2026 is not THAT hard of a pill to swallow. It's a realistic timeframe for Chris. Because you know if he said 2025 release date, it would've been delayed until 2026 anyway.
Ya it kind of feels like somebody came in and said “alright game devs. We’re running. Company now. We have to be more careful and realistic with dates and promises or we will get sued into oblivion” lol
I like the fact that they are adding a story to SC. It seems they might not start with SQ42 E2 right away and instead focus on the story in SC. It is a good decision I think.
5:10:18 - My understanding of LTI is this. All ships bought on the pledge store come with a permanent warranty that never lapses. They are also covered by the insurance that they came with at the time of purchase, which can lapse. Example: A Polaris bought at this year's IAE with 10-year insurance will have a permanent warranty, but the insurance will lapse after 10 years from the 1.0 release. A Polaris bought at concept with LTI will never have the insurance or warranty lapse. The only question left is what level of insurance will LTI be?
@@echo5827 5 years ago: that the issue the ever changing way they say things will work, I was hoping that this 1.0 talk wouldn’t leave things like medical and insurance open to speculation, looks like they’ve opened a can of spectrum sand worms.
You two work really good together with some very good commentary. I bet you both got a really good audience as well. So thanks. Stick together for more in the future! As for all that we saw - yeah I'm not holding my breath for any of this coming soon. But hey, if I'm still alive in 2 3 years, and Star Citizen doesn't run out of money, then hey, yeah - it all looks dreamy and cool and hopeful for anyone who loves these type of space MMO games.
the player bases and space stations makes me think of how foxhole does its logistics from harvesting rocks to building tank battalions. that new org/social mobi glass with better voip could make SC play as cooperatively as Foxhole.
idk gta 6 has been in development for almost the same amount of time, yet star citizen is 100 times the scale and all. Just chill it looks amazing, this is how long games like this take to make
The crashing of SQ42 is a significant reflection of the product's state, and with the live server experiencing mass issues while Chris Roberts attempts to generate excitement, it seems rather ironic at best.
I'm less and less confident this game is going to be fun. And the demo gave me the same vibes as when my buddies and I watched the Wingcommander movie in theaters. My friend summed it up perfectly as we were exiting the theater. "The only question is how MANY oscars" /s
I think all the player owned station stuff is fully possible once the Server meshing and shard tech is online and actually *working* lol. A station's region of space would probably be on it's own shard a lot of the time, a shard you leave when you exit the immediate space of the station
Okay refineries should be able to refine raw materials to perfection. I work in oil refineries IRL and we get all kinds of feeds of different qualities but no matter what it is we make the same quality end products
for what I've understand, all pledged ships are awlays and forever warranty with tiers one ( chassis ) and insurance given with the purchase is tiers 2 or 3 warranty for how long it is insured. so LTI matter in a way and insurance is for the ship you baught so tech 1 only. If you upgrade it to tiers 5 and it dies, you get a tiers one back. That would be weird otherwise
On shards, they even point directly at several shards (on the grab the shieds mission talk, he said 'accross all shards') Problem with citizenCon is it ruins the next 6 month because the PU feels so drys after that and it ruins the next 6 month when copium is down and the content did show and then the cycle restart :P
They must have quit on the RSI Galaxy ship. Instead, they decided to instantly release a ground vehicle $$ with two drones to take the place of what they said the Galaxy would do last year. They made a $40 car take the building workload of a $380 RSI Galaxy ship. Why no mention of the Galaxy?
They clarified SC 1.0 for org players, yes. I’m not a org player. I don’t want to tie in all of that. Bases and crafting cool. But what about other systems that already been worked on, leaves a lot of questions. Is it going to happen on realease, or in the future? Skill system, bounty hunting, actor status, flight model? This questions raise up more after Chris gave date 12-18 months. So what’s happens after?
All very exciting and a great definition of 1.0. But it will take a minimum of 6 years to accomplish. 5 Star systems might sound doable but we only have 1 to date. Pyro is far along but still.
The main holdup for Pyro is server meshing. Once that's out, things can release at a higher tempo. Curious how effective Genesis is though. Nyx shouldn't be hard to add either.
The idea is instead of buying it with UEC at a store you craft it out of materials. Also, you're doing it to create commodities? To sell so there's that gameplay loop as well. I assume creating a crafted weapon will be worth a lot more than just selling the raw materials.
Im ok for the part that some items from the same some would be better than others with better rate of fire or better quantum, but what happend to all the lore of the company ingame, example orison.. you have this huge factory of ship you can visit to see the size what it needs to craft those ship, but youc an craft one of the same brand in your base??? A company like Origin sended years to develop their craftmanship to create those luxury ships building empires in the verse with thar craftmanships but you can build your own origin ship in your base?? why not only give the possibility to upgrade them and make them better, you still have to buy the initial item from the company or a story but with crafting you can make it better, create a better armor for a ship, modifying a gun with certain things to increase its rate of fire, modyfying the magazine to have lets says 20 percent more bullets in a magazine.... things like that.. Its not that i hate CIG crafting idea not at all, but to me it destroy CIG years of creating the universe toward lore companies like hurston dynamics.. a rich familly that own a planet because of what they are creating and selling in the verse but you can do the same exact things in your own base??
it makes them obsolete for the higher level experienced player but they are still vital in the new player or lower level experience. you need to start your empire by relying on the previous infrastructure. Though you are right from a lore perspective crafting something of a specific brand is kinda strange. Though maybe you would have to gain a reputation with the company faction to obtain those blueprints which would sort of make sense but that's speculation. Also maybe I am wrong but I thought we did have the ability to modify our ships isn't that what the tier system is?
