The CDC recommends total abstinence OR moderate consumption. Why did he not mention the latter? Is it not important to state the whole truth in a sermon? The answer is simple. He is biased against alcohol, and therefore incaple of giving a balanced, fair, and entirely truthful account of God’s view of alcohol consumption.
Let’s get to the point, irresponsible drinking can and has hurt people. Responsible drinking hurts no one. Paul’s argument on eating meat applies. I find the Womans movement of the 1920s and prohibition color all these arguments in church. Wine = alcohol or it’s not wine.
Yup. This is a propaganda sermon. He’s a modern day Pharisee. All emotional arguments to make something that God gave as a blessing look bad. It’s ironic. I think Paul also said not to associate with gluttons, But I’ve never seen a fat person kicked out of church lol
You need to do better research. The greek word for wine (oinos) means surprise surprise - wine. The grape juice interpretation would be rejected by any clear thinking person because grape just is not better than poor wine. Maybe the real miracle was that all the people were duped into thinking that grape juice was really pinot noir. Just get the lexicon out and do a simple search. When you start with a preconceived notion, you do not get too far. Your sources are just as derelict in scholarship as your research was. Are you against it? Then be so and be done. If you don't know then say so. The pulpit is full of such poor exegesis.
Thank you for watching and being interested in truth! How wonderful it is God gave us the ability to “reason together” about biblical subjects. During the video - multiple references are made to the “varying translations” of the words used for wine in Old and New Testaments. The point was made that “wine” throughout the Bible references many different forms of grapes and their juice (which includes alcoholic wine). This is proper exegesis - perhaps you could clarify where precisely the poor exegesis is specifically. Thanks for engaging the biblical content in this video - Bible study is always a good thing (Acts 17:11).
Ur response is because ur r a proponent of alcohol. Clear an simple. Just a simple question; where is the benefit of social drinking or any type thereof. Are u willing to "roll the dice" on what type of influence u r having on so many people, friend, family, etc
An excellent lesson. Thanks for speaking the truth on this subject.

One drink to many are some famous words, with one drink leading it.
False teahing about what the Bible says. Shouldn't we be preaching on the person and work of Jesus, not a personally biased unbiblical sermon?

The new wine is in the cluster and is obviously not alcohol

Awesome sermon, all Christians, after listening to this sermon, should reject drinking alcohol in any amount.
