That man is an honorary Marine. He deserves personal recognition from FDR himself for his heroics holding downtown LA almost by himself. EDIT: Actually nvm. Top comment of last video did mention that he was an ex-Marine, if we take that to be Teddy Reed canon. Still, FDR should award this man the Medal of Honor or something like that.
It was the 2nd Battalion 29th Marine Regiment 6th Marine Division recently activated and fresh out of boot camp that would make the United States first counter-attack against the Japanese. Loading aboard several LST and LSI's the ad hoc force departed San Diego with six escorting destroyer and 2 Light cruisers in tow arriving off the beach of Los Angeles. After a short preliminary bombardment from light cruisers St' Helena and Brooklyn 1st company 2nd Batt Landed in their LVT under heavy fire from Japanese positions. 2nd Battalion 1st Company would suffer almost 50% losses with most of their Amtracs knocked out but, they had cleared Japanese defenses along the beachfront and had paved the way for the remainder of 2nd Battalion to advance into the outer city limits and root out remaining Japanese forces. In all the landing at LA was a major US victory but it came at a substantial cost 2nd Battalion had suffered 85% losses with 552 casualties and only 98 men fit for service, lost a total of 14 amtracs (leaving the Battalion with only two usable amtracs) all for roughly 200 meters of ground
A *War* *Plan* *Red* series would be interesting. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_Plan_Red The US Army discussed the potential for fighting a war with Britain and its Empire and outlined those steps necessary to defend the Atlantic coast against any attempted mainland invasion of the United States. It further discussed fighting a two-front war with both Japan and Britain simultaneously (as envisioned in War Plan Red-Orange).
These videos are so amazing, especially with a story line and all that. It's like a T.V. series where you just wanna watch more and more. Keep doing these!
Diplex loving the cinematic opening shots dude! I know your not trying to focus solely on WWII as much but I think that a functional series about the French resistance against the Germans would be pretty cool!
Those are my old stomping grounds, although the tracks were gone and it looked very different in the 1970s and early 80's. Seeing a place where you've walked thousands of times as a battlefield is exciting. These videos are pretty darned good, I'm a military history buff but no gamer, I can appreciate this labor of love though.
I really enjoy your videos. I was overjoyed to see in this video the LCI (L)s land troops ashore just as they did all across Europe and the Pacific. I saw that one of the LCIs was LCI (L) 85. The LCI 85 in real life was in the invasion of Normandy and was sunk. There are some amazing action photos of the incident. I love the videos you do.
Make a battle of Umbra or the battle of theed PLEASE. The clone battles you make are probably the best thing I've seen and how much effort you put into the battles is amazing!! So I would like to see some more of it.
Something that would be sick is if the japanese would win the engagement at sea and send a detachment to relieve the japanese forces in the city by launching a sandwich manouver from the shore and inner city simultaneously to boot out the american marines who'll be defending around maybe the shipyard or the pretender or whatnot. All of that aside though, great job on this little miniseries dude, the fighting has been really cinematic so far so i can't wait till next episode!
you should have the Japanese defenders attack the marines that took the beachhead in an attempt to retake the beach and get supplies coming back in. The U.S. has been having a winning streak here kinda, between successfully defending with the national guard and retaking the beach, i think the Japanese naval command should win pearl harbor since you said they attacked with full force of naval and air forces, the U.S. pacific fleet caught off guard from that would surely be defeated in their heroic yet fruitless attempt at defense of the Hawaiian islands
Hey Diplex, just a bit of useful information. I have no idea who told you that the National Guard was similar to a home guard of sorts but they're (mostly) wrong. It was in fact the National Guard that did most of the fighting in Europe during WW2, and they were equipped just like any regular army unit. In fact, the 29th Infantry Division of the North Carolina and Virginia National Guard is one of the division's that stormed Omaha Beach on June 6th, 1944. They were the first to hit the beach and took massive casualties.
Hey Diplex, can you do the battle of the Ia Drang Valley? Or a mini series based off the event or the move We were soldiers? Been awhile since a Vietnam War mod
I simply don't understand Diplex. Your MOWAS2 content has stayed the Same. I don't know where the views are man! As usual I loved your video and you should never stop doing what you love. I do hope you can bring back the old titles for the videos in the "all caps" fashion that really made me want to watch your videos more. Keep up the good Work 👍
"I realy tryed to hold the beach" he sad after contoling US in maintime :)But the Scenario, the map and the idea are AWSOME. Still like it, Keep it up mate!Grüße aus Deutschland.
Love the presentation, but why would this fight occur? Assuming the Japanese had successfully invaded California, why would the US be attempting to retake it through amphibious landings? If the Marines are in San Diego, why not just march up to LA?
Hey Diplex, ever read Harry Turtledove's Guns of the South? Its a really good alternate history novel where time travellers gave AK47's to the southern armies.
I'm not quite sure how you would go about it, but I think it would be awesome if the outcome of one battle affects the next part in the series. Maybe fewer men, more armour support or having to attack from a less advantageous side, things along those lines.
My Dad lived through it as an 8 year old boy. Told me all about the guns booming all night, the blackout curfew. The civilian guard, the big balloons on hugely thick cable. It's not a myth. This really happened. 100%. 👍
Alaska did not become a state until 1959, so they technically did not invade the United States. I have thoroughly enjoyed this alternate history invasion, though. Absolute glorious. Keep up the great work!
I think that the attacking marines would’ve probably fared better on the Main Street if they had received vehicle support earlier on. The stairs holding up the water buffalos probably killed lots of men
This is becoming one of my favorite series so far, loving this Alternate reality invasion! We have to still Salute that Police Officer of the last vid, however..who will be today's Hero? Watch and see!
the US pacific fleet should lose because of the surprise attack realistically the navy would have been caught off guard and not ready for a fight the majority of the navy would have been crippled or destroyed within the first few hours of the start
Isaac Barron technically this would not have been possible due to the many American naval recon bases located on the Southern California islands that had been watching for an invasion by imperial Japan
Connor Voecks I don't know much about the War of 1812. So I recommend you searching it up. Bu what I know is that Britain burned the White house. Well British troops in Canada I think.
Police officer Teddy Reed would have cleared out that beach with no problems.
that man deserves a statue in front of the police station him with his trusty tommy gun
He probably would've just stood in a crater and popshotted everyone defending the beach.
He would of beat the crap out of them with out Breaking a sweat
titanicww2345 Teddy Reed for president

200 meters of American soil
Price of 0.124274 of miles
Cole Phelps is going to be policing a very different LA than he thought...
risker34 "That guy waving a machine gun at me seems suspicious. I'm going to go interrogate him."

That'd be interesting
I'D LIKE TO SEE YOU TRY, YANKEE
@@battenburg6089BRING IT, BRIT
I know it’s 6 years old don’t try
These videos are so amazing, especially with a story line and all that. It's like a T.V. series where you just wanna watch more and more. Keep doing these!
From the hills of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli
Love it
Alejandro Martinez I'm singing it in choir
That's amazing.
We fight our country's battles,
In the air, on land and sea.
It is actually called "From the Halls of Montezuma" I have a Marine to back it up.
Nice use of the marine corps hymn!!! Hearing that while marching on the parade deck at MCRD was one of the most incredible moments of my life!!
Diplex loving the cinematic opening shots dude! I know your not trying to focus solely on WWII as much but I think that a functional series about the French resistance against the Germans would be pretty cool!

Wheres the UFO ?
Knyq Barbosa UFO's Sucks ok
Eric Guignard Your grammar sucks. It's supposed to be "UFO's suck ok."
Knyq Barbosa just Shut up Assahole
Why would it be "UFO's suck ok"? Apostrophe s makes no sense in this case. The UFO doesn't possess anything. "UFOs sucks, ok" would be better.
MrProfilen Ok then.

Great video, really liking the story behind this please do more.
Thanks,

Hey, Diplex. Perhaps you could do a Japanese amphibious invasion of Pearl Harbor? I think that would fit in well with this storyline.
Hey Diplex, just a bit of useful information. I have no idea who told you that the National Guard was similar to a home guard of sorts but they're (mostly) wrong. The LVT rolls through a phone booth... and the phone booth still stands, good as new.
Magic. ^^
Man your videos should get more than million of likes and views 🌹
Hey Diplex, can you do the battle of the Ia Drang Valley? Or a mini series based off the event or the move We were soldiers? Been awhile since a Vietnam War mod
That was an awesome intro! Hahaha!
Great Vid recommend having music at the beginning of every video. Especially the Star Wars Galaxy at War videos!
Keep up the good Work 👍
Did you just ask someone to clickbait you?
You're ridiculous
Deer Deity yes
Robert true
I agree
Could you please make whole videos just in style of the intro? Its so wonderful cinematic
Nice timing of the marine corp hymn with the birthday so close
"I realy tryed to hold the beach" he sad after contoling US in maintime :)But the Scenario, the map and the idea are AWSOME. Still like it, Keep it up mate!Grüße aus Deutschland.
Love the presentation, but why would this fight occur? Assuming the Japanese had successfully invaded California, why would the US be attempting to retake it through amphibious landings? If the Marines are in San Diego, why not just march up to LA?
I like the armed forces medley at the beginning, nice job.
I love this game from your perspective
Hey Diplex, ever read Harry Turtledove's Guns of the South? Its a really good alternate history novel where time travellers gave AK47's to the southern armies.
I LOVE this series. As always...
I'm not quite sure how you would go about it, but I think it would be awesome if the outcome of one battle affects the next part in the series. Maybe fewer men, more armour support or having to attack from a less advantageous side, things along those lines.
Wow more videos that start like that please! Intro was wicked
Battle starts 6:15
Thanks. The videos are cool but I can't stand his useless chit-chat.
the intro is funny 😁 because my brother started playing trumpet today
That was awesome. Thanks for these great videos I hope you’re doing good 👌👍😺
Plot twist: The aliens helped the japanese secure Los angeles. XD
WarBoy Playz I get the movie was pretty good
Nah it was the power of anime
“Mad jack” would clear out the whole country just from landing there
My Dad lived through it as an 8 year old boy. Told me all about the guns booming all night, the blackout curfew. The civilian guard, the big balloons on hugely thick cable. It's not a myth. This really happened. 100%. 👍
that was the coolest intro i have ever seen
This intros are getting better and better
hey Diplex, what if you reenacted some of the battles from the pre-war Resource Wars of the Fallout franchise?
I just now watched this and these are awesome series you are doing! Just had a question which mod has the water Buffalo with the 37?
Huge army of marines arriving with there hymn playing so cinematic
Alaska did not become a state until 1959, so they technically did not invade the United States. I have thoroughly enjoyed this alternate history invasion, though. Absolute glorious. Keep up the great work!
That10neGuy it was still a territory, much like Puerto Rico
It was a territory, therefor US North American soil
U.S territories are considered American soil.
The original wave of marines shown in the intro looked epic. What happend diplex?
9:30 OOF...
That kinda felt like when the wall in Helm's Deep blew up in Lord of the Rings lol
Thanks you for this video !
Best opening to your video ever!
Awesome. I hope you make it longer.
This better have a IRL movie soon!
He should be more mini series.
To be honest, if you want this to be a longer series i recommend letting the Japanese win pearl harbor.
What about us seeing tree Japanese invasion of pearl harbor
That'd be interesting
Love this video hope you continue to make more
Love your videos keep it up
I love this hope you do more!
I love Your Video Diplexheated ok That Last video was Awesome ok And I Added a like Buddy keep up the Good work ok
Can you do a Star Wars video where you on the side of the CIS in a giant battle between the Clones and Droids?
The horn at the begging is my Alarm sound lol. Fucking hate it. Great video!
Great video Diplex
I think that the attacking marines would’ve probably fared better on the Main Street if they had received vehicle support earlier on. The stairs holding up the water buffalos probably killed lots of men
It’s funny to hear the Marine Corps Hymn at the beginning instead of the Army song. Considering the army is defending.
But then the marines invade America, makes sense.
I'd love to see these missions you do to be on the workshop
Can you make this kind of series in a modern version?
Would be great if there is a movie about this ; D I can imagine it a bit :D
Loving the new intros!
keep it up diplex, love you man
Make this into a full man in the high castle series.
Ok yes that intro. Beautiful
This is becoming one of my favorite series so far, loving this Alternate reality invasion! We have to still Salute that Police Officer of the last vid, however..who will be today's Hero? Watch and see!
You should make a video about japan invading Alaska.
Real life battle of LA: Disappointed
This battle of LA: Awesome
Great video!
Diplexheated the new movie editor
Why haven't you included the coast guard they would have been quick response to this especially with the naval aspect of it.
What music are you playing at the beginning? Sounds like some music I have heard in schools in china
Awesome introduction
Loving the intro again
Survivors, Keanu Reeves, Terran Tactical crew, 3 tough pitbulls and some alien that complains of not having enough alcohol
Nice video 👍🏻👍🏻
How can you disable the HUD ?
Loeve the videos keep up the good work😁😁
the US pacific fleet should lose because of the surprise attack realistically the navy would have been caught off guard and not ready for a fight the majority of the navy would have been crippled or destroyed within the first few hours of the start
Isaac Barron technically this would not have been possible due to the many American naval recon bases located on the Southern California islands that had been watching for an invasion by imperial Japan
Ah, the intro once agina is über on point !!!
it was like d-day in los-angles
all things games & more not really it wasn't defended heavily like d-day was and there were no bunkers
Very nice video enjoyed it deeply
How, 1 min ago and the vid is way longer. :p
James Hartley I can see the future
:p i already know its good as well
James Hartley it’s still fricking loading for me
This is like speaking in real time, so strange.
This would make a great movie.
The music at the beginning shows how I feel when Diplex uploads....
Sadly, no one will probably see this.
I did.
if your wondering about what battle was fought in Alaska it was the battle of midway
What’s that theme song from?? Was it from Sands of Iwo Jima
Diplex how do u get those custom civilian skins? PLZ tell me!!
Don’t like how you suddenly kinda changed the story line in the beginning..
This is an awesome video😃😃😃
Oorah! Marines are the First To Fight! Also,
NEVER FUCKING INVADE AMERICA!!!!
Edward Collier Explain how the British burned down the White House in 1812 then ?
Knyq Barbosa America didn't have a real military then.
Connor Voecks I don't know much about the War of 1812. So I recommend you searching it up. Bu what I know is that Britain burned the White house. Well British troops in Canada I think.
As Yamamoto said "behind every blade of grass, there are 3 guns in the hands of Americans"
Knyq Barbosa *Cough cough Then the British got cocky and tried taking New Orleans*
Better to lead with the armor and send troops on either side down the road to cover its advance
Let’s get some marines
Intro was fucking motivating as FUCK.
Next do a resistance raid on a Japanese supply depot further in the city lead by Theodore Reed.
Digiquill Reed*
you need to put part 2, or part 3, or whatever in your titles.
