    I am 34 years old and my tactile processing disorder is horrible. I feel so uncomfortable in my own skin constantly. I have never been professionally diagnosed but it affects me in so many drastic ways, that I know I do. When I get ready each day, it feels like my nerves are on the outside of my body. What would your advice be for an adult living with this? Is it too late for me to get any better?

    • @awetisminsights
      @awetisminsights  3 года назад +1

      It's never too late. If you meet a therapist who can give you a plan, you will be able to help yourself with the tactile processing issues.

    At what age, these deep pressure massages will be stopped. I mean when the child is under 10, we can manage these massages. But after certain age, parents also get tired. And with a teenager boy, these massages will be difficult

      When early intervention is provided and the right therapies are done consistently, the need for sensory supports diminishes and sensory processing gets better. It is not a life long thing!

    My son, 3 years old, diagnosed to be in the spectrum, does toe walking while walking slowly, but walks normally when he does it fast or when he runs. He does hand flapping sometimes. I was making him walk barefoot in park/outside, but didn't help. Kindly suggest some activities which can be done at home during the lockdown.
