Worst I had was an Academy pro team passed me at high speed close on the left side near 143 on LSR, get maybe 200 feet in front, turn hard right and kill the motor. I had to make a sharp right turn, missing him by inches. To top it off he then made an unsportsmanlike gesture.

A anchored boat in Iowa. A 25' law. The fine can be 100.00 to 1200.00 and if touched it can go even higher. Now in Minnesota it could mean expulsion off the river or lake a fisherman was fishing on vac and a jetski was go around the boater the dnr seen this and ask the fisherman if he was bothering his fishing trip yes he is , the dnr kicked the jetski off the lake for the year and fined him 500.00.

This guy simply didn't know any better, as they say in the south "bless his heart". Kudos to keeping your tempers under control. Now, the other possibility would be that he was a jerk, intentionally sabotaging your fishing spot. He saw two grown men, wearing women's shoes, fishing in a nice boat , figuring he had nothing to fear from them😊

Two options you could have trolled around them. Or they could have pulled there lines in and fired up big motor to get out of your way. Which one do you think would have hurt your fishing the most? If they were anchored then ur required to yield the right of way regardless if ur in a tournament or not. We have to remember the lakes are there for public recreation not for chasing money. Lighten up Francis!

They were not anchored so I don't know why you would say that. Mr. Ken was anchored, so the other guys were required to yield, but didn't. I hope I never have this happen to me. Someone will go swimming.

I had it happen to me at Caddo. And it was an Old Man & Im 62... He cut right across my bow maybe 10 feet in front of my boat. Then parked 20 feet away & started fishing. I believe he thought that was his spot only. And wanted to run me off, which he accomplished... But not before I did a couple of doughnuts trying to make a big enough wave to swamp him. Some people..

I'm surprised at the comments by people who think that you should have moved. Obviously they don't have any idea about fishings unwritten rules. It's common sense really that you give people space. Either they don't know or they don't give a shit. More than likely don't give a shit.
Very surprised here as well. You don’t just go into others spot, drifting or no TM is not an excuse at all. It is not like they lost power and have zero control of their vessel. Big or small is irrelevant, what people drive also does not matter. It’s the attitude and respect.

The guys in the drifting boat were obviously in the wrong, but look what happens when you're being hard headed and self righteous. One guy falls over, the other cracks off his cast. Both could have been avoided by just accepting that people are sometimes stupid and just moving out of their way for the few moments it takes them to drift past you.

I think plain ol common sense has become a rare thing these days . In tournaments I see guys launch and start tying on baits crossways of the ramp while others are trying to launch . I don’t know if they just don’t care or are just plain dumber than dirt .

Honestly that guy wasn’t being a jerk, he was just a barely functioning human. Had a similar situation working a bed this weekend I had a guy on a paddle board towing a grandkid get between me and shore. Saw him coming for like 10 minutes and thought “no way he comes up on me” lol😂

They were drifting without a trolling motor. They should have been on their big motor but probably thought you would move because you had one. Sad , neither of you attempted to move as a courtesy. Who was fishing the spot there first ? He also might not like Tournament fishermen.
He’s obviously never fished any of the lakes in Southern Cal…this is a regular occurrence…it’s called combat fishing for a reason.

It's crazy nowadays! I had a guy idle right over the spot I was fishing. I even said some before they went over it.. and it wasn't very deep. Pretty much blew the spot out!

To be honest they were there first and you were the ones moving not them. So they were not in wrong imo. Just cause your fishing in a tournament and have the more expensive boat doesn’t give you the right to almost hit them. Have some dang courtesy leave or comeback later or don’t fish there at all.
Ken I hate this happened to you but people just don't have any common sense any more. Last year my partner and I was fishing a tournament and was on the trolling motor about 20 to 30 foot off the bank fishing lay down trees all around the shore , 2 older gentleman was coming right at us on the gas motor and went between us and the bank and never check up , went by us pulling a wake and ran over my partners line. with that being said my partner has a short fuse needless to say he chased them down and I'm not going into the rest but it wasn't good for them.
I mean he really should have just got in the boat and gave a shameless plug to the camera of his social media page, helped himself to some food and drink and asked which is your favorite rod then take it with him back to his boat before it drifted away. All with a passing polite have a nice day!
Not having a trolling motor is not an excuse. I’ve encountered similar situation, people drift fishing in big recreational vessels were acting totally entitled to the water, they just kept drifting toward us until I cannot withstand and leave. No courtesy or respect or whatsoever.

Every time I go fishing, and I mean every time, some ahole runs full speed in casting distance to me. Waking the hell out my boat to the point that I'll take on water. I have a 15' John Boat and just because I don't have a 60k boat that doesn't mean I don't matter. They have the whole other side of the lake but they'll just blow up my spot because they're in a hurry. Listen guys stay away from a boat that can hit you with a cast and be wary of what water they're working. Don't be that guy. And when there's two of you, someone has to have some sense.
That’s why i have my German Shepard on the boat at all time just for that reason. He would’ve made an effort or it would’ve gotten ugly.

There is no place for that language. You have the ability to edit it out. I have encouraged my son to watch your channel because of the good content. I understand getting upset by what happened but you have the option to edit the languages out of your video. I am disappointed.

My .02 cents. Those guys without a trolling motor was there first and had already established a plan and direction they were going and that was with the wind. You got in their path. But I do agree, the boat without the trolling motor could have gave u some room. No courtesy shown by him.

Explain why the boat with the ability to simply troll a little to one side shouldn’t do that? I don’t get it. These guys made no effort either. This was a game of chicken, who’s gonna move first, and it should really fall on the boat that has the easiest avenue to that.

Not sure what your comment has to do with this video? Those guys weren't spot sitting. They were being idiots just drifting right in on another boat. I can only imagine what some of my buddies would have done but I can say this. It would have been much uglier than the way Ken handled it.

They where drift fishing, no trolling motor and they seen you on a trolling motor probably assumed youd avoid them, hint the comment are you anchored I'm sorry, and the fact that he said I can crank up and move also, everyone has the right to fish and he was no more in wrong than you guys you could have easily avoided collision with your trolling motor, lots of bass fishermen think they are entitled to spots on lake just because there in a tournament just like the assholes who think they own the water when you fish there docks, they probably been drifting for quite awhile up wind, those where just little guys with cheap boat enjoying a day of fishing, food for thought.
I was raised up on flat bottom boats sitting on front paddling away no trolling motor just a fishing, I now have a nice bass boat and do all fishing so I have respect for everyone including the little people who cant afford nice rigs a boat is a boat and this wouldnt bother me one bit I would cut off spot lock avoided the boat and asked hows the fishing guys

I’m a little confused. You guys have complete control with the trolling motor and are the ones moving toward them, while they seem to be sitting mostly still (maybe a very very slow drift at most) with no trolling motor…? If ya watch the buoys, they basically stay in the same general place aligned with those and you guys are moving along them. You’re saying they should’ve moved out of your way, but I’m not sure why you think this? I consider it both boats’ responsibility to give a little leeway to each other, sure. But they were just sitting in one place fishing. You had an entire lake to go around. You claim you are “spot locked” but from the video, and the buoys, you can clearly see you are progressing closer. You’re definitely moving. They might also be very slightly moving in a very light drift, but I just don’t see why you can’t move 10 feet in your path with the trolling motor…
