How to provide palliative care for pet rats: Special bedding needs

In this video you can see how I am caring for Izzy the pet rat, who has massive tumors from stem to stern. She looks a little like "Jabba the Hut". She really can't move around, so I provide soft towels for her to lay on and enough flat space for her to crawl around. She can get to her water bottle, water bowl and food bowl. I also give her a clean soft towel to dig in and to hide in. I have to clean her twice a day and replace her bedding towels. Once a day I give her a bath. At first she didn't like it but she did grow to like a warm bath. I also kept her alone in a critter nation cage. I kept her with me for an hour or two each day in a pouch and I brought other rats to socialize with Izzy in the pouch.
