Real good breakdown of Gap Band's Yearning For Your Love, may l suggest play to the song first and then do the breakdown, l guess that all depends on how much time you have, again real good job of showing and explaining how to properly play the chords. Thanks Much

Dude Thanks from Oakland Calif! You are awesome! You cover and explain funk songs nobody touches, especially in a way you do! I been playing 45 yrs - lately having to learn some funk songs for a band I do gigs with nobody has covered some of the songs or explained/ visually, verbally the way you do. I was finally able to get the lead on the Maze tune “Before I let go” from your great lesson- also this lesson….Can’t find it. This is the first time I think I will send some contribution! Question, Where are you based and what’s your education background, just curious, where did you learn? Right on my Brotha!

I tried following you closely but you lost me by saying the wrong chords at times. I couldn’t finish. I did learn some things so that I thank you. However if you’re going to teach you should be prepared. Write it down ahead of time. You called a Bb a B chord. Learn the notes, learn the number system and play the arpeggio of the chord so you are sure of the chord. Learn arrangements of the song. Intro, verse, bridge or change instead of saying the next part… songs repeat verses and hooks so that can be confusing on what part you’re working on. Overall it was helpful. Hard to follow when you were saying the wrong notes or wrong chord name…. Like the A shape with this on top! That’s clearly a Bb major 7. Not B. And yes you can play it multiple ways. And yes it has a A shape but the way you explained it was confusing and I knew how to play the chord. I didn’t agree with the intro using two fingers it’s really hammer ons. Learn inversions , many of the chords are inverted. The into is simply a DM7 to D triad. I cover songs for a living you did a great job but learn music theory to avoid confusion. You did a great job. Keep in mind that even though it’s a band the licks and chords may have been played on separate tracks.
