On the SSL Fusion, the Space parameter does not control the mid signal actually, but it boosts or cuts low frequencies in the Side channel. I do like to boost it a little, setting it on the dot. It's really nice on a mix with wide driven electric guitars.
Thanks Ed! Werchter probably will be different again this year! If you like my Video's please smash that THUMBS UP and SUBSCRIBE to my Channel to appreciate my work!
Is it hard to get into running a studio like you do? I'm wanting to work with bands, even do live sound. I have enough microphones that will do what is needed out of a modern studio, but I've not really had much of a game plan as of yet - sadly. How does one get to your side of the "street", where you go from starting out to sustainability?
Thanks for the question: to be honest my clients do not come for the gear, they come because I have a certain vision and skill to make their records sound great. They don’t care if it is mixed in the box or through all my gear. So the advise I can give you: be the best possible engineer you can be and that will attract customers
Did you ever notice how much distortion the Neve 33609 produces when compressing low frequencies? (Try compressing 40 Hz, a couple of dB's and listen to the difference...)
Why would you have the plugins while you already have the real hardware units??? Plugins don't come close to the real stuff, they merely mimic them. My experience.
Heey J. I make a living mixing music and work purely in the box. Many artists I work with have expensive analogue mixing boxes and yet they come to me. How can it be mimicry if the result is much better? Answer: The engineer makes the difference. Digital sounds every bit as musical as analogue at this point - if you know what you are doing. There is no magic. Cheers! L
I love your descriptions of everything. Very detail and no lie description. Finally someone who will just tell it the way we want to hear it. :)
Hi, thanks for the comment! 🙏🙏🙏

Found this channel last night. Man you are amazing. I Love the detail you go into and the comparison videos are fantastic.
Hi Peter. Awesome job!! Have you ever made a comparison between the Neumann U87 and the WA 87? I’d love to see it if you have.
Hey Antoine, it is on my bucket list to do a comparison!
Great video Peter, thanks for sharing. I can't believe you do sound at Rock Werchter - I LOVE that festival!
Thanks Ed! Werchter probably will be different again this year!

Great video. Do you miss the HPF in the 33609 or not. Do you think the HPF option is necessary for master electronic music,?
Hey, no… i dont miss it at all, it is part of The character

Concerning your master rig, do you use it after the mix or do you mix into it?
Hi olaf, it is actually the first thing I insert on the masterbuy before i start mixing, so I really mix into it

That makes it sound like it does!
Where can we here you mixes?
