It bears repeating that racing at barely 4 months postpartum WHILE breastfeeding AND winning races is truly unfathomable. I don't think people fully grasp the magnitude of this - it's quite literally one of the most incredible athletic accomplishments I've ever seen. Props to you for all that you do, seen and unseen, Gwen. You're inspiring a lot of women, mothers and people across the world.

Last year, an interviewer asked Jan Frodeno if he thinks he’s a champion. Jan said that he believes he’s been a good ambassador for the sport who’s showed integrity and leadership - and that’s what really makes him a champion.
By that definition, Gwen far exceeds what it means to be a champion in triathlon. Overlooking her compassion, perseverance, leadership and grit in the selection process is such a loss to this US Olympic team.
There’s no one in this sport that I’d rather cheer for than Gwen Jorgensen. Look forward to continuing to follow along with her journey, inside and outside of triathlon.

Well I am so glad you have decided to go on to the world championships. They are one step above Olympics anyway despite the fact that the Olympics tend to be more popular with the general public. To be honest I am not looking forward to watching the triathlon without you in it!
I would just go on to show my true strength in the World championships. You are an amazing champion and that is probably why you have some encountered resistance.
Success brings with it a degree of resistance from others as well as positive aspects. Sport is not always fair either sometimes.
Show your true grit and go on to show what can happen if you imagine! Why not try the next Olympics too and do a first in terms of all the accepted norms!

A good case for you to get selected based on fastest overall women's mixed relay split at Sunderland over Beaugrande, Potter, and other top world women. I think Seth Rider was picked over Matt McElroy based on potential Mixed Relay performance in Paris (stronger swim to possibly hang with others), even though Rider was ranked lower than McElroy.

Kirsten Armstrong got a gold at 44. You’ll have 2 years on her in 2028 and this ever improving curve. Plus Stanley and George will be old enough to remember their mom winning a gold. DO IT! You’ve always taken decisions which have felt right, quitting at the top of your sport and then returning to it, making HUGE inroads in 1 year and frankly, this selection process was idiotic. Anyways, we do not control the uncontrollables. What is in your control is this positive attiude and this immense talent. I cannot wait to see you in LA in 2028, winning the gold again. Go Gwen Go!

The opportunutys were not "TAKEN" away, you simply did not accept the fact that you simply do not have the "SPEED" and skill requiired to compete against the taylor knibb, beth pooter, kassandra bouegaurd, even flora duffy, and a plethora of more racers at the legitamate Olympic distance level!! Just saying, the olympics or sports events are about the personal individual human performance. If you aren't selected for entry to represent a group of people (or nation), you have every right to choose to compete in the same event by representing other groups (or nations) for entry to compete in that same event. We, the people and sports fans, are interested in what's maximally HUMANLY possible and not really interested any country's medal performance or selection ideas or international politics. Country's don't make champions, individuals do. Gwen, if you can beat every other human being in sports history competing in the olympics, go for it, by representing other countries for entry if needed. Our body's ability to perform in sports do peak and there is limited time and opportunities to earn our best. Earn as many olympic medals as you can, make history. Go get 'em. Big fan. ❤

I am a huge Team USA fan. I root for any USA triathlete. We would have had a gold and bronze in Vina Del Mar had you not been so selfish. Why not let the judges alone make the decision to disqualify Katie? She is your teammate. She is on your team. You got your teammate disqualified! As a long, long standing USAT member, we members pay for you to fly around the world and compete for Team USA. Did you ever consider that? Your brazen selfishness hurt Katie and hurt Team USA. You can stand on the “rules are to be followed”, but there also is “the spirit of the rule” (which in this case was an inconsequential second or two) and for that I am grateful that you were deselected from Cagliari (which USAT then had to spend more time, money, and resources responding to your appeal) and that you were not selected for the Olympics.
    Karma just bit you Gwen.
In the end, it is about being a wonderful, caring, loving person to others.

Actually a few seconds were a massive difference there. Check the replay at the finish line (5s diff between Katie and Gwen) and stop acting like a princess. Teammate or not - a valid complaint and a right thing to do.

      Poor take.
Just because you're a USAT member doesn't mean you have some god given right to tell athletes what to do. You sound like a disgruntled customer. These athletes are not a product/service that you're paying for. You make the decision to put money towards USAT and Gwen doesn't owe you a damn thing.
Ultimately, the judges made the decision to change the result at Vina Del Mar and it was a tough but fair decision.
