- Here's a comparison of the Pokémon Gold intro on the Game Boy Player and the Super Game Boy 2. I did this mostly to compare the colors difference.
I had to edit the SGB2 video to match up with the GBP video-- some of the breaks lasted a bit longer, and the audio got out of sync.
One interesting thing, at least to me, is how fast the fish swim by on the SGB2 compared to the GBP. Игры
The sea intro is a good way to appreciate the color limitations of SGB (10-12 colors on-screen), and how a wisely chosen art style could still make it look almost as good as GBC.
0:42 to 0:47 SGB features kick in!
It seems like there are times when each looks better at one point or another. I can't really decide which I like better overall hah.
Find it funny how the Super Game boy is sort of like "Ok, here's some blury fake colours.." Until 0:41 when it's like "SIKE here have full real colours"
Yeah i am amezed how colorfull the intro on the supergameboy is, since the hardware could only view 4 colors as opposed to 10 atonce on gameboyplayer,HOWEVER. The supergameboy can work in snes or background mode for more colors onscreen but only few games made use of it, SHAME.
Scott Norton As far as I know, this is also possible with the SGB. However, it’s more limited unless you use a certain display mode. I think these colors are also taken from the SNES’s own colors
Great video!
0:03 kinda sounds like the GBA startup
Yea gameboy player was for GameCube so it’s the same gen as GBA games and can obviously play them ofc
amazing ;D
How odd was it that each side was superior at different times during the intro!
Left how u remember it. Right how it really was x)
The gameboy player is better once you use a 1 chip snes with CSync scart cables to a bnc breakout so you can hook it up to a Sony trinitron RGB monitor.
Even a gchd mk2 equipped GameCube using the game boy interface over component won’t look as sharp. It’s close though.
Yep. The gameboy player will play anything a gameboy advance will, except for those movie cartridges.
To prevent someone using a VCR to record it.
@@jdb2002 Why would anyone realistically do that though?
@@Eddies_Bra-att-ha-grejer Give it to friends? Sell bootleg videos?
@@jdb2002 But the video quality is abysmal, made even worse when put on a larger TV screen. And well, nothing was released exclusively on the format, even without preventing the Gameboy Player from playing them, it would still be more difficult to bootleg than using a superior DVD release.
I LOVE ❤ SUPER GAME BOY 2 ONLY WITH START WITH JUNE 2014
Will the super gameboy picture/color look better using rgb scart or is it the super gameboy cartridge that accounts for the color loss?
The super game boy and sgb2 are essentially brick game boys. The game boy player gets full colour since its essentially a gba instead
super game boy looks worse at times but has better colors while game boy player forces color correction witch doesn't look good in most cases
Differences
The super gameboy still treats it like an original GB game, while gameboy player gives it its Gbc Looks
Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow = Super Game Boy
Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal = Game Boy Player
Yellow looks better on a Game Boy Player/Game Boy Color.
It's weird how super Gameboy has color. But it's not the same color. But sometimes almost identical
Thanks for this, but why does the SGB2 look stretched?
*On a PAL tv unit?!?*
Man, if Nintendo was still this good they wouldve made a way for us to play Pokemon 3DS games on the Wii U honestly, its a shame the "3DS U" isnt a thing
It is possíble play pokémon on supergameboy one?
You can play Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, and Silver. Anything from Crystal onward will not work.
There isn't a way to speed up the game playing through the GBA player is there? Like you can through pokemon stadium or through an emulator.
I'm pretty sure not.
What is the difference between SGB and SGB2?
***** It only came out in Japan and has a few extra features such as a link cable port.
+Hexley the Platypus (danylopez123 CLOSED) The SGB2 has a port for the link cable.
It also runs at the same speed as the Gameboy, rather than slightly faster.
no, sgb2 does not run gbc games, only original gb cartridges
It just added link cable support and fixed the clock speed issue of the first one. Running at the same speed as a gameboy rather than slightly faster.
I have this exact game and play it on the super gameboy..But after i save it and quit the game and go back to the main menu after i turn off the snes its never there?? So do i need something special to be able to save my game on the super gameboy or is something just wrong with my game?
it means the eternal battery is dead in your game, your super gameboy is fine, however the actual game is not. the battery inside is just a thin typical watch battery. just open it up, see what sized battery fits and get a new one
ty
Super Game Boy ratio looks too wide. 😂
So the gameboy player does support gameboy color games?
1. The Game Boy Player supports Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance Games
2. Pokemon Gold is a Game Boy Color game
3. Pokemon Gold is compatible with the original Game Boy
4. Pokemon Gold has Super Game Boy enhancements
*Jes but NOT Super GAME BOY kids* 💡
@@symphony137 Pokemon gold is not a Gameboy color game, it's for the og Gameboy. By that logic EVERY og Gameboy game is a Gameboy color game
@@kyler247 That's not how this works. There are 2 different types of Game Boy Color games, Class A and Class B. Class B games only work with the Game Boy Color (and by extension GBA and GBP), while Class A are Dual Mode games and work with both the original Game Boy and Game Boy Color. About 30% of the Game Boy Color library are Class B games and Pokemon Gold is one of them. If you look at the box of these games, you will see that it's labeled Game Boy Color but has a little remark on the backside that mentions compatibility with the original Game Boy. Hope this clears things up!
@@symphony137 So there's gameboy and gameboy color games, got it
Gotta say the game boy player is better
Why dem fish so fæst?
Dude O_O Super player looks awful!
MrDrewseph
Its kind of an on off thing with the super gameboy.
Pkmn red, blue&yellow look great on it and once you put gold or silver it looks different
Super Gameboy is only good for colour Red Blue and Yellow
in fact Pokemon Yellow looks almost the same on GBC because Yellow's Colour palette is based off the SGB colours, and Originally (in japan) it wasn't a GB/SGB/GBCgame (a game that works between the original gameboy but gets Colour when on a Gameboy Colour) it was just a GB/SGB game, Which explains the colour
*Sorry Player does n't cut it today!*
Super is not orginal color 👎
