That last group of Celtic warriors was pretty much the Steiner's offensive
I figured out the faction alliances:
The Arverni wanted lands belonging to the Nervii, and so France invaded Belgium.
The Nervii and Iceni have a long-standing alliance by marriage, with English troops already stationed in Belgium.
The Arverni call upon their French allies, Masilia, to join the fight.
Macedon had previously warned the Greek exclave of Masilia not to make any hostile engagements, and joined the war on the side of the Nervii.
Predicting over-extension, the Seleucids join the fight to weaken Macedon, for an impending conquering.
Seleucids bring with them their Bactrian ally.
The Armenians, possessing such resentment towards both the Seleucids and Bactria for genocidal atrocities, send a contingent of volunteers to aid in the war in Belgium.
It was World War -1.

As an old hardcore multiplayer before chat got removed from the game this battle wild lmao. You got multiple arty, wild tactics, push throughs, pike stacking and mf deployables! Would have had everyone quitting before the battle even began back in the day lmao. Bringing back lots of great memories
Pikes are not worth the cost for the attacking forces, but as a defender it's not a terrible idea to have at least 1 unit in reserve at the final point to hold a chokepoint, the attackers will have likely used most of their ammo by then but it's still a gamble.
I've been on a minor bingen of your videos lately - mostly 1212 AD and Dawnles Days - so your new video, is most appreciated.
Just one note: I always get salty when you say things like "archer-fire". Archers don't fire, archers let loose :D

Great battle, would it be possible to put attackers and defenders at top of screen as have trouble remembering who is attacking and who is defending
I know why no Lusitania/Iberian tribes but it doesn’t make me any less sad that we don’t see them often.
Its so much more intense playing it compared to watching it for years i just got into multiplayer battles very demanding
i remember way back in ancient times when new games would come out that werent complete garbage.

Pikeman can be very good in defense, but they should always have sword backup nearby because they cant maneuver well.

Only way to win on defense is with strong faction good map and incompetent attackers decent attackers are the norm for the player base! But thabks for the good video always enjoy

Hey Apollo there is a game you have not played on the channel called “Yes Your Grace”. Brief breakdown… it’s a game where you are the king and make decisions for your kingdom with your decisions leading to your ending. Seeing as your are the best role play RUclipsr on the platform you would make this story and game so amazing to watch. Please check it out and hopefully one day we’ll get a play through!

also i'd never use archer ammo on arrow towers at the first layer. Only in the inner rings cuz it's the choke points they are defending, but they seem to give up the walls at some point so, bit of a waste
I thought pikemen were good for what I had seen in his previous videos. Can anyone with experience tell me if they are any good
Good on defense and attack if used right it’s just most rules allow only 2 each game max and archer or pika will destroy them in seconds so the best is to use em for last and hope there is no range units with ammo anymore

there was a lot of micro management mistakes on both sides .
cool content though , rome II battles are fun to watch .
siege battles are just too dull to play and they take too long ,
not to mention defenders have huge advantage if not nerfed by rules .

the times Iverni used the move order glitch to get past enemy inf is crazy
i dont think pikes are useles, you just need to know how to use them in battle
Thanks for posting this video because it gave me a chance to watch this battle that I missed in this battle and what me and my team did wrong. But was also nice to see what the defenders and my team was doing.

I love the idea of Baktria backing off from that first wave offensive to regroup , remind me of realistic war where it would be multiple waves and battle would last for several days
