So folks don't think I'm crazy. My comments are from the perspective of what MICH needs to/should do to compete better vs big time CFB programs. This is IF you don't have Bama's 4 & 5 star OLmen & Heisman RBs... oh, plus the NFL-ready front 7. OSU fans, Haskins and his nearly 5k yds & ~50 TDs are an anomaly for Urban. JT Barrett avg'd ~800 yds on the ground & 11 rushing TDs per season. We know what Tebow did at Florida!
The difference is Ohio State just played at a level we didnt see all year. Im an OSU fan saying this. The O line kept Haskins clean and he picked your defense apart. The run blocking was great as well it finally came together. So it wasnt Michigan so much as it was Ohio State finding that last gear at the right time.
@TheBalls Exactly, the O line played to perfection. Where has that been all year? Who cares. They showed up when it counted. One false start on the first drive, then they were masterful.
No It was a combination of bad coaching by Michigan and good coaching by Ohio. Plus since our D line didn't get any pressure on Haskins he could just take his time and throw perfect passes.
I’m a lifelong Buckeye who remembers the 90’s and John Cooper. So my celebration is with humility. It always turns around. Plus in most days that 39 points would have won that game.
The major difference is 100k Michigan fans can hit soc med before the clock hits 00:00 to call for Harbaugh's job. Cooper went, what, 1-10-1 in the rivalry for a bad stretch... We can roast Harbaugh for his salary, question whether he can win the big game and gripe away. At the moment, there isn't a clear cut better option. The 39 pts was an improvement, so were the W's vs Wisc PSU & Sparty.
Ohio State is pretty much an SEC team in a northern conference. I watched Paris Campbell blow the doors off of Michigan's defense and was amazed at the difference in speed. Maybe that was a play where the defenders were severely winded but that was alarming.
Great commentary. I agree, not sure why Michigan was choosing to forgo the PAT early in the game. I don't think it really mattered to the outcome, but it was one of many factors.
Thanks for the the view and comment. I agree, in the big scheme of things, the failed 2-point conversion probably didn't factor into the game's outcome. The decision could've been perceived as Harbaugh being aggressive, making a call he wouldn't have made two years ago. I felt everything is magnified for this game though because he's yet to beat the main team he was hired to beat. I won't ramble on... I made another video a couple of weeks later when Texas jumped out to a good lead on the Sooners, and in a similar situation Riley opted for the PAT after a TD... They obviously bounced back and won their game. So, I obviously looked like a CFB genius. LOL Totally kidding!
That was Khabib vs mcgreggor and we was mcgreggor. Well, I don't think even he got beat this badly....... oh well, got to give props and respect to the Bucks. Came to play, better prepared, motivated, and superior talent and coaching. Go kick NW ass and lets see if you can get that #4 slot. Go Blue
Going into this game, I would have taken tOSU and the points... I also thought I would have lost, and lost hard. Long time Buckeye fan here, and maybe blinded by that love. The Buckeyes stepped up, and played their best game of the year. Tremendous respect to the Wolverines!! I fucking hate TTUN, but I respect them almost as much!
In a great rivalry, all things get thrown out the window. For us, like Urban said, it's a 365 day deal. We think about that game year round. I don't think Harbaugh creates that atmosphere. Good breakdown of what you saw tho!
I know the circumstances suck, but great stuff. You are straight and to the point, no excuses or beating around the bush. Will definitely check out more of your videos. Only thing I would disagree with is that Michigan DID do what got them here, and didn't adjust from that when it was clear it wasnt working. Not referring to Higdon, should have used him more....but it was clear they thought they would play smash mouth ball and wear OSU down over time. When they couldn't get any semblance of a run game going they just kept running into the pile over and over, wasting plays & possessions. Thought they would make major adjustments at half and they just didnt.
That's mainly talking about - they didn't let Higdon get into any rhythm. Suddenly it was like they believed Evans was gonna be the dynamic guy he was touted as being when he arrived. The other thing was 0, or few, designed QB runs. Frankly, it just seemed like there was no rhyme or reason to the offense. Appreciate the compliment!
It is going to be one long off season for Michigan...the only hope is that Chase can comp some tickets to the revenge tour which will be playing at Cedar Point after the Peanut and Friends show
Haskins was a drop back passer and stayed in the pocket for the most part and torched your ass. You can win like that if you have the personal. The Michigan defense had not played an explosive offense all season. That speed exposes them. Also Watson is trash. Haskins knew that and targeted his side almost 70% of the time.
I hit on this in my preview - OSU was the 3rd-ranked offense in the country. Also reason why OSU played checkers... They ID'ed Watson and exploited him constantly til they seized control of the game.
The 0 sacks was the most surprising part about it. The OL was the only offensive weakness of the buckeyes this year, but it seemed to show no issues in the game where I was thinking it would be most taxed.
Honestly, cuz, today represented the difference in talent I thought was there at the opening of the season. I never bought into Ohio State not having exceptional offensive pieces. But damn Paris can roll out!
When you're highly ranked, and get your ass kicked in the biggest game of the year on the brightest stage, nothing pierces your heart like 107000 people chanting OVER-RATED and you know that they're right ..
Hawkins Jr IS a true 5 step drop, pocket passer.... 11-1 record. With talent and good coaching, teams can still win big time games with pocket passing. UM and Harbaugh, can't beat THE Ohio State University...
You're right 💯... Yourself and the other dozen commenters. Maybe what's implied or missed is, I'm speaking on Michigan football with consideration to MICH's talent level. OSU fan is gonna sit here and act like JT didn't run the rock in critical situations? MICH has had an Ezekiel Elliott equivalent (in the last 15 yrs). Urban wasn't beating LSU Bama & UGA with Tebow in an offense with limiting throwing? Patterson didn't have key runs vs State, Sparty & Wisc? But now you're gonna drop back, with or without play action, in Columbus and beat the Buckeyes? MICH has 4- & 5-star guys across the OL like Bama every year? With a RB that gets invited to NYC Athletic Club almost yearly? I apologize for leaving out a few details - and not making a 30-45 minute clip.
Buckeye fan here but as a Big 10 fan, wanna see our best team represent. Like to see Michigan come back and be a factor, think you guys were a victim of getting over hyped, think you guys need some new blood on Coaching staff, change things up, still a great year.
You know, it matters when a team loses, and to who. MICH lost early to ND, and ran off 10 W's. Others lost, had to drop and MICH climbed the rankings. I can't chalk it up to over hype, but maybe the team started feeling itself.
@@PayMeNoMind Think nerves played a big part, Think of all the pressure that was on UM to win. Perfect storm unfortunately, it might take Urban retirement to get over the hump.
I honestly don't know why, seeing that we win every year, nothing made me believe differently. You can't use "eye test" or common opponents to make you think OSU won't leave it all in this game. It's not a coincidence that Michigan always has a "top defense" BEFORE they play OSU, because they don't play anybody else good all season. OSU hasn't had to get up for a game since Penn State, so naturally we played down to our competition. Definitely not surprised by this outcome.
@@buckeyesl5 had I heard you say 60 pts and multiple TD spread in OSU's favor, I wouldn't question you at all. These statements make folks feel dumb for tuning in week-to-week. If you know your ball, you know your ball and salute. But, how do you sneer at folks for watching the season unfold and basing their opinion of the outcome of MICH-OSU on what they've observed to that point, but then sum up your winner by only looking at either the all-time head-to-head W-L OR the MICH-OSU game from the year before. Solid seasons by both squads, great game for OSU.
Because OSU has won every year, they have the better QB & Coach, and had homefield. Michigan only had 1 real game all season and they lost it to Notre Dame. They hadn’t played anyone. I didn’t allow the whole “well Maryland almost won so we should win, or we beat penn state by more than OSU did, they lost to Purdue by 29” get to me, because it never matters. OSU can lose to by 31 to Iowa then beat Michigan by double digits in their house. Be real, Michigan fans had no real reasoning for why they would win besides “this year feels different”. Not disrespecting you because I enjoyed your analysis, I’m just speaking in general.
I think that two point conversion try before halftime was dumb especially since we handed them a gift and it seemed like that stuff energized OSU after a demoralizing special teams blunder.
Up 21-6, cruising at home, with all the momentum... not sure that equated to demoralizing. The quick stuff did seem like an instant reminder that the Buckeyes were better, even at facing adversity.
PMNM Good video you know the game. I am now a subscriber even tho we are rivals. Gotta ask, you got Dr. Strange powers? Looks like you had same finger scars:)
Shea Patterson was using as in running for his life. He got so nervous he was throwing the ball at wide outs feet. Shea is a competitor but pass rush was all over him. It doesnt matter what rb ran the ball the osu linebackers were waiting in the hole all day. I can go on but this team needs to be revamped from coaches and players. I'm a michigan and my roomate is a buckeye and I've had to stuffed something bad lol. Just imagine that!
As a buckeye fan I'm so confused if why UM doesn't want Shea to use his legs look at the Penn State game McSorley almost won the game because of his arm and legs that's what UM should've done
Jim Harbaugh, Michigan got too players that got hurt like the quarterback, etc michigan would have lost i hope Michigan new young quarterback is ready and work our young receivers it going to be different next year
Ive bena Michigan fan from Columbus Ohio half my life and truthfully I don't think the Wolverines will ever beat Ohio State it doesn't even seem like a rivalry anymore..Rawk!On Wolverines
I think that Denzel Washington said " The game is chess. It ain't checkers, you simple di** mother******". I may be mixing 2 quotes from the movie though. I agreed with a lot of what you said. I think that Michigan got behind early and being behind seemed to change their game plan much too early. However, even though Michigan was favored by 4, I plcked Ohio State to win by 21 points. For some reason, Michigan and their fans became drunk with #4 in the nation and #1 in defense and thought that being a 4 point favorite was a big thing. Every intagible stat went against them and Ohio State has lost only twice to Michigan since 2001. I understand your frustration and I wish you well. I just can't figure out why no one gave Ohio State a chance to win. Hundreds of analyst types pick these games and I notice only Shannon Sharpe say that Ohio State would win but he and Skip Bayless are paid to disagree in their show. Ohio State was 10-1, at home, only 4 point underdogs, and had maybe the Big Ten's best offense of all time statistically... and NO ONE gave them a chance. Warning flags should have been flying in Ann Arbor. Instead, we Buckeye fans got shredded by Michigan fans everywhere. I warned everyone all week long that the Higdon guarantee started something bad for them. The fans and media took it from there and made it worse. Still no warning flags while I was being told I was dumb, stupid, and that I know nothing about football. In my opinion, the Higdon guarantee (that was a reporter trick... was Higdon supposed to say no?) started a frenzy that made Michigan fans unable to even speak with. If you weren't talking about how awful Ohio State's defense was and expecting Michigan to win by 3 TD's, you were insulted by them. Well, I was. In the end, all of my comments became fulfilled prophecies. No apologies received but no responses at all from the hundreds that ruthlessly attacked me all week long. The Michigan fans call our fans bad and we are. We are the worst. Now, what all started with a guarantee is going to hurt Michigan football and put them even farther behind. WHAT KID WANTS TO PLAY FOR THAT TEAM NOW? They just got rolled in a game where their fans are now calling for Harbaugh's job. Ridiculous. I respect Michigan even though I hate them. I don't normally hate Michigan's fans. This week was way worse than after the JT Barrett 1st down in 2016 which is STILL being brought up. MICHIGAN IS NO LONGER A DOMINANT PROGRAM AND CONTRARY TO POPULAR BELIEF BUCKEYE NATION DOESN'T LIKE THAT. Damn. Be positive about your team but not at your team's expense. Hell, even Shea Patterson talked about Barrett being short in 2016. It is a great school but it is not a football powerhouse anymore. Awww. It doesn't matter. You wouldn't listen to me when I said to not get too high on Brady Hoke and all you had to do to see that he was not a great coach was to look at his record. He was 2 wins above .500 when Michigan hired him. We were born in the same city in Ohio. I warned you but I was stupid, I guess. I am never like this but: All of you horrible Michigan fans brought this on yourself. Be embarrassed. You should be. A CLOSED MOUTH GATHERS NO FOOT. I know that this may be the wrong place but I travel Michigan channels once a year and your comments in the video sounded a lot like what I said before the game to all of these fans that brutalized me. It doesn't make this win sweeter though. It really makes it worse. The Game is a soecial thing and will always be better if both programs are always #1 vs. #2 like they are supposed to be.
You always have to respect your opponent. One of the golden rules in sports. Actually, I meant to flip Denzel's line around... OSU did play checkers, while Harbaugh continues to try to complicate things. If you called 21 points - salute. I had some apprehension, but thought MICH would at least edge it out. But, road games... road rivalry games in CFB are extremely difficult. So, no, I wasn't trying to hear all the Buckeye fans who said MICH was gonna win by multiple scores.
The defensive line was trash today. I mean damn can they at least get a hurry up on him or something. We had no running game and I said the same thing you said after hidgon would get positive yards he would go out and Evans comes in and gets stuffed. Shea didn't get enough good runs on the zone read. You are also spot on with the 2 point conversions. Damn you even touched on how everything we do offensively is a challenge. I was like why do we not have the talent to run a qb sneak in 3rd and 1. We have to line up in I formation and hand off to either Mason or Higdon. And where was Mason today...
Exactly! Then, you're trying to convert on these big, pivotal plays.... AFTER timeouts! No element of surprise, or exclusion of OSU coaching! Can't believe Harbaugh looked that unprepared. Meyer had his squad ready for any/every thing.
I “liked it” for you bru. Buckeye fan and I agree the take that harbaugh is too arrogant. If he doesn’t change there will be a lot of games like this against equal or better talented teams
This was the most disappointing loss for Michigan that I've seen, in 50 years. This was pathetic. The no excuses season is going to end with nothing but excuses again, full of nothing but ifs. If this had happened. If this had not happened. And, Jimmy sits in the post game press conference showing no passion or enthusiasm for his team. No, "My kids played their hearts out and I'm proud of their effort. We just came up short and I take the responsibility for not preparing them for this game." I no I'm done with the Hypebaugh machine. He's always leading the race then dies at the finish line.
Harbaugh might have been a little shell shocked to say the right stuff. He probably believed he was finally going to best this great college coach, and instead suffered his worst defeat to Meyer yet.
I believed this was the year. I had hoped this game yesterday was going to put Michigan back among the elite. The past was going to be forgiven but yesterday looked like the same we've seen for 2 decades. I'm not angry, just disappointed.
@@robldyson Hey, all signs pointed to tuning in to see a hard-fought, well-played game... with MICH emerging as the winner. Swagger gets thrown around a little recklessly nowadays, but at no point did the Wolverines really exude the swagger needed to pull off that victory yesterday. Higdon had a flash of it after his first carry, but then he looked as confused as I was after being signaled to come off the field for Evans. The opening series was so telling...
The difference was the Ohio State defense played to its potential. That carried over to the offense, which played as well as it has all season. And the OSU offensive line played an incredible game. Michigan looked out of sorts all game long and did not meet the challenge Ohio State made.
as an Ohio State fan it seems like Harbaugh isn’t using Patterson correctly at all and won’t switch up his style of offense to feature Shea Patterson’s talent. Also he isn’t great at halftime adjustments
Michigan's defense got exposed. Michigan's defense was never as good as everyone thought. They were just playing against really bad Big10 offenses all season long. The one decent offense you play all season and you give up 62 points.
Happy Holidays fam!!! I'm clearly talking about when you just don't have the superior talent at QB, RB & WR. I realize OSU was loaded offensively. Not necessarily the case up in A^2. Thanks for the comment! You see us @ No. 2 in CBB tho, right 😂 (the Buckeyes Top 15 ranking is important though)
At the end of the second, UM took the momentum away from Ohio state and I agree, going for two at that time was not by the book. The failed attempt did give OSU a spark.
Team energy soars up with the score... and immediately leaves after a horribly executed 2-pt conversion attempt. And, you're trying to do the conversions, and I thought one 4th & short, AFTER timeouts!!! WTH? That gave OSU a chance to coach its guys up vs there being panic and doubt.
Plus we gave y'all a gimmie right B4 half literally and y'all Paterson can't throw down the field. Trust me we had 4 year of jt. ik how it feel the defense doesn't respect your down the field passing
Dude what game did you watch!! Haskins is a drop back, pure pocket passer and he torched the #1 Pass Defense in the nation. Mr. Guarantee Karan Higdon was your leading rusher, although I agree with your point about the use of Evans. As far a Patterson running the ball, did you see how the Buckeyes D-Line played. Patterson will be having nightmares about Chase Young for weeks. TTUN tried to play-action us and it didn't work. Analysis is subjective I guess!!
Subjective or in context... I was speaking from Michigan's perspective, with their talent in mind. I've written this half a dozen times on other comments... You can win from the pocket. But, most teams are going to need a mobile guy to extend drives. JT ran the ball (relentlessly) vs MICH in numerous key junctures of games during his day! Urb won with Smith @ Utah & and obviously Tebow @ UoF. How did Dabo & CLEM overcome all of Bama's NFL def prospects? A mix of Watson's legs & arm. It's a reason Haskins had nearly 1,500 yds more passing than Shea!
@@PayMeNoMind The diff is UFM adjusted his offense to his personnel. tOSU outschemed TTUN they didn't out man them. Let's be real here, Harbaugh for all his hype has never in his CFB coaching career won the conference in which his team plays. Don't forget what Haskins did to Brown's Defense after JT got hurt in last season's game. It's Harbaugh's two back two TE offense that's archaic. tOSU has been getting gashed all season on D. They have given up 20 plays of 40 yards or more. TTUN never once challenged them or put ant stress on their LB's to cover in space. What is the fascination with Chris Evans if Higdon is your #1 back? What you didn't mention in your analysis (in your defense, no one else has either) is the poor officiating that kept TTUN in this game. tOSU had 12 penalties for 150 yards, including 5 Defensive Pass Interference infractions, 3 of which kept TTUN drives alive that resulted in scores. Why wasn't Furbush called for targeting, when the play was clear? I'm not arguing with your analysis, just making some points of my own.
@@CurtisScruggs So we're seeing some of the same details, basically... You really expected me to mention the officiating, and in turn make Ohio St look even better??? Lol The play onfield, the 62 pts... It all says all that needs to be said.
Harbaugh is an NFL coach period. He is gonna always lose a couple of games every season. He can get away with that in the pros but not in college. He need to stop embarrassing himself against Urban Meyer and head back to the nfl because he will always be a good college coach but great NFL coach.
I was saying that a few days before the game if it were me I wouldve targeted Watson too. One dude said that because watson was a senior he gets the start and he has played dam good I was wondering wth was he looking at ..I had suggested trying Ambry Thomas since he is a db ..has waaay more speed than watson.....Watson gave up 21 pts by himself..I never liked the whole safety man up on wr bs ( Metellus/Kinnel man up) we do that all the time and we got decapitated
Harbaugh's had all "his guys" one year and ur ready to scatamoosh him??? All that does in a pile on viral way is add so much more pressure to win that it basically not give him a chance to take this team to the top. This team is miles ahead of the dismal team that let a so so Notre Dame team sneak into playoff contention but there are rivalry connections in that one too. It is scary how the guy recruits and if ur fans could get behind the guy maybe the players would get behind him more. Or have they forgotten the pre Harbaugh era. Sure he made a few mistakes. But he sure didn't give us the press conference we were on the edge of our seats for dang it. After seeing the arm on Milton and it was either pass or die he should have given the rookie the chance. Was there a flat out QB run from what was billed as a duel threat? I don't remember seeing one and it appeared as if Blues reciever's were no joke and more five wide was in order. Goin for two? Cmon it's "The Game" there shouldn't be any more momentum needed after a gr8 first half come back. That catch of a kick off and hop outta bounds where Harbaugh's head couldn't hang any lower and many other useless run backs that took time off the clock cost dearly. It looked as though the Silver Bullits finally showed up and with not only that but a significant running game finally gave Urban the balanced team he needed. Still shootin themselves in the head with dumb penalties and the one turnover but somehow we overcame that one. After being frustrated the whole season after the Penn State win just about knowing they would lay an egg transitioning this team from a one dimensional hurry up offense. Carrying with it it's own built in fault of not keeping the D off the field long enough was painful. Then it turned out to be the best I've seen the Bucks play in all my life other than maybe the Alabama playoff game when they needed it the most. Go Bucks O-H!
Pretty sure I said a rush to jettison Harbaugh was unnecessary, but not in those exact words. Going for 2 just sets you up to chase for-sure points that should've been put on the board. Why show signs of panic and worry about scenarios that could happen later in the game... instead of focusing on the real adjustments that needed to be made? Appreciate the comments though.
@@PayMeNoMind I got that first part it's more directed at the fans that want him out and we know deep down inside it's tough to live with a coach that can't hold his own in this rivalry. You did a gr8 video I'm glad u are able to throw in the humor at the end. Goin for two was showing some Kahooneys though. Tactically you would want to save that for later in the fourth quarter tho at least. Remember ole Woody said when he went for two way up was coz he couldn't go for three. Maybe he's trying to show he has confidence in his guys or wanted us to see that. You gotta love him standing us all up at the press conference podium tho right? Classic Harbaough.
@@mikewysong7307 re: the 2-pt tries... It just wasn't normal decision-making for 2Q play. IMO. It's either encouraging... or, a sign of panic. The crowd got a little quiet after the score, but then were right back in it with the defensive stand. Heck, Dantoni might be the only guy to consistently stand up to Urb, plus that random mid-season road conf game.
as a Washington state fan, I feel your pain im losing to your rival. Mike leach has turned our program around but can't beat the fuskies. It's fucking annoying!
Go Buckeyes, I knew it would be a blowout, I've watched Michigan all year, and that offense truly looked horrible all year long. Weak competition put them at 10-1
It had its issues throughout the year, especially in the big play dept. But how is ~35 PPG horrible? Higdon over 100 yds for 6-7 straight? Shea's passing yds didn't set the world on fire, but the job was getting done. What conf schedule wasn't questionable competition this year?
@@PayMeNoMind Listen, I understand how this thing works because I majored in communications, they media turned this entire season into a hype machine for the sake of promoting college football. I don't just watch these games, I study them. Stats in college football is very misleading, as those stats are inflated against weak competition, and because they only play 12 games, those numbers remain skewed throughout the season. Look, the Big 10 has been a very weak conference all season long, with Wisconsin, Penn State, and Michigan State all taking steps back this year. Those 3 programs lost immense talent to the NFL, and all 3 came back with mediocre recruiting classes. Michigan fans are not being honest with themselves, Jim Harbaugh took over a terrible program that lacked talent everywhere on the field as Desmond Howard once said. See, because Harbaugh had immediate success, the fans felt that Michigan had arrived. Yes they've gone through 3 recruiting cycles, but in order for Harbaugh to turn that into a machine, he would have had to pull off what Nick Saban did at Alabama, and get #1 recruiting classes every year, and that's next to impossible, not to mention Ohio State's been in the top 3 every year themselves
@@jameswarner300 why do we have to go into the conspiracy/agenda/mktg/media/promoting etc talk with everything? How do you get folks to care and tune in if there is 0 context or importance? Of course we have to understand Boise St or Fresno St's dominance in their conference can't possibly be equal to Bama, UGA, Clemson or LSU's team stats in their conference. We watch these games each week, discern what we can and then when get these key rivalry games... we find out what was real. After OSU's bad loss, the Bucks weren't supposed to drop in the rankings? After MICH won 10 straight, they should've been No. 15 or lower? MICH couldn't have possibly caught Urb & Co. on an off week? There couldn't have been some key injuries? An ejection? A bad bounce? Missed calls? OSU had the better talent. Michigan appeared to be playing better as team. We got to game day, and there wasn't any doubt left. Most of were tuning in if there weren't any rankings, and no pundits analyzing everything a million different ways. Hopefully folks enjoyed the game and we'll all do it again next year.
@@PayMeNoMind It's no conspiracy theory, it's the truth, media will try and control the minds of people, conditioning them to think something that doesn't exist. Think about it this way, if media personnel gave the viewing audience the truth, people wouldn't watch the games and college football would lose billions of dollars.
Let me summarize this video. Michigan sucks. Always has and always will. This game made me feel a lot better about my Huskers because we only lost by 5 at The Shoe. I hope we can play OSU next year in the B1G championship.
@@gnar7003 You're a fool if you think Nebraska is the same team that lost to Michigan. Our progress is evidenced by our close close to Ohio St in Columbus. Our coaches are already out on the road recruiting. I'm just glad Michigan didn't get into the playoff because they would've gotten killed and embarrassed our conference.
It is, I just don't get it... It looks like it's orchestrated by a coordinator/head coach combo who are tone deaf to what's happening in CFB, or unrealistic about what its talent can and can't do.
@@PayMeNoMind its an offense you run if you don't have high level talent. If you are going to be Wisconsin you better have the elite OL to match an elite RB and you can run on 3rd and 4 against most teams and have a shot to get the first down.
My mind is blown how short sighted Jim is being. Its like he likes that type of offense and would love to win that way but you simply can't always win that way.
Funny you should say that bro... On defense, they're going to often leave the CBs on an island with all kinds of risk. On offense, I'm going to play it super conservative. The offense is way too predictable.
I think it was a mantra the team rallied around, but became something else once it was publicized. The guarantee... every thought we have, doesn't need to be shared.
@@corneliusevazan1284 didn't really care for the Michigan kid's role in the Sparty altercation. Then going back to tear up the logo... Seemed unnecessary IMO but it's somewhat, or seemingly, accepted behavior in CFB.
@Pay Me No Mind - you said "you don't win college football games by sitting back in the pocket". The rebuttal to this would be "watch Dwayne Haskins". So, since what you said isn't accurate, the truth would be that your coaches schemes and players aren't what they need to be. Xichigan's failures have started with their coaches and recruiting. They can't score a decent QB to save their lives! Can you imagine the past 4 years had your team not gotten grad transfers? Flip the script, and Ohio State could've played Tate Martel and still won .... Go Bucks.
I thought the officiating was fairly equal?! LOLOLOL 97.1 The Ticket in Ann Arbor said that even the officials tried to keep Xichigan in the game. 150 yards of penalties on the Buckeyes and no-calls on the wolverines. 15 seconds left in the half and the wolverines had THIRTEEN players on the field and it wasn't called ....
My apologies... I'm not speaking in absolutes. My words/opinions/views are not the final say. I sincerely appreciate the view and comment. I was speaking from Michigan's perspective - thought this was obvious. In past years when Michigan gained momentum in this game, he wisely abandoned the pass & hand-offs to RBs and went with JT running the ball. Sometimes for entire drives! When Urban was at UoF, he obviously won games with Tebow, who passed in a limited manner. Yes, Saban won with McElroy, McCarron & John David whoever... but look at the OLs, RBs & defenses he had. Hell, like 20 total pts were scored against them through 3 Natl title games! OSU didn't beat Bama with JT, but do you recall Elliott running for 800 yds or something through the B1G chip, the semi & the natty? Add in the arm of 12 Gauge... who had a couple of timely runs. Does Michigan have any of these aforementioned pieces??? Who had key runs that turned the momentum in the games vs State, Wisc & Sparty? Patterson. The vid started with the disclaimer I'm freestyling... I may have missed a few details.
Higdon 15 carries Evans 8... never featured Higdon anymore? Officiating was totally in your favor 12-7 penalties two really really bullshit pass interference calls that extended drives that resulted in points for you guys, the refs really kept you guys in this game however much you were in it lol.
"Buckeye" Derrick.... Thanks for the comment. A disclaimer was given at the beginning of the video. Higdon had more carries than I realized, my issue was more so how the carries were split up. Noted that you thought the game could've/should've been even less competitive.
Teams that can match up with OSU speed WR’s doing drag routes across the field. Purdue, Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame And Oklahoma all these teams can match up with OSU WR’s. Purdue already showed you how to stop the pass..
@@PayMeNoMind to be honest there isn't a set of corners in the country that can honestly match our speed what we did was attack your 3rd best corner and because my offensive line finally gave him some time to pick the deffense apart give him that time against anybody we will drop 50 on anyone in the country
@@villainsofthevillage7086 that press coverage/island stuff is cool, but it is going to get taken advantage of in the college game - vs the right teams. Brown's scheme was great up until it wasn't... but without any heat from Winovich, Bush, Gary & Co. it was easy work.
This is Urban Ball. He did this at Florida in 2006 and Beat Ohio State for his first Natty. He did this in 2008 and beat Oklahoma for his 2nd Natty. He did it again in 2014 and beat Oregon for his 3rd Natty. If Ohio State makes the playoffs this year he is likely to get his 4th National Championship.
Right..... Like I said below, you're that type of fan where all of us other observers were supposed to disregard all the Buckeyes' issues with lesser talented teams, during the middle of the season. But you... you... YOU knew the real story all along and knew OSU was putting up 60-plus vs what had been a unit that was top-ranked all year. Have a great day sir! Lol It's damn near next season! 😂😂😂
Nebraska fan is just glad one of these teams got beat. Have it coming after slopping out wins against Huskers this year. Wait until next year. Next year.
I only saw one kid whose toughness I'd question, but otherwise I didn't see anybody quit. I saw a coaching staff fail their players, and the program got embarrassed.
@@PayMeNoMind - Watch the D line in the 4th Q … Looked more like Rutgers than the #1 defense in the country .. that's going through the motions (like Rutgers does) …. Tell me that Bo wouldn't have been in their ASS ..
only the die-hard fans are really and truly upset when their college team looses a football game. If a head coach is making 7 million dollars a year, year in and year out I really don't think he is anywhere near as upset as the die-hard fan. do u? The 8 or 9 assistant coaches who make from $350,000.00 to 1 million dollars a year also are not as upset as the die-hard fan. The players, who all are getting a free $250,000 scholarship plus all the young girls to have sex with that they can dream of also are not as upset as "THE DIE-HARD FAN".
Not sure I understand what you mean by "diehard"... I love Michigan football, want to see them contend for natl titles, but understand the difficulties. I also have other options for my sports and entertainment interests. I have to leave matters in the hands that make the calls re: Harbaugh & his staff's salary, and nor can I tread into the sexual behavior of young adults on big time CFB campuses. I may not be diehard.
Reporter: "Jim gives us your thoughts on your second half adjustments." Harbaugh: "Umm, puddin' pop hood scoop bop-bop, danger Will Robinson and the best word in the English language. From free bird to Oscar the Burt and Ernie, french tickler poop penis. Next question, thank you" Reporter: "Thanks, Coach you're a true michigan man"
The FBI should launch a full scale investigation into Jim Harbaugh's financial dealings. I suspect he owes a great sum of money to someone, or is involved in a gambling racket. It's the only logical explanation for his teams' performances in big games.
amigo, I respect all human beings. But you are talking like my wife. She will argue with anything I say. She really will. Again, I respect what you have to say and all I meant was: "Real fans get upset when their teams loose BUT I do not think it bothers the coaches or the players as much as it does the "REAL FANS". Viva la France!
Not even really trying to argue for the sake of arguing. I understand your point a little better, and maybe from the correct perspective. Didn't mean to disrespect your point of view, maybe I focused on what I perceived as a "true fan" vs regular fan argument. My bad. You meant, in general, fans hurt more than coaches in these rivalry games... fair point. Again, no argument here, but I would think Harbaugh's pride (with NFL & Super Bowl experience) is pretty hurt after repeatedly getting embarrassed by a college coach.
@@PayMeNoMind We are on the same page I think. And I think you should be correct in thinking that Harbough's pride should be hurt. I am just taking the position that if you pay me 7 million dollars a year and this is his 4th year there (that's 28 millions dollars in his pocket) win or loose against anybody I am going home with a smile on my face. Let me add one important thing here. My 1st game in following and pulling for our beloved Buckeyes was the 1949 Rose Bowl. Before Woody came. I am the biggest Vic Janowicz and Howard "Hoppalong" Cassidy fan in the world. So, this January 1st, 2019 I have been a loyal and fanatic Buckeye fan for a cool 70 years. And trust me when I tell you that when they lost I would be depressed for friggin days. I remember so well when J.C. Caroline and Mickey Bates were sophmores at the University of Illinois and destroyed the buckeyes. I remember when our Buckeyes were beating Kyle Rote and S.M.U. easily but then the Mustangs brought in a guy named Fred Benners and he passed the Buckeys silly and we lost. Oh my friend the stories I could tell you. But back then, you returned kick-offs, there was no "targeting" and there was no yellow flag for pass interference on every pass down the field. And also there was not 35 friggin time-outs every game for 5 minute commercialsw. Have a great day and keep up your good work. I enjoyed listening to your point of view.
@@allend2749 Wow, that's some quality history sir! Side note: I was so confused by "amigo" & "Viva La France" 😂 Being that you're a wise, seasoned person, we kinda share a mutual outlook on few of the lesser discussed details of the biz of sports. The realities, if you will. I mainly talk about boxing and a fighter from yrs ago once said "it's hard to get up at 5 a.m. to run 5 miles when you're wearing silk pajamas." I wonder if Harbaugh were to get a good bowl win, and NFL teams contacted him, could he have a change of heart on the college game...
I don’t believe OSU should get in over Oklahoma if it comes down to those 2 teams in the 4th spot. Nebraska, Maryland, Purdue, And even Struggling with a Michigan State team going into the 4th quarter 9-6 before Michigan st. Started turning the ball over.. OSU is hot right now but look at who they have played against in my opinion.
You can only make up so much ground with one W, huh! The conf championship game could have a similar result. Who knows what the committee will do.... Could be some major brands to decide from.
I understand your point, but beating 4 ranked teams, 2 of which were top ten, one was top 4...no easy task. especially when you obliterated the #1 defense in the nation with 62 points. it'll be interesting to see the committees view.
I do, because I believe the committee emphasizes more of who you beat than who you loss to. For instance, Oklahoma loss to texas, who got drubbed by Maryland. Oklahoma also struggled with west Virginia who loss to Oklahoma st. Heck Oklahoma almost lost to Oklahoma st. Its not who you got beat. Its who you beat. Oklahoma hasn't beaten anybody outside of west Virginia. Their schedule especially league wise is weak. That's how the committee sees it. This isnt last year, because it's not a two loss team. And they dont base their selection off of past years. TBH as an osu fan. I dont want them to make the playoff. But they will because of schedule, especially if they blow the doors off of Northwestern. Not only that, I'm not quite sure Oklahoma beats texas. When u get physical with Oklahoma, they tend to struggle.
And to further add to this point. They just blew up the no.4 team in the country. Sometimes its is when you win and how u put it together. 2014, osu showed that. last years Clemson team showed that. Football is about peaking at the right time. Majority of committee is made of former players and head coaches. They know this better than anyone. Like I said, if they play similar or better against Northwestern. Theyll be in. Especially if (,and I personally think they're gonna lose) Oklahoma struggles against texas. It's that simple.
Honestly, this was the difference in talent I thought was there coming into the season. Had to have been a legendary week of practice!
Yep and Ohio State has just as much talent as anyone in the country. They finally put it all together and that was the result.
@TheBalls Exactly, the O line played to perfection. Where has that been all year? Who cares. They showed up when it counted. One false start on the first drive, then they were masterful.
Pay Me No Mind Michigan got players that got hurt during the game but ohio state still would won if they remind healthy
No It was a combination of bad coaching by Michigan and good coaching by Ohio. Plus since our D line didn't get any pressure on Haskins he could just take his time and throw perfect passes.
Urban Meyer said, it's not about who is the better team, it's about who is the better prepared team, validating your points.
Good game for my Buckeyes
Lol No trash can be talked. Great game!
I’m a lifelong Buckeye who remembers the 90’s and John Cooper. So my
celebration is with humility.
Eye opening...
LOL
Totally kidding!
Go Blue
The REVENGE TOUR LOL. The War on drugs was more successful.

What if they had Bosa?
Warren Notestine Oh God, we would have demolished them!
We didn't want that kinda smoke...
I love the sportsmanship my guy good game tho at least it wasn't 62-3 gg
IT takes SPEED, Speed to win in big time College Football!
This was the first year in a very long time that I had a thought we could take a “L” from TTUN....... Glad my Buckeyes showed up!
0 sacks.
The 0 sacks was the most surprising part about it. The OL was the only offensive weakness of the buckeyes this year, but it seemed to show no issues in the game where I was thinking it would be most taxed.
Shea Patterson was using his legs for running for his life. As multiple defenders were around threw out the game.
Also, LBs and Secondary was exposed with the speed of the WR core of OSU.
Honestly, cuz, today represented the difference in talent I thought was there at the opening of the season. I never bought into Ohio State not having exceptional offensive pieces. But damn Paris can roll out!
Crazy speed difference. Just left defenders chugging while breaking away. Insane.
Good Breakdown
I'm sure you saw those Saints on the Buckeyes sideline

As an OSU fan I wish your program the best. Great game. You guys had a good season. Best of luck next year.
I think you're being sincere (and this isn't a backhanded compliment)! LOL Real talk, best of luck on the Buckeyes moving on.

OSU fan here, I honestly thought this was your year to win.
Me too.
@@buckeyesl5 Michigan did beat Penn State 42-7
I think that two point conversion try before halftime was dumb especially since we handed them a gift and it seemed like that stuff energized OSU after a demoralizing special teams blunder.
Up 21-6, cruising at home, with all the momentum... not sure that equated to demoralizing.
The quick stuff did seem like an instant reminder that the Buckeyes were better, even at facing adversity.

Feels like it sometimes... hey, my consolation has been coach John Beilein's work during March Madness!!!
Ain't nobody reading all this.

Michigan 84 got knocked the f out then got mad. I was rolling. Gentry right?

As bad as the scripted plays looked... Lol... Very early, the offensive vibe was pretty bad.
as an Ohio State fan it seems like Harbaugh isn’t using Patterson correctly at all and won’t switch up his style of offense to feature Shea Patterson’s talent. Also he isn’t great at halftime adjustments
Michigan's defense got exposed. Michigan's defense was never as good as everyone thought. They were just playing against really bad Big10 offenses all season long. The one decent offense you play all season and you give up 62 points.
Bro what do you mean. Osu dropped back and passed all game. Michigan needs to throw more if anything and get their playmakers in space
Lol
The play onfield, the 62 pts...

As a Michigan fan I wanted them to take Watson out the game.
I think he defended on 4 of Ohio State's touchdowns. Where was the help for him? He was eaten alive. Coaching failed

@@PayMeNoMind its an offense you run if you don't have high level talent. If you are going to be Wisconsin you better have the elite OL to match an elite RB and you can run on 3rd and 4 against most teams and have a shot to get the first down.

Those crossing routes worked so well today because OSU's OL kept Haskins clean all day. And, they targeted Watson #28 so much!

Not even really trying to argue for the sake of arguing. I understand your point a little better, and maybe from the correct perspective. Didn't mean to disrespect your point of view, maybe I focused on what I perceived as a "true fan" vs regular fan argument. My bad. You meant, in general, fans hurt more than coaches in these rivalry games... fair point. @@PayMeNoMind We are on the same page I think. And I think you should be correct in thinking that Harbough's pride should be hurt. I wonder if Harbaugh were to get a good bowl win, and NFL teams contacted him, could he have a change of heart on the college game...
Oklahoma d worse than Buckeyes. Bucks might put 80 on em.
Go bucks
