I really don’t understand why MM2 couldn’t have this feature. Nintendo would have sold WAY more amiibos and this gives makers SO many options for their levels! It also adds so much charm and variety! I was extremely disappointed after I purchased MM2 and found out that there were no Mystery Mushrooms or Easter Eggs (like, at all).
Hopefully, the Amiibo Costumes will return in Super Mario Maker 3! 🍄 ❓

My guess is because of multiplayer but I think if they put in the effort they could make it work

During the Ness/Lucas portion, I freaked! So many Mother references! Once you become Lucas, it plays the tune that happens when you get a key item, his "taunt" is the tune that plays when you learn a new PSI move, his death music plays when an enemy back-attacks you in Mother 3, and his victory theme plays when you defeat a boss. Same with Ness, except when you become Ness, the sound that plays when you get healed in EarthBound is there. "hurr durr ur overeaktin lel u dum" I'm a HUGE Mother fanboy, I can't help it!
Also, NintenU, you're amazing, I've been waiting for a video like this to be posted on RUclips!
+RaiOmega I know right! It's been a couple of months since I played Earthbound and Mother 3 and those sounds just brought me back to their stories and made me think of the fun I had playing them.
I became a fan of mother/earthbound series 3 months ago and I'm playing earthbound and the mother 3 fan translation

I wish they would bring this back for Mario maker 3…. my guess is that they didn’t want to have it because it would make multiplayer matches confusing but they could just make it so you can only play mystery mushroom levels in singleplayer, or even better if they are on multiplayer each person with the powerup will look a little different so you can tell each other apart like a colored border (red for Mario, green for Luigi, etc)

I have, but the original star fox game is the iconic ground breaking one that the ammibo's were referencing. star fox 64 used more powerful technology, but n64 just kind of fell by the wayside. n64 just will never have as much historical impact the snes had. I had an n64 and i loved it, but snes just sticks in people's minds more..

The Luigi's mansion sounds... I was so hoping it would be that. By the way, does anyone want amiibo costumes that work with power ups? Like an invincibility star that turns you into metal mario, but you don't flash and go back to normal mario afterwards. What I'd want to see is a costume that you can't lose, and have all costumes with a bigger version.

I wish there was a special setting for Splatoon amiibo and it would be a switch. The two options would be Online Match SFX and Octo Valley SFX. Online Match SFX would be the following: a small portion of the loss music online when you die and a small portion of the win music online when you complete the course. The Octo Valley SFX would be what they chose.

I have: Pink Yarn Yoshi, Diddy Kong, Samus, Link, K.K Slider, Celeste, Digby, Cat Mario, Cat Peach, Frog Mario, Mario Trio, Arcade Bunny (Arcade Bunny is the one I like most, and the game is Badge Arcade, but you can only get it if you have a 3DS), Mr. Saturn, Captain Toad, Bike, and Birdo.
