I have said since the moment I saw Billie that she resembles young Scarlett Johansen. Something about her mannerisms and literally just her face. Now finding out she was an in vitro baby??? Omg
The Vanity Fair interview was really upsetting for me. The whole "I pulled him" thing is EXACTLY the type of shit I would say when I was 14 and being pursued by a 21 year old. I did not pull anyone, I was being groomed and it was disgusting.
My first partner was 23 or 24, and the older I get, the more I feel like the fact that I was 16 was a problem. I really winced when I saw that interview, wow that was painful. I could see myself so clearly, and I felt so bad for Billie.
As a "The Neighborhood" fan (Jesse is the lead singer of the band) I will admit the relationship gave me the creeps, I'm not defending Jesse I'm just saying even I as fan of his music, do not have my head so far up my ass to realize the relationship wasn't the best cause I'm pretty sure there have been TNB fans that have defended him. Thank you for coming to my little ted talk
The thing about all of this is, young teens dont know any better. they often think theyre cool and desired for 'pulling' way older people. A lot of the times theyre even enthusiastic about it and agree to the relationship wholeheartedly. The older people of the relationship ABSOLUTELY know better. They should not under any circumstances pursue minors. no matter how into it the minor is. it is your job as a fucking adult then to say "no. Im not going to do that." it's literally the bare minimum to not start a relationship with a minor. So yeah, minors often dont see it that way when theyre in the relationship, but adults know what theyre doing and absolutely should not be doing it. minors being positive towards the relationship does not make it okay.
exactly!!! one should be scared and so reluctant in this world for families who don't love their children …. Or siblings who don't love their siblings… THIS is NOT normal, this should scare in this world and NOT 2 siblings loving each other bc this is normal 😂 they also grew up as twins, because they were homeschooled and then now they see each other every day bc they work together. . And this is how every older brother treats their younger sister and vice versa, for me my younger sister is as if she were also my daughter because I raised her too, for me she is my world.. 😅 not only is she the my best friend but having been older I felt responsible for her and her life.. always! She is my baby too! This world is so over, you understand this when ppl behave as if love between siblings / your own family is not normal, these people must go to therapy because they must have serious family problems
Well no but somebody else who always gets herself involved in every scandal is connected to Billie. Well...not really connected but Tana Mongeau invited Billie to her fake wedding with Jake Paul and Billie said "fuck no" or something😂 you just had to be there to witness two universes colliding
Genuinely feel really bad for her with Jesse Rutherford. I can’t say I wouldn’t have taken the opportunity to be with my celebrity crush if I were in her position, to get publicly taken advantage of and mistreated is really difficult to see.
the whole Billie and Devon being friendly despite having dated the same guy thing is so funny to me because in the lesbian world that is so so normal 😭
I think age gaps, polyamory and open relationships and dating your friends in rotation (and maybe even their exes) is more normalised in queer circles than in our heteronormative society in general. I think that because we are atypical through the lens of society, our guidelines for how we should model our relationships aren't quite as strict as the guidelines cis/het people follow.
I was groomed by my teacher when I was 15-16. At the time I thought I liked him, and that it was okay for me to be with him. He was 37. I am now 28, and for a long time I blamed myself for what happened, I was SO naive. I don't talk about this with anyone because it gives me a very weird and painful feeling. I know Billie's case is different, but what I am saying is: At 16/17 we think we know everything, and we know what we want, and we have good judgement, but it's not true. A 16 year-old is a CHILD!
This is so true and really horrible you had that experience. I'm so glad you've come to put the blame where it rightfully belongs, with the criminal pedo. Also, commenting to acknowledge that I accidentally thumbs down reacted while trying to like it so if you get that notif, I'm so sorry, it wasn't genuine 😭❤️
sending you so much love. I had a different experience of abuse by a family member but I remember going between defending them (or at least, apologising to THEM for being distant at family gatherings when they were... being inappropriate towards me) and hating them so I carried a lot of guilt about what happened as well. At the end of the day, neither you nor I should've been put in that position.
The comment on female artists being pressured to have eras defined by style/aesthetic is sooo true! Another example is MARINA who fans constantly ask about when she’ll return to her Electra Heart era when she has publicly spoken (!!) about how the Electra Heart persona was born from a terrible time in her mental health and she actively took a break to distance herself from it! Like the pressure to make a persona for an album release or an era is sooooo overwhelming and I’m sure lots of artists feel like they need to rediscover what they actually enjoy making and who they enjoy being :,(
Not every artist has to have Eras. Not every artist is Taylor swift bro. It's her thing, it doesn't start and end with taylor but it feels like people are pushing the Eras thing on other artists because of her career. People's lives are not broken up into Eras. They forget that these celebs are born as people and live like people
when i saw ‘queerbaiting’ in the title i got a little nervous but THANK U for explaining that REAL PEOPLE CANT QUEERBAIT 🗣️ we are not entitled to know Anyone’s sexuality, whether they’re famous or not .
Thank you for this comment. I’m sensitive about people being accused of queerbaiting and was scanning through the comments to make sure watching this video wouldn’t ruin my evening.
@@zeenie5489 the term "queerbaiting" wasnt created by some bored gen z kid, its a term meant for analyzing media and how it portrays queerness. it was never meant to be used on real people.
Also she came out officially just a few days ago so this whole debate is pointless anyway. We are not entitled to anyone's sexuality and people can decide if and when they want to come out publicly
My favorite part of that whole story was people thinking that Arianna was cheating with Tom Kenny (voice actor for SpongeBob) instead of Ethan Slater (played SpongeBob in the musical adaptation)
I think the most ridiculous thing about all this is that people are genuinely thinking to themselves, “we need to hold this person to what they said fleetingly when they were 14. Because famously, our thoughts, feelings, opinions, and understanding of ourselves is solidified by that age and should always be held as cannon.”
i think it's the same problem with harry styles, like let him date men if he want but he have so much pressure with his womenizer image. At least he is free to be a great ally and to let people being confortable about it. May billie feel the same one day
what has always pissed me off about people coming after billie for dating men SO much older than her is that grooming does that to you. being groomed even just ONCE (no matter how long you were groomed) changes your brain chemistry. you’ll be more susceptible to being groomed again or being SA’d again because of that. leave victims alone!!
@@dysmissme7343 i think it’s an easy concept to overlook. you won’t even know what you’re in while you’re in it because it’s easy and familiar. healthy boundaries and relationships are foreign concepts. i’ve struggled with this exact thing in my own life. you’ll want to go “back” to these situations subconsciously because it feels safe. it’s crazy!
I know next to nothing about Billie, but you better know that I am gonna watch a 30 minute long video on her while procrastinating on writing my thesis
@@melowlw8638 of course that's okay to ask! I study government management in the Netherlands and my thesis is about citizen participation and how the local government can improve on that (get more people, especially between the ages of 16-30, to participate and stuff like that).
@@veeva99 goddamn, that's impressive 👏 I'm scared of getting a master's or phd because writing a super long essay about an original topic is intimidating to me
Billie Elish came out publicly just a few days ago so the whole debate about her queerbaiting is pointless anyway. We are not entitled to anyone's sexuality and cannot force people to share such personal information. People should be able to decide if and when they come out publicly without any kind of pressure. Also real people can't queerbait. Thanks for explaining that in the video
Gen Z is hyper focused on labels and celebrity worshipping which leads to this kind of situation. Celebrities aren't your friends. They don't owe you their personal life. But sickos don't understand it. Same thing they do to Harry Styles. Harry doesn't owe you shit honey. He doesn't have tell you who you likes so stop with the speculation it's disrespectful af
Queer baiting is a made up word. Anyone who thinks people can queer bait believe in all the gendered stereotypes and think that people of a certain sexuality must behave a certain way. Absolutely regressive behavior
@@rosywaters3833Disrespectful and dangerous, they may be celebrities but let's not pretend the fear of being hate crimed isn't real. Someone not coming out is totally understandable 1000%. Doesn't matter if they're gay or what, assassins are very much real and no one knows what crazy freak will do what.
Thank u for this but come on something told me that there wasn't queerbating so i never hopped on the trend but i was literally defending her while people went on a fuss with me.
@@rosywaters3833 honestly it isn't a Gen Z thing, It's older gens who create things like queerbaiting irl or feeling like they are entitled to know who is gay, who is trans because they are scared their fragile self could find a queer/trans person attractive
i think where ppl go wrong is not understanding that just cause ur self aware about a personal issue that doesnt mean u suddenly resolve it. like u can be self aware about having a serious problem with addiction and still relapse countless times. plus a lot of victims have imposter syndrome and that makes it hard to acknowledge that ur falling back into a bad habit/mindset (like seeking validation from older men) because u feel like it was never a serious issue to begin with
Also people look away. My ex left a restaurant for a sec, And this girl turned around and asked if I was okay because he seems scary? That was… unusual. My parents didn’t even care.
as a 21 year old teenage baby girl with tourette syndrome, thank you for handling the tiktok tics thing with so much sensitivity I was bracing for the worst 😭
Hahaha. I feel this relief as someone with a different neurological condition. Some girls really were making videos about tics when they didn't have the neurological condition - but it was psychogenic, not "faking." The stress of the pandemic, their whole lives turning upside down, possibly losing loved ones, and all the political turmoil was part of the cause. Then there were a lot of people talking about Tourettes and showing their tics. The combination of emotional distress and watching a lot of Tourettes attacks led some of them to have psychogenic Tourettes attacks. They got therapy and they're good now. It's fascinating. I say all this because psychogenic seizures and other attacks also happen. It's talked about more as years go by, but there's a big stigma around it. Usually psychogenic episodes/disorders are tied to trauma, and they eventually go away with therapy. But it's not "I'm stressed I'm gonna intentionally fake" it's "my brain cannot handle what is going on and is now going a bit haywire." The people don't know it isn't being caused by the actual disorder, because it's an uncontrollable thing their brain is doing without their knowledge. That's still scary I was incorrectly diagnosed with psychogenic seizures and I felt like crap. Partly because I knew they were wrong, but also just because of the stigma. It turned out I have Narcolepsy with Cataplexy. I still raise awareness about psychogenic illnesses because I don't want anyone that truly does have one to deal with that stigma.
@@lizzyblitz07 This is very interesting, thank you for talking about that. I personally "got" tics at the start of 2019, so whole year and something before pandemic. It was so weird. I'm interested in mental disorders so once I got interested in tourette's syndrome. I started thinking like what tics I would have if I had that syndrome. Not wishing I would have it, just thinking what it would look like. Then one video about DID triggered me in a way I started to have tics. It was so weird, I kept thinking about like if I really have it and that I'm faking it and the more I was thinking about faking it and arguing with imaginary people in my head about not faking it, the more I had tics. As time passes, I have tics less and less. Now I'm self-diagnosed with ADHD, OCD and autism. One of autism symptoms can be also tics. I also learned that more people than I would think have tics, they just never talk about them. Now I'm curious if therapy will help me. But idk if I need help, like I mostly have tics only when I'm really stressed or uncomfortable, but also only if I'm between people I trust. I also heard that tics produce dopamine and like...I think that's why I felt like tics are my brain's coping mechanism. I always rather had tics than feel nothing and be depressed.
21 year old TEENAGE baby girl!? Girl! You better grow the F up! Calling yourself a teenage girl. Teenagers go to high school! You get arrested trespassing a high school!
as someone who has been an avid fan of billie for about 5 years, to see people saying she is queerbating bc she said she was straight when she was like 14 is bizarre to me. sexuality is fluid and no one is entitled to know who you are attracted or not attracted to. it's a similar situation with harry styles and people always trying to give him a label when clearly he does not want to be labeled and he will like whoever tf he likes. people are NEVER entitled to know anything about your personal life whether your famous or not.
The issue with Harry Styles in particular is that his band mate has released statements several times saying he is straight, always has been, is married to a woman and has children, has never been in any sort of romantic or sexual relationship with any man, including Harry and he’s found the speculation around the two of them deeply hurtful. Harry has refused to verify that statement and many people see that as a purposeful PR move. Harry doesn’t need to confirm or deny his sexuality, but he could confirm that he has never been in any sort of relationship with his band mate beyond a friendship and working relationship.
@@lisaporter-smith676so because he didn’t talk about a creepy rumor that he fucked a friend you know his sexuality? Like what does one rumor have to do with anything?
I like the low rent, lofi effort involved and the conspiracy theory corkboard vibe that it gives. She should get some red yarns and map out connections. Go full Charlie from IASIP.
ohhhhh i love your point about how female musical artists are expected to change their aesthetic and appearance for their “eras” like you kind of blew my mind with that
i will never understand the whole thing with her brother being creepy dating someone who VERY FAINTLY looks similar to her. Did anyone stop to think "he might not see her like that"?
Yeah no even if they did look similar...it's not actually uncommon for people to date people who look like their parents, siblings, or even themselves. It's the mere exposure effect, we tend to be comforted by things familiar to us. Doesn't mean you want to bone your family.
@@gutter_rabbit yeah I’ve heard of that, but with like, personalities. I like a guy who can make me laugh because my dad has always been the goofball of the family. Familiarity is comforting.
It’s common and it’s also so normal 😭 people should read more books before judging ppl life 😅 bc it’s normal .. same thing happens with daughters and their bff and their own father. It’s normal for animals. It’s how our brain works!
@@hue.main1for sure, my mom married someone exactly like her dad, my sister is dating someone exactly like our dad. anyone we feel safe and secure and loved with, we tend to look for in others.
honestly it drives me so crazy that people were mad at her and blaming her for getting taken advantage of by older men. like dude just bc shes famous doesnt mean shes not still a victim
the obsession with labels is crazy. i'm queer in most ways but when people ask what i identify as my usual answer is like, a shrug and a "meh". just let people live!!
you are FEEDING us with this series but I would love to see you talk about the whole Justin Bieber Selena Hailey drama because the beef just never ends
6:04 I’m the third option because I am neither a Billie stan or hater. Just here to watch Nicole break down a topic I would have gone the rest of my life without knowing about
The fact that Bille came out as queer months later just goes to show that we know nothing about other people. Her new album in my opinion, is essentially about her accepting her feelings and learning from them. I'm so happy for her. :3
and even when you think you have an idea, later on in life you may get confused again lol, I used to be solidly convinced that I was bi, but then I was like no, I'm gay, then I was bi again, and now I'm like, meh maybe I'm actually asexual demi with a preference towards cis men but also like cis women but can't be monogamous with only women, can with men. which translates to: wtf i dunno who cares. lol.
Also speaking of, my childhood babysitter's dad was apparently the guy they based Mr Clean on. Or at least that's what my mom told me and I have believed it wholeheartedly ever since
During her teenage years, Billie has always been told that she looks and thinks so mature for her age. She was always smart but she was not mature, she was a teenager, behaving like a teenager, talking like a teenager. I think she started to believe that she is mature, because this is exactly what happened to my older sister. My sister had Billie's body type when she was 13 and she thought she was so mature and whatever... A bunch of older men became intested in her and eventually, she dated a 27 years old CREEP. Obviously, it was an intimate relationship and when my parents found out...they freaked. But refused to press charges against this pedo, because he promised them that he will mary my sister when she turns 18. So anyway, 2 years passed, my sister was 15 and she broke up with him because he was an emotionally abusive, DISGUSTING piece of shit. The moral of the story is, my sister grew up to realize that she had daddy issues and went to therapy for it becaude apparently, it isn't right to date old creeps. She's 30 now and she's doing just fine but the trauma is still there and it will never fully go away Do i think Billie needs therapy? YES!!!! Because she was sexualized and objectified by older men when she was just a kid and she doesn't realize that it fucked her up.
@@Nothingnew227 honestly it was worded weird but I think they don't have ill intention, I do think billie might've been more mature for her age as she's been through such an intense battle with mental health and was exposed to social media fame that young
There is no such thing as “daddy issues”. There is childhood trauma, which can sometimes be caused by the actions or neglect of a father, that’s it. The term “daddy issues” is used a stick to beat women with for being “psychos” or as a fetish. Men in their 30s who have a sexual relationship with a 13 year old kid likely have “daddy issues” too but we only ever use the term to describe young women and its gross.
@@lisaporter-smith676 I get that my comment is weird but it's the harsh reality. And even though i can't tell Billie Eilish what to do, it doesn't mean that we should all just shut up and let it be. It comes with a long term side effect and a lot of people never get to heal from it. Normalize talking about it and making older people feel very, very weird about dating young people (especially teenagers) And yes, i agree that daddy/mommy issues is gross but this is the term people usually use to describe those relationships, if we can even call them that.
i relate to billie. i love women. do i want to date them at the moment? no. am i very attracted to women? YES. but am i entitled to speak on this to people? nah lmfao because i don’t even understand it either. i’m proud of her for trying her hardest to peacefully understand this part of herself for as long as she did
This is something I have wondered about for a long long time. I am exactly the same and I know lots of woman are. I’ve often wondered if it’s because we have been constantly bombarded with images of what a sexy young woman looks like since we were kids. Magazines aimed at girls and women almost always feature a sexy woman on the cover. Female pop stars with a 99% female audience were always over sexualised in a “for the male gaze” way despite it being young girls watching the music videos and going to the concerts. No wonder women grow up and think...that woman is hot, I think I fancy that woman...but don’t actually have any desire to be with the woman. Does that make sense? When you are constantly shown an image of woman with the message this is sexy, this is sexy, this is sexy and almost no images of men, no wonder we end up thinking women are sexy even if we date straight? I dunno.
@@lisaporter-smith676 I could see this being a factor! however i grew up idolizing and being a stan of literally every male figure that was conventionally attractive or talented. it’s changed for me now as an adult. I love women because they are women. I had always said I’m straight as a ruler as well as she did but overtime I’ve just come to realize that attraction and sexuality is just apart of our human nature and our individual experience. it’s all about what fills your bucket 🥰
literally exactly what i am but i can’t decide if that makes me bisexual bc i know id never date/marry a woman but ik they’re attractive to me it is very confusing
But alternatively, the two parents were already well off. It’s not like they would been financially ruined if they didn’t have billie. Personally, I would pull my daughter out of the whole industry if I had to I’m order to protect her from predators - at the risk of her career and definitely losing millions of dollars to protect her while she’s a kid. Once she’s 18 of course, she’ll legally be able to make her own decisions.
@@Ruth-of1jithat’s the real risk though, you push too hard and you push them away and almost force them into the people abusing them, and then if they finally DO leave, they don’t necessarily feel safe coming to you for safety and help and love again. it’s common for it to come off like you left them when they were most vulnerable, because to be completely honest that’s kind of what you’re doing if you try to push too hard too fast. there’s a fine line of what you reasonably can do while ensuring your child’s safety, and actually keeping the door open for when they need you when it blows up, even after they legally aren’t your responsibility anymore and can legally be in those relationships now
the chances of billie watching this are actually not that low and i really hope she does, not that i think she hasnt thought about her own lore (lol) to death already or like isnt capable of introspection she definitely is and has shown that, but i still think its nice when celebrities get to hear from fan povs that are as neutral and fair and well-intended and light-hearted as you are!! yall would get along well i bet :)
hey!! i love the “chronically online girl” series and i’ve watched all of them, you should cover the try guys/ned rabbit hole, i would watch it immediately. i love the way you explain things and lay it out, cause it’s actually really easy to understand when you talk abt jt 🤗
The first time I learned you lose your insurance when ur in ur 20s was while watching a chronically online girl explain Billie eilish lore (queerbaiting + age gap relationships)
i did get point-blanked asked “what’s your sexuality?” in real life, was definitely awkward to me, much prefer and agree with the way you spoke about it. You give what you want and you don’t owe anyone anything more.
One of the things I absolutely detest was when people SHREDDED Billie's physical appearance for that one photo, calling it a "mom bod", sexualizing her and being horridly despicable WHILE she was (I think) still a minor and too also add on the fact that what people were doing to her, was one of the EXACT reason's why she decided to wear baggy clothes. That fact of decision stood out, and hit most to me as someone that was (and still is) struggling with their body image, and to see Billie, a person I admired for that decision, be basically ridiculed relentlessly as a youngster for her appearance, made me feel even more insecure on my body image and appearance when concerning peoples perception of me. Like... that whole thing just made me fuggin MAAAAAAD!! on god.
another thing with queerbaiting is that the public was assuming that billie was straight..therefore pushing the stereotype that straight is the "normal" and "regular" sexuality in the first place
But a lot of people also say that she is gay/lesbian, which she clearly is NOT, as she clearly said on her Instagram that she likes both boys and girls, NOT JUTS girls
My way of rationalizing the Claudia/Billie thing is that a lot of people are just attracted to people that look similar to themself. So for straight couples their parent might look similar to their sibling because both partner and sibling look similar to the"gender swap" version of that person. (Also applies to Spongebob and Frankie Grande)
Ew, no. Let her fade away. She's an attention seeking parasite who has had multiple mental health breaks documented on her online persona. Then she turned to what every dying RUclipsr does when they're losing audiences, make mediocre music and terrible "poetry." She's not interesting. Her drama is so egomaniacal and repetitive.
Girl! Thank you for encouraging people to look into Tourette's. I have TS and there is so much misinformation on tiktok. I also encourage people to look into functional neurological disorder which is even lesser known but can mimic TS and some specialist believe the uptick in TS is actually people misdiagnosing themselves with TS when they most likely have FND. Tourette's is neurological, it's in your genetics and you have symptoms from early childhood on. FND can develop at any life stage but usually resolves with treatment as it has more to do with mental health and anxiety disorders (which is still a valid and legit diagnosis) FND can mimic other health issues too but it's basically when there isn't physically anything wrong with your body but something is causing your brain to think and act like there is. OMG this has gotten way too long but I had to do my daily advocacy for TS and FND because we need people to learn about both so accurate diagnoses and treatment can occur. You're a queen.
Wait so you're telling me that when I went to see her live, and a man was cleaning the stage and everyone was freaking the hell out... you're telling me that was her dad? I thought we were all just like.. really into the janitor? I thought it was like . Just this joke thing that we all did? Im dying rn
I do believe her parents trie to step in during her relationship with what’s his face when she was 16 because in the song happier than ever she actually says that he wanted her to push them away so she did. I think that’s why she ended up so depressed after that relationship. I hope for all of the best things for her!
nicole i was playing this video outloud in my room with my sister and my sister said "she sounds like a mix of Blair and Jenny from Gossip Girl" and she's right you do
Last year I had an extremely vivid dream that I was dating Billie Eilish but made the heart breaking decision to break up with her because I could not remember her name 💔
Every time Billie made a comment about her sexuality, or said something like "I'm straight as a ruler" I kept quiet because as you said, sexuality is something that can continue to change and evolve for people. I'm proud of her for doing what she wants, and no one deserves an explanation. Glad I watched this video though, because I was curious to hear your thoughts!
Your comments on queerbaiting were so validating. Sometimes when people ask me if I’m straight I’ll say “eh” or “I’m straight but not narrow.” Sometimes I feel comfortable enough telling them that I find women attractive but don’t see myself dating them, and sometimes I wonder if that’s problematic. But all in all, that’s something that I get to unpack and figure out and don’t have to decide right this minute. Demanding a solid answer about someone’s sexuality is never okay and I hate that people do it under the guise of calling out queerbaiting, even though you can’t even queerbait as a person as you stated.
hell yeah Nicole I love your RUclips essays. you go over topics in such intelligent ways and get to the points people may have missed. keep doin what you're doin! ADHD girls represent!
I don't know if this point has already been made, but IF I was in Billie's situation, I might not be ready to accept that I was abused and taken advantage of, especially in a relationship where I MIGHT (hypothetically) have actually felt good about feeling in control of my life. Especially if other people assumed you had "learned" a lesson (wrote the song power) and you have to live up to said expectations.
The whole grooming thing happens too often in Hollywood to boys and girls and it’s sick I remember hearing stuff about the Billie thing and I felt so bad and the ‘queerbaiting’ thing always made me mad
you think it happens too much there because there are few of them and it seems more frequent, but that happens everywhere unfortunately but ppl don’t talk about this , bc it’s almost normal in our society ... and Q and other men in Billie life was not from Hollywood, they were all unknowns and Q friends .. she has always hung out with people not famous
I was dating a 30 year old guy when I was just 20 because I thought he loved me. Turned out he already had a whole ass relationship and was nothing but a creep and a perv 🙃
Beautiful job. The bag works well, too. Here for it. I was guessing you might do a Kardashian chronically online video since you & Jake talked about it on the pod.
I know nothing about any of the topics she talks about, but I’m always entertained by the subjects. But what mostly keeps me coming back is her personality and the way she talks, very humorous and fun to listen to. Looking forward to the next video.
Honestly people who say they are xyz usually lie to themselves. I’m bi and I was SO straight, lol. It took 6 years until I realized I was lying to myself
I find it funny how many people accused a queer girl of queerbaiting. Same thing happened with Demi Lovato. People need to stop assuming they know someone else's sexuality.
Just discovered your channel and the fact that you're unlabeled speaks to me as someone who isn't clear or want to explore more on that side of my identity either (not that its bad to explore it but I just want to stay that way). Speaking of taking your time to know your own identity, it does suck when people rush you to "define it". I had an experience once when a bi classmate pressured me to come out as bi after mentioning my experiences and it felt so uncomfortable being rushed to put a label on your own identity especially when you're not sure it suits you. Thanks for sharing your experience even if it was just mentioned briefly
no bc i love the blonde era and will never understand ppl that hate on it. to me that whole album about was healing and growth. like the blonde fits so well and her aesthetic made sense for that time (clean girl trend uprising) i loved her girly aesthetic bc it was such a switch up and showed her being more comfortable in her body.
i love your take on the queerbaiting. since graduating high school i have decided to not label my sexuality because i find it stressful trying to explain my sexuality to someone else when i don’t even fully understand it myself. i’ve had crushes on girls, i was basically as close to being in a relationship with my best friend in high school as a girl who is afraid to like girls could have been to the point where we were constantly asked if we were dating by classmates. and then last year i became friends with this very outwardly queer girl who made being a lesbian like her whole personality. she used to tell me i’m straight, i’m queerbaiting, she doesn’t get why i am unlabeled if i’m so clearly straight to her,,,, let’s just say she was a very toxic person and i’m not friends with her anymore. it always rubbed me the wrong way that she was trying to tell me who I AM. being accused of queerbaiting made me feel like i was lying when i wasn’t. i’m only a few months younger than billie, we have our whole lives to figure out who we are. only we know who we are, not some random people on the internet. and loving women isn’t queerbaiting, it’s just a based opinion :)
I entered an age gap relationship when I was 22, he is 6 years older than me. We are currently engaged and have been together for three years and I can tell you that even as a legal adult it is very difficult dating someone who is significantly older than you when you’re 18-23. You’re in different stages of life, there can be real or perceived power dynamics that affect your relationship, and one person is significantly less mature than the other. You’re still figuring who you are and what you want in life in your early twenties and dating someone older only works if the older person doesn’t take advantage.
I thank you for this video. I love how u talk about serious issues and do ur best to respect the ppl u talk about continuously acknowledging that they are just that - ppl, but also knowing how to hold ppl accountable
People say that all that Billie does is queerbaiting when she's literally just a bissexual 😂 Bisexuality doesn't have to be "proportional", just because she dated men doesn't mean she has to now date women in order to "deserve" her bisexuality. It sucks to be put down all the time and bissexual people go through it even inside our own community. I've always dated girls and I'm still bisexual, being with women doesn't make me more lesbian or less attracted to men, I haven't found a man I wanted to date, and that's FINE. Let people live their sexuality as they pleaseeeee

Im not going to do that."
it's literally the bare minimum to not start a relationship with a minor.
So yeah, minors often dont see it that way when theyre in the relationship, but adults know what theyre doing and absolutely should not be doing it. minors being positive towards the relationship does not make it okay.
@frankie9373 okay?? Theyre literally just relating idk why youre ranting at them like they said its her fault
people losing their mind over a healthy sibling love is lowkey embarrassing
exactly!!! one should be scared and so reluctant in this world for families who don't love their children …. This world is so over, you understand this when ppl behave as if love between siblings / your own family is not normal, these people must go to therapy because they must have serious family problems

the whole Billie and Devon being friendly despite having dated the same guy thing is so funny to me because in the lesbian world that is so so normal 😭
LMAOO THATS SO TRUE
SO TRUE OMG
I think age gaps, polyamory and open relationships and dating your friends in rotation (and maybe even their exes) is more normalised in queer circles than in our heteronormative society in general. I think that because we are atypical through the lens of society, our guidelines for how we should model our relationships aren't quite as strict as the guidelines cis/het people follow.
frrrr 😂😭
I was groomed by my teacher when I was 15-16. At the time I thought I liked him, and that it was okay for me to be with him. He was 37. I am now 28, and for a long time I blamed myself for what happened, I was SO naive. I don't talk about this with anyone because it gives me a very weird and painful feeling. I know Billie's case is different, but what I am saying is: At 16/17 we think we know everything, and we know what we want, and we have good judgement, but it's not true. A 16 year-old is a CHILD!
This is so true and really horrible you had that experience. I'm so glad you've come to put the blame where it rightfully belongs, with the criminal pedo. sending you so much love.
Have you read my dark Vanessa? I hope you find healing/have healed. The courage you have to speak up is so powerful.
They forget that these celebs are born as people and live like people
You can blame Madonna.

as a 21 year old teenage baby girl with tourette syndrome, thank you for handling the tiktok tics thing with so much sensitivity I was bracing for the worst 😭
Ur valid kind stranger🫶🫶
"21 yr old teenage baby girl" is far too relatable 💀
Hahaha. I feel this relief as someone with a different neurological condition. Some girls really were making videos about tics when they didn't have the neurological condition - but it was psychogenic, not "faking."
The stress of the pandemic, their whole lives turning upside down, possibly losing loved ones, and all the political turmoil was part of the cause.
That's still scary
I was incorrectly diagnosed with psychogenic seizures and I felt like crap.
You get arrested trespassing a high school!
as someone who has been an avid fan of billie for about 5 years, to see people saying she is queerbating bc she said she was straight when she was like 14 is bizarre to me. sexuality is fluid and no one is entitled to know who you are attracted or not attracted to. it's a similar situation with harry styles and people always trying to give him a label when clearly he does not want to be labeled and he will like whoever tf he likes. people are NEVER entitled to know anything about your personal life whether your famous or not.
sexuality inherently is not fluid. stop saying everyone’s sexuality is fluid
@@bubbles4897 i don't think they're saying EVERYONE's sexuality is fluid but sexuality itself is fluid

I will believe this too in solidarity
your mom is right
Good, she's telling the truth.
She's 30 now and she's doing just fine but the trauma is still there and it will never fully go away
Do i think Billie needs therapy? YES!!!!
Because she was sexualized and objectified by older men when she was just a kid and she doesn't realize that it fucked her up.
Why would you say this
@@Nothingnew227 honestly it was worded weird but I think they don't have ill intention, I do think billie might've been more mature for her age as she's been through such an intense battle with mental health and was exposed to social media fame that young
@lisaporter-smith676 Yeah I was put off by their comment as well.
@@lisaporter-smith676 I get that my comment is weird but it's the harsh reality. And even though i can't tell Billie Eilish what to do, it doesn't mean that we should all just shut up and let it be. It comes with a long term side effect and a lot of people never get to heal from it. Normalize talking about it and making older people feel very, very weird about dating young people (especially teenagers)
And yes, i agree that daddy/mommy issues is gross but this is the term people usually use to describe those relationships, if we can even call them that.
i relate to billie. i love women. do i want to date them at the moment? no. am i very attracted to women? YES. but am i entitled to speak on this to people? nah lmfao because i don’t even understand it either. i’m proud of her for trying her hardest to peacefully understand this part of herself for as long as she did
This is something I have wondered about for a long long time.
It's probably hard to control your child when they're the breadwinner.

Like... that whole thing just made me fuggin MAAAAAAD!! on god.
That was such a weird kerfuffle. Okay, she's busty and kinda short, so what? That's an extremely normal body type.
these lore vids are like taking a shot of straight lightning in the nicest way
another thing with queerbaiting is that the public was assuming that billie was straight..therefore pushing the stereotype that straight is the "normal" and "regular" sexuality in the first place
But a lot of people also say that she is gay/lesbian, which she clearly is NOT, as she clearly said on her Instagram that she likes both boys and girls, NOT JUTS girls
INTERPRETING THIS AS A PERSONAL HOLIDAY GIFT TO ME AND I AM SO VERY GRATEFUL.
As a fellow devoted strokes fan, I would love a chronically online girl explains The Strokes lore 👀
they get the nepo baby pass i love em 💅
IM SO GLAD YOURE TALKING ABOUT THIS AHHHH
Being called a 24 year old baby girl made me unreasonably happy as a 21 year old man
21 year old baby*
Genuinely I love these videos so much, especially because the pictures help SO MUCH
My way of rationalizing the Claudia/Billie thing is that a lot of people are just attracted to people that look similar to themself. So for straight couples their parent might look similar to their sibling because both partner and sibling look similar to the"gender swap" version of that person. (Also applies to Spongebob and Frankie Grande)
spongebob and frankie😂
u should do one on Gabbie Hannah cause that would be insane and so amazing
yes. i need this.
that would be too long of a video
I love the commitment to holding the bag for the entire video. Queen
The amount of joy this video series gives me is unexplainable. I would literally kill to watch another 500…
Im dying rn
Ohhh girl, we need your part on this with analysis of her new album
I do believe her parents trie to step in during her relationship with what’s his face when she was 16 because in the song happier than ever she actually says that he wanted her to push them away so she did. I think that’s why she ended up so depressed after that relationship. I hope for all of the best things for her!
Billie having daddy issues is wild, cause her and her brother talk non stop about how awesome their parents are.
nicole i was playing this video outloud in my room with my sister and my sister said "she sounds like a mix of Blair and Jenny from Gossip Girl" and she's right you do
Last year I had an extremely vivid dream that I was dating Billie Eilish but made the heart breaking decision to break up with her because I could not remember her name 💔
i know you wont be reading this nicole but i LOVE these videos. it doesnt matter if i already know about the topic i can listen to you for hours
I adore how passionate nicole is when she’s unraveling the lore in these videos
Your comments on queerbaiting were so validating. Sometimes when people ask me if I’m straight I’ll say “eh” or “I’m straight but not narrow.” Sometimes I feel comfortable enough telling them that I find women attractive but don’t see myself dating them, and sometimes I wonder if that’s problematic. But all in all, that’s something that I get to unpack and figure out and don’t have to decide right this minute. Demanding a solid answer about someone’s sexuality is never okay and I hate that people do it under the guise of calling out queerbaiting, even though you can’t even queerbait as a person as you stated.
whenever Nicole posts a new video, its like a breath of fresh air.
hell yeah Nicole I love your RUclips essays. you go over topics in such intelligent ways and get to the points people may have missed. keep doin what you're doin! ADHD girls represent!
I HATE the way people talk about a brother and sister as if it's creepy. They are literally siblings and it's healthy to love your family.
Turned out he already had a whole ass relationship and was nothing but a creep and a perv 🙃
this was not the addition to this series that i thought it was going to be, but it sure is the addition that i needed
I know you've been doing this format for a while, but I gotta say the set with the photos on the wall and you standing up is so funny and cool to me
Beautiful job.
I LOVE this series so much its so informative about topics that i literally had no idea even existed????
Just discovered your channel and the fact that you're unlabeled speaks to me as someone who isn't clear or want to explore more on that side of my identity either (not that its bad to explore it but I just want to stay that way).
Speaking of taking your time to know your own identity, it does suck when people rush you to "define it". I had an experience once when a bi classmate pressured me to come out as bi after mentioning my experiences and it felt so uncomfortable being rushed to put a label on your own identity especially when you're not sure it suits you. Thanks for sharing your experience even if it was just mentioned briefly
Nicole really doin the most for us, love u girl cant wait to watch this ❤
I need a chronically online beautiful mind moment on hit me hard and soft. Because this… this is the back story
no bc i love the blonde era and will never understand ppl that hate on it. to me that whole album about was healing and growth. like the blonde fits so well and her aesthetic made sense for that time (clean girl trend uprising) i loved her girly aesthetic bc it was such a switch up and showed her being more comfortable in her body.
ahh loved that you shouted out Emily, love both of you!!
never stop this series PLEASE.
I just got so excited for this. I love your wall videos. They make this life just a little bit easier
I love having extreme knowledge of something very niche please do continue making these
i love your take on the queerbaiting. since graduating high school i have decided to not label my sexuality because i find it stressful trying to explain my sexuality to someone else when i don’t even fully understand it myself. i’ve had crushes on girls, i was basically as close to being in a relationship with my best friend in high school as a girl who is afraid to like girls could have been to the point where we were constantly asked if we were dating by classmates. and then last year i became friends with this very outwardly queer girl who made being a lesbian like her whole personality. she used to tell me i’m straight, i’m queerbaiting, she doesn’t get why i am unlabeled if i’m so clearly straight to her,,,, let’s just say she was a very toxic person and i’m not friends with her anymore. it always rubbed me the wrong way that she was trying to tell me who I AM. being accused of queerbaiting made me feel like i was lying when i wasn’t. i’m only a few months younger than billie, we have our whole lives to figure out who we are. only we know who we are, not some random people on the internet. and loving women isn’t queerbaiting, it’s just a based opinion :)
Well now that you've mentioned him, we're waiting for the Jefree Star drama video.
You’re still figuring who you are and what you want in life in your early twenties and dating someone older only works if the older person doesn’t take advantage.
i love nicoles brunette hair being her “chronically online girl era”
I thank you for this video. I love how u talk about serious issues and do ur best to respect the ppl u talk about continuously acknowledging that they are just that - ppl, but also knowing how to hold ppl accountable
People say that all that Billie does is queerbaiting when she's literally just a bissexual 😂
Bisexuality doesn't have to be "proportional", just because she dated men doesn't mean she has to now date women in order to "deserve" her bisexuality.
I knew you worked in the food service industry not because you mentioned your chipotle job, but because you ADJUSTED YOUR BANGS WITH THE TONGS LMFAOOOO
Imma need an update now that hit me hard and soft is out!! So so much lore🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
I just watched three of your videos simply because u popped up on my suggested and I fell in love on the last 3 hrs 😭
you should do a “a chronically online girl explains…” video on the dreamsmp because i feel like people don’t really know what that actually was or the qsmp since it like ended recently or something
