    Hey dude great videos. I didnt see one but do you perhaps have a video in your future line up that might cover some specialty tools to do this rebuild that are absolutely necessary if there are any? Thanks for your time hope you take care and again great videos!! Right to the point!

    What are some things you should always check, I thought I had one done and ready but it was stuck open tcc solenoid I thought it was the encapsulated capsule in rear of case but not really. So now wonder am I doing the same things

    I can’t settle down to work with clutter myself , I want a parts cleaner for just transmission stuff but only idea I have is old fridge hooked up to a pressure washer with lines in fridge spraying everywhere I. Can what you think

      That's an interesting idea.
      Ideally, you'll want a way to rotate the trans during cleaning. But, I guess you could pause cleaning to manually rotate/move trans around, then resume cleaning.

    Do you block the PWM and 3-4 accumulation?

    • @SouthpawAutoworks
      @SouthpawAutoworks  2 месяца назад

      Historically, yes for the PWM (with some exceptions), and no to the 3-4 accumulation. However...
      When helping out at that shop (recent video) the owner wanted me to block the 3-4. That was a first for me (stacking pistons....not blocking oil flow).
      Also employed a different way to block the PWM, while at that shop. Everybody has their own way of doing things. I really enjoyed getting a different perspective on this unit.
      What about you??

      @@SouthpawAutoworks My understanding that PWM is only needed on very heavy duty triple disk and VVT types of engines (or a diesel with a low stall converter), in all other cases it can and should be cutoff without any thought. I think GM went a bit ahead of themselves by adding it universally across the range.
      That said, do that on the 4L80E, and it will overkill, unless you're building something high performance.
      As for 3-4, double stack by default, unless it is some grandma-grandpa vehicle.

      I hear you...
      It's a lot of hours to create any one episode. A build series is exponentially more time. For example, the last build series we created took over 200 focused hours to produce. It's a big commitment...
      We do plan on doing the series. It's just a matter of when.
      I really appreciate your interest. Thanks for being here.
