This was another fun one :) I happy to see (and recognize) Octopath traveller, did you find a time to give it a try? Stardew valley was also nice, my wife is really looking forward to the Haunted Chocolatier, I hope that will come out one day...

Maybe it would be cool if you pixelize the hell out of character for half a guess at 12:00, to make it REALLY hard to guess) Blurring it a little doesn't really make it hard to guess

Y know id probably more embarassed about not getting thordans reign as avid xiv player if it wasnt for the fact that I was too busy getting tilted about not getting the triple triad card for over 40 runs of the extreme when i was doing it.
I about screamed when the darkness 2 came up

I love the format of these.. but man. Such a narrow focus. It's 95% Devil May Dark Elden Demon Megami Dragon Ball Persona Blasphemous Warframe Z Impact Blood Souls 2 spam.
It's not so much a broad gaming quiz as it is a "how much dark grimy 3rd person Japanese soulslike or anime RPG content can you tolerate between the occasional Megaman or Bowser picture"
I ain't trashing the content just saying if you're not into grim, humorless 3rd person monster hunting or anime girls in Victorian-inspired costumes, there's nothing for you here. But hey, if you played Quake 3, then you've got a 1 in 7 shot of seeing that game pop up in the current video.. assuming it didn't have to give up its spot for CS1.6

It's exactly as you said and it's probably one of the hardest "issues" that I'm trying to overcome with the most recent quizzes (in this case including more variety). As you did mention with all those examples, I pretty much include Persona in each video mostly because I like the franchise and I take it as a "gimmick" but obviously the rest it's in a 90/98% state of being in each video regardless of the section.
That's why I usually try to ask for not only the comments here but also on Discord that if anyone wants to see certain games that you are more than welcome to drop names (songs, characters, etc) since I usually go with stuff that I get recommended and trying to mix them up with the most "common" ones like esports games which are more "popular" making this weird balance of not being too hard but also not too easy.
Another factor that I'm struggling a bit is to find better quality images for characters/locations (especially locations) which is a bit hard for old games so that's why I usually go with almost the same ones but recently I adopted to blur some things of the interface and people don't mind it which is a lifesaver if I want to include more variety for lower quality images.
Thank you again for the feedback and I apologize for the wall of text but I hope I do get better and have more free time to try out more games and include them here o/
@@fabriihc I appreciate the detailed reply. All I can say is people don't really do these quizzes for the challenge. So you don't really have to worry about that. People just want a bit of nostalgia, and a hit of dopamine. And by "people" I mean "random unsubscribed people who searched 'video game quiz' on RUclips". They're going to expect to hear "green hill zone" from Sonic, or at least one classic 8/16-bit era tune. Pepper the easy ones that everybody knows in fairly often. And by easy I mean top 50 games for every console generation. I watch these videos with others and I can feel their enthusiasm wane when 4 games have gone by that nobody's heard of or played.
Like I said, I like the format you've got here. Probably the best I've seen. There's not a lot of sound effect quizzes out there so it was great to see that in one of your videos. Items is another one I don't see often enough. Game intros? Amazing, but I know that takes a ton of work.
But yeah, watching multiple videos definitely tells a tale of the creator. Like "this person is a PC gamer, never touched a console older than a PS3, really enjoys heavier game music (with lyrics), plays exclusively Japanese titles and sweaty Western PC games, and almost begrudgingly includes nods to more broad/mainstream titles though has no personal connection to them.
I say begrudgingly, but it may just be an attempt to up the difficulty? Like in one video you put in a track from Chrono Trigger... And I didn't know it despite knowing that soundtrack. It made me wonder if you just didn't know what the well known tracks were or if it was just meant to be tough. It was the same with a Doom Eternal track. Either way, after sitting through a few minutes of crunchy guitars and lyrics from songs in games I've never played, it was disappointing to miss the songs from the games I actually did play.
The error with Chun-Li from Street Fighter 6 was pretty funny. I forget which video that was.
Anyway, I'm just here as a representative of the average random youtube viewer and what my expectations are as well as what I enjoy about quizzes.
1. Nostalgia (Basically "Hey! Remember THIS game that literally everyone knows?"). This is what keeps me engaged. Like 1 in 5 should be a game everybody knows. Free points and happy brain chemicals.
2. Nintendo (this is the glue that holds a game quiz together, the lubrication that keeps the wheels turning. Even if you don't play Nintendo games, you still know Nintendo games). Doesn't have to actually be literal Nintendo games, just the big franchises that even your mom knows. Hand-in-hand with #1
3. Quiz type variations (as I've said, this is where your videos are great). Different rounds rekindle interest.
4. "Hidden gems". These are the ones that 1 in 4 people will get. Not exactly hidden, in fact quite popular, but you get to feel good about knowing these ones when your friends didn't. Games everybody has heard of, but you'd only recognize them if you played them.
5. Padding. You know a lot of people won't get these ones. It fills the gaps between the ones that everybody knows. Too much padding and filler and people are going to lose interest. These are the games on the lower half of the "Top 100 games on " list.
Anyway, I've rambled on long enough. I like your quizzes, I just wish I knew more of the games. It's like going to a concert. The new stuff is okay, but we want the hits.
