I have a new line, when my brain goes into worry loops. I ask myself "What IF I didn't worry?" That then pulls me out of the loop and into the present moment. So much relief!

I am an overthinker, and I am more aware of this after reading The Power of Now. Of all of the "gurus" that speak on mindfulness, Mr. Tolle is my favourite. I love his message, and watching the longer videos where he is in front of an audience is a joyful exercise for me, especially when he lets his sense of humour shine. Thank you for all that you do!

The whole evening I was upset that a good friend didn't 'Like' my WhatsApp messages. Listening to Eckhart, I realized that the suffering was only because I listened to the story told by my mind. I feel so relieved now. 🙏

woah!!, yikes,i had no idea there are human beings concerned with this type of stuff, actually letting it affect them. how small could a life be that something like this would cause a person to be “upset the whole evening”? if that’s a problem worth giving that much attention to, what happens if something real and meaningful comes along, could a person like this even recognize or deal with it? what about things that actually matter? REAL things. i am utterly shocked that someone is wasting their energy like this. makes me really really grateful for my intelligence and knowledge of what life actually has to offer. this comment gave me a boost of confidence because im not a NPC like many obviously are. wow.
get off whatsapp and all social media immediately. what you consider problems will begin to dissolve right away

@sonialoves444 with a comment like this you still have far to go within your concious unconscious you can tell by the way you speak about others & how knowing you are one up others give you confidence ego boost wow what's shocking is your response to someone's unconscious thinking unawareness if you really innerstand the unconscious mind you would know why people get so caught within little traps that get them upset the system we are build into doesn't allow us to self regulate so for others unfortunately are still in that mind made self don't judge others because once you were excalty like this in the state the unconscious mind still looks like you are with comments like this obviously you are not deep listener of eckart

After 62 years of marriage, my husband and I divorced by mutual consent. The divorce went smoothly, as did the sale of the house and the division of common property. We shared everything half and half. My husband is going to another country and I am going to a nice little house in the village. I think it's the best thing that ever happened to me. I am vigilant that my mind does not lead me into destruction. Suffering. But if I'm already seduced, I pick it up fairly quickly, or come to my senses. Dear Echart, thank you for being my best teacher.

There are some problems you can do something about and some you can't. What Eckhart says is ultimately true, particularly in the latter case. I have found that real situations are often balanced where you may be able to do something practical to solve it, but it is risky. It may succeed but it may not and it may make it worse. It is the old saying "grace to accept what you can't change, courage to change what you can and wisdom to know the difference.
My point of power is in the present moment.

Almost all suffering is created mentally, and the rest, can you even call it suffering or is it just the normal pains of life?

I’m not a veteran but i read a lot. and while this understanding of unhappiness helps me it makes me think, i work a desk job and find worry. it’s all perspective. for people who have seen actual combat i don’t know if it would help. i hope it would, absolutely. but the traumas we consider grave are minimal to those who fought and died valiantly, unhappiness might not even be in the vocabulary. bless our troops 🇺🇸

This is truth in a nutshell xox
It makes perfect sense to me, but I can't seem to get it to calm my anxiety.
You still trying to understand it with your human mind. Thats why you dont FEEL it yet. That, and the fact that for some people, it can take a while to de-program their brains
You are not your anxiety, so realize that u are having the anxiety - accept that but feel your consciousness looking at the anxiety ❤ something about the realization calms the thought form of anxiety- good luck fellow traveler! I am working on this too!
Practice looking around your surroundings and deliberately choose to focus your attention on the space(the air) of the room instead of the objects and as you do so attempt to empty your mind from any thoughts. You can use a timer. Begin with 1 min. Then set it to 2, 3, 5. As you feel better attempt more. This grounds you and makea you feel peace. Everytime I get anxious, the difficult part is remembering to use it, but if you use it you will feel much better. You know when it works because you will feel prone to simply smile as you can sense joy and calm. Initially it may take a while to empty thoughts for more than a minute, so you may even begin noticing 15 seconds and expand little by little as you become aware you are improving. Practice, practice, practice.
Maybe knowing and truly accepting the thoughts that trouble you are not really your thoughts, they are not even really about you. If it's the mind that produces the fearful and anxious thoughts then surely it the mind and not you that is in truth fearful and anxious. Let the mind do it's own thing while you do your own thing and all will be more than well 🙏🙏🙏🙏
My mind tends to see terrible things and images for myself. I always ask myself why can't I see good things happening for me and to me. Thank you Eckhart
Take a sheet of paper and title it "The most powerful questions for shifting your attention towards positive outcomes" and in it include questions like:
1. What is the beat thing that can happen today?
2. What are the best things that can happen this week(month,quarter, year, lifetime)? (Also you can narrow it down to life categories)
3. What can I do right now to immediately feel joyful, peaceful, happy, abundant, etc.?
Have that sheet of paper handy in a visible place, and use it to redirect you focus or capture new questions. Change location every now and then so you dont give it for granted and stop noticing it. The idea is that you use it as a tool to quickly change your mental emotional state. It only can help you if you get started. Knowledge is not power, applied knowledge is. Good luck my friend.
Let it Go, Let it Be. and yes, we can get lost in the 'doing' Practice.
