    Thank you once again for a most thoughtful and interesting response to this first question - I enjoyed it enormously! I completely agree about his natural voice being his upper register - his natural home - and I think this contributes enormously to why it has such a powerful, emotional effect on us all. It's a direct soul connection and so touches our hearts deeply. I was also very happy that you unravelled the question of why classically trained opera singers seem to unintentionally flatten and de-energise pop music, and also agree with you here too. Dimash is so musically flexible, receptive, gifted and enthusiastic that he makes a fine job of his MJ covers and songs like 'Screaming', but the phrasing and therefore energy is just a tad off-centre. As most of his pop material is and will be in English, I suspect that improvement in his English pronunciation will feed into his rhythmic and energetic interpretations and he'll wow us even more! Looking forward to more Dimash Q and As with you Julija - you rock!

    Even you answer to a question about Dimash, your answer is about Dimash and about you ! About Dimash your approach is scientific and full or soul, is human and humble, is tender and "velvet" ! And the last of my appreciation is the proof that your answer is about you ! Only a very, very kind women can answer in a way like that, your answer is the proof of your sensibility, if I could be Jane Austen I would say your entire answer is about "Sense and Sensibility" ! I like you are a romantic person and even I am an IT-ist with licence in mathematics I think I am a romantic too ! Probably this is why I am so "hurried" to watch your reactions and to express my convictions about your artistic performance in the way of you react ! God bless you and your family, I whish you all the best !

    Thank you Dear Julija (so obviously you are Dear too 🤗). You are a unique reactor, very educational, so warm and spontaneous, with an extraordinary gift for sharing knowledge. Old souls have this ability, which I think Dimash has as well. I want to focus on the second part of the video... There is a fairly successful Tomatis method for working with children who have ADHD syndrome, then who are on the autism spectrum or have some other developmental disorders. On the other hand, we already experience Dimash as a healer, there are even concrete indicators of his positive impact on sick people. I attributed this in a way to his functioning at a high frequency in terms of the soul, but your video prompted me to ask: can his way of singing (especially in high lags) have a healing effect? Is there research on the subject of the human voice (not instrumental music) in terms of therapeutic effect? I am really looking forward to each of your new videos, you also have a healing effect, you have a wide 'channel' through which the light of your great soul can easily reach our hearts 💛❤

      Don’t tell the French that. Reading their comments about Dimash’s version of SOS, most of them can’t get passed his pronunciation. In the meantime, missing all the majesty and intricacy of his voice that Daniel Balavoine would have only dreamt to possess, rest his soul. Don’t know, perhaps is jealousy or envy but I wish they would just take pride in the fact that Dimash brought out this song out of obscurity and introduced it to the world. There is a reason that this song was only popular in France, because it was missing the emotion and vocal abilities of Dimash, regardless of his pronunciation. Having said that, I know he is trying hard to study the different languages he sings in and constantly improving.

    Julija, thank you my friend for such a wonderful, informative response to the question. I am going to love your Q & A videos and know I will learn so much from you - I already have. I have always loved music but am not a musician. I have seen live performances from the those considered the world’s best but recognised something unique, remarkable and almost spiritual when I first heard Dimash 3+ years ago. Dimash has said that ‘he will continue, as did Pavarotti, to have music lessons for the rest of his life’ - he sees it as a life journey. Looking forward to more 💕🙏🏼 Plymouth UK 🇬🇧

    That section about Tomatis was fascinating! And, of course, your commentary on Dimash was spectacular. The idea that our own "inner being" affects how we perform is certainly valid. When I teach mathematics I sometimes notice that inner turmoil in a student affects how he or she is able to do mathematical work. And it all follows nicely the Biblical adage that "out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks" (Matthew 12:34). If your heart is darkened, others will see it and (should) back away. If it is filled with light, you cannot hide it!
    It's interesting that you enjoy hearing Dimash sing Michael Jackson et. al.; those performances are my least favorite, probably because the songs themselves lack emotional depth. It's hard to be moved by Uptown Funk in the way that Daybreak does, for instance.
    Excellent analysis as always!

    • @LeandroAlmeida108
      @LeandroAlmeida108 4 года назад +5

      I agree with you, but i think uptown funk and other songs of this kind also show emotion, just a different emotion. Whether we like it or not is of course subjective, but i can appreciate that Dimash is showing a different part of his personality.
      On a different topic but related, i also see how many people always expect high notes from him, they think thats what makes him a great singer and so they constantly talk about his octaves or D8, etc. In doing that i think many cant appreciate completely other aspects of voice, his songs and his interpretation

    • @LeandroAlmeida108
      @LeandroAlmeida108 4 года назад +1

      But i will say thats Dimash main thing and what he mastered the most is this kind of deep and emotional popera. Maybe people who have been to his concerts can say this, i never been, but i think those dance-ish pop songs should be secundary, only once in a while to give a little more dynamic to the concert. Maybe there is to much focus on this kind of music but that is only MY opinion

    • @davidcullen6797
      @davidcullen6797 4 года назад +3

      @@LeandroAlmeida108 Oh, yes -- some of my favorite songs are ones in which Dimash does very little acrobatic singing!
      It sounds like our dear opera singer who posted this video thinks low notes require more effort on Dimash's part, thus are hard on his voice. But, wow: those low notes he does are spectacular.

    • @kriknut1
      @kriknut1 4 года назад +4

      @@LeandroAlmeida108 I've been at three of his concerts. I think those pop songs shows his diversity, he likes every kind of music and many of his song are very demanding on his voice, so I think those songs is a kind of rest. If not, I don't think he would be able to hold a concert for about three hours. I agree, if I understood you correctly, his biggest talent is not about his wide range, but his ability to convey the songs - the way he uses his instrument.

    Yeah I agreed the pronunciation part, when he sang Chinese 80% correct pronounced which is amazing but can be better, after all it’s not his mother tongue, if one day he can sing perfectly in different languages, he will be unbeatable in this world, although his ranges and techs already excellent and almost unbeatable, he’s almost perfect, I mean in harsh perfect standard.

    OMG!! What you're saying about him improving fast/rhythmic singing is so true!! That's why I don't really feel his MJish songs! The way he sings these kind of songs is just not yet perfect, doesn't really feel right/suitable for him and that's not because of his english! Give me your love is fun for sure but he just hasn't mastered these kind of songs IMHO 😅

    I could sing above c6 when young (up to 25 years old) with ease, but not could sing with voce piena di testa and mix above passaggio. Today (34 years) I can sing good up to A5 in soprano whistle tone quality or in mix belt (in voce piena di testa I can hit high D or E above tenor high C) or in reinforced falsetto (falsettone). The low notes and high tenor mix ("voce piena di testa") improved a lot since then. when I was in choir between 14 and 21 years old (and after puberty) I sang in the bass naipe and soprano but I am a tenor (maybe a spinto or dramatic, f# is the passagio).

    re: pronunciation. As a French native speaker, I would LOVE for Dimash to collaborate with composer of SOS Luc Plamondon (very celebrated in francophone world). Dimash has been singing SOS for over a decade, and I'm a little disappointed that there's been no French improvement in SOS, specially since this song his what brought him fame to the world. His rendition of SOS at The Singer was actually the very worst for his pronunciation in SOS. If Luc Plamondon accepted to work with him, maybe new songs, maybe a holographic duet with original singer Daniel Belavoine, I think that could be spectacular.
