I know that there is so much more to placement than the money but I think it's an important aspect for the practicalities of supporting yourself while in Uni. Do you get paid for the time you spend on placement and do you believe it's a fair wage? Great video by the way and keep it up. I'm starting my journey as a paramedic in Sep 2020 as I'm taking a year before Uni to get some more life experience.
2OrdinaryGuys I’m doing well thank you, I was going to go to the Worcester university open day in March but under the circumstances I couldn’t, but it’s my first choice so hopefully I get the grades.
I really think I’d like to study paramedic science, I’m sitting my exams in school in May which will be the grades I’ll need to get me into unis and hopefully be applying in December! I can’t wait for it.
What's your options on the masters degree in paramedicine? Would you consider it? And what additional career paths are there for paramedics who want to gain a masters?
I’m going to consider it as it makes the pathways wider. There’s more opportunities available as there’s profession is extending - for example gp surgeries, accident and emergency, oil rigs ect! There’s so many opportunities!
I’m 15 and I really want to be a paramedic so bad! I’ve researched all about it and also watch many documentaries ! Does anyone have any advise such as websites that could help me etc?
Kate E get hospital/health care experience very important for universities as well as Improving you ability to communicate with patients and colleagues. Ik you only 15 so can’t do that now but it’s something to think about when your a little bit older.
@@elizabethe2696 A good place to start is by joining your local St. John Ambulance Cadet unit. There you will learn the basic skills that you will need as well as leadership skills and making new friends. Once you have done your operational first aid training you will be able to treat patients at public events under supervision. This will give you some great hands on experience and will also give you something to talk about when you get to your uni interview. It shows that you aren't just someone who has seen every episode of casualty and thinks that that's what being a paramedic is like, it shows you have dedication and passion for the job and are willing to commit to the three years it will take. I really hope that you get there, not an easy job but it is incredibly rewarding.

Hi sophie, is your plan to go onto paramedic science after your health and social care ?
Been watching a while love the content, is it hard to cover the cost of travel to your placements ?
Thank you! Glad you enjoy the video’s if I’m honest - it is difficult. I’m going to do a video on this so stay tuned!
