If you have problem with diarrhea on your farm you could give them some diluted acid into the water. This would lower the pH of the chicken's gut and limit the growth of the bacteria. That's what we do on our farm.

Avoiding Pasty Butt is soooo easy. I dig out moist dirt from my vegetable garden as it is full of little worms, nematodes and all sorts of good bacteria. My chicks eat everything, including the dirt and they never have Pasty Butt. If you raise them in a sterile environment their gut does not contain the good bacteria which they would get if they were to scratch around in real moist dirt which is filled with good bacteria, nematodes, worms and other bugs.

Thermal heat is cheaper than electric heating; I would not advise using the 250W electric bulbs. You should consider an innovation made from a solar water heater linked to hot water tank. I think you need hot air at no more than 40 degrees so the stored hot water should easily heat the poultry house.
