Rainhill Rocket 190 Procession

On 26 May 2019 Rainhill celebrated the 190th anniversary of the Locomotive Trials of 1829. Many events took place over the weekend but the main event was a procession of village groups, traction engines, a steam locomotive classic buses and cars and the Rocket replica from the National Railway Museum at York.

That is the works whistle from the huge BICC cables factory at Prescot. Now sadly all gone and replaced by housing.

Later in the Future in 2219 it might be Maglev hovercars like the " Jetsons'" cartoon. Plus even later it will be 3d holograms. So, hello Future. Are you still there? Is there a Rocket on the moon, and even Mars, and Alpha Centauri. Plus with respect to railfans from all times, there are spaceship fans that include the TARDIS from the Doctor Who TV show on BBC. Plus sports fans for English football like Manchester United, while we Americans have the National Football League, and the Green Bay Packers the Original Super Bowl championship team from 1967.
