    12:15 what's that greenish liquid inside water containers?

    • @OCAVIARY
      @OCAVIARY  3 года назад +1

      That’s a vitamin supplement in the water. It turns yellow however because the drinkers are blue it appears green

      @@OCAVIARY I guessed so, but wasn't sure. How often do you give vitamins to your birds? Great channel by the way 👍

    Outstanding work with your bird room. Very impressed with your setup. Since watching your video, I have been searching for UPVC cages, but I just can’t find them in the United States. I have to believe that it is possible to find them. Just wondering if by chance you know of a company out here that sells them, or perhaps you know of a bird fancier out here who owns cages like this that I might be able to connect with to find out where they got their cages? Any response much appreciated.

    Where are you from? The Siskins are a popular kind of bird in my hometown in wild, northern eastern part of China. wild siskins are easy to tame as well.

    Hello mr,
    I was wondering what colour food youre using?
    The red and the yellow?
    Which brand etc.
    Thanks in advance!

    • @OCAVIARY
      @OCAVIARY  4 года назад

      The red soluble colour feed in the water is Caraphyll Red
      The yellow is actually just egg food from Supablend. And the red egg food is unbranded from eBay

    Nice birds. Have u thought about crossing a greenie with a bully or a linnet with a bully. I fancy starting the birds again and trying it. Pity u dont have a white/blue cinnamon carrier norwich cock. It would of been a nice pairing for the cinnamon hen to breed fawns. Good luck for the show season if there is one.

    • @OCAVIARY
      @OCAVIARY  4 года назад +2

      Martin Gentles yes I’m trying to find a bully hen for next year to do a hybrid with, however they aren’t an easy one to come across.
      And definitely with the Norwich, I’m hoping to be able to pick one up at a show if there are any. I’m looking for a cinnamon carrier so when paired to the cinnamon hen will produce cinnamons and normals

    What would you do with the sterile mule hens!!!! Or they aren't sterile!!!

    • @OCAVIARY
      @OCAVIARY  4 года назад +1

      As a general rule they are infertile. However exceptions do occur.
      I use them as foster parents for finches

    Very interesting stuff , I have a question , how can you tell between a cock and hen goldfinch ???
    This years birds with orange masks , do they have to be a certain age before you can tell the difference .?
