was a cool surprise, nice request.
Theodore is amazing, and the best drummer they ever had... but that doesn't mean they didn't put out great stuff afterwards. Noctourniquet is a damn masterpiece.
Best introductory song for TMV!!! Pretty short and straightforward, but shows their craziness and complexity. Do more of them please!!

You need to react to at the drive in. Their first band. Legendary influential post punk band
I should have known you'd always scratch that itch
TMV is like a hard drug 💊💉✨
Cohead was inspired by these guys when they were At The Drive In
Man try with Goliath or roulette estés from dame concert of TMV
First two albums were amazing.. Jon theodore left and it all changed and not for the better. He just had more style and grace on rhe drums
This was Thomas Pridgen and he is phenomenal.
