At first I wasn't happy about them mixing so many arcs together, but looking at it in its entirety I really like how they adapted the story and how they brought the characters to live. It is amazing. I would totally recommend this series to someone that is curious about Yu Yu Hakusho, but isn't sure about watching 103 episodes.

Toguro actually himself chose to go to a place worse than hell. He chose to punish himself and go to Limbo for 10,000 years.
In the anime, supposedly he actually deserved not such a harsh punishment, but he likely had felt tremendous guilt over past decisions or not having strength to save people he cared for, causing him to feel he himself deserved the harshest punishment avalible.

Purely based on the vibes of the live action and not context from the manga or anime, the reason why I think Hiei doesn't reveal himself to be Yukina's brother is because he thinks he's failed her because it took him so long to find and rescue her, and in all that time she's suffered such torture. (The way he glances down at her marks left by the shackles and then just looks so guilty.) He also resorted to doing some really harmful stuff to himself and others to find her, which he thinks she wouldn't be too happy to learn about. Basically, Hiei feels like he doesn't 'deserve' to be called Yukina's brother, but you can tell he's working on that because he's at least accepted being friends with Yusuke and the gang.

Yes I loved this series! They did well with 5 episodes! You should definitely react to the anime (dub) which the community agrees is far superior - smile bomb is one of the best openings in anime history ~

The manga is better than the anime.
The original manga is a series of art.

    Spoil a little.
Someone will try to create a bigger hole and release the most powerful demon. Toguro's power is nothing.
Who is that guy? Enma gave us a hint in ep1.

Oh, please do treat yourself to the anime. The order of events is quite different and less layered, but you'll get a lot more context to events that occurred.
Seeing your reactions to the series, along with one other, who had never seen the original material really helped me better sort out my feelings of this live action as a long-time fan of the original work. I didn't hate this live action by any means, and in fact enjoyed it- as I had some ideas on how they could go about tackling what I knew they'd be adapting.
Episode three has been truly problematic for us long-time fans in particular... But seeing newcomers to this series pick up on the connections and such, and the attachments formed to the characters really let me know the crew and writers did a really good job within the 5 episodes they were tasked with.
As much of a garbage person as Sakyo is, he is a man of his word. That's all I can really say there. I actually really loved how they utilized him in this.
There's an alternate translation to Hiei telling Yukina who he is, where he says comrade- which I think is more suiting in this version of the story. We didn't get all of the Hiei lore/backstory in this season, but he has his reasons for not telling her that he is the brother she's looking for. There's a reason she's never met him. I'm curious if we could have more of Hiei's story explore in a season two or something.
Lastly, I loved the easter egg of the older, but smaller, Toguro brother's head on the beach. The implication got me so amped up for what it means.

Toguro was giving Yusuke chance to prove himself. But his bother only seek for slaughter and pleasure.
And he also humiliate Genkai. To be old and pass the hope to the next generation is an noble way to be a master, not a joke or shame.
    So Toguro kill his brother.

There's a reason Hiei doesn't tell his sister the truth. Hiei's story is one of the saddest in the work, I recommend you watch the anime.

Sorry. I really need to spoil this : In anema, Kuwabara defeat that guy totally with no mercy. In the live action, he got only 10% of the power he used to have.
