      Luka for the 1st 9 minutes, Kyrie coming off the bench at 6-7 minutes. Keep one of them out there at all times and limit both of them being out there as much as you can if you’re playing a team with multiple quick offensive threats from the outside. Marshall should start and Grimes should be coming off the bench when Klay needs his first break. Get Omax out there for defense and rebounding behind PJ. If he can’t cut it, get rid of him and get someone who can.
      They need energy on defense and rebounding. Kleber/Powell can’t cut it. OKC is pulling away and you can’t overplay Luka and Kyrie to stay in games. 36-37 minutes a game MAXIMUM! No more 40 minute performances.

    I agree, luka needs to mature. Shouting at teammates for their defense while he himself gets blown by and giving up on plays just because hes talking to refs is not good for the overall morale of the team.
    And I would love Naji and Lively as the starter. Sacrifice a little bit of defense for a potentially unstoppable offense. Or may replace Klay with Pj if you want a more defensive lineup. But Naji and Lively has to play more with Luka and Kyrie, that play making and ball handling is just so damn good

    • @SDesWriter
      @SDesWriter 7 часов назад +1

      Luka and Kyrie shouldn’t be playing together so much. If I never see Spencer out there trying to play point guard and hit jump shots again, I’ll be happy. It’s ridiculous to have both of them on the court when you have your strongest lineup which is also a little weak defensively on the perimeter. Better to make sure you have one in at all times fresh alongside Marshall or Grimes to solidify the defense. Gafford is better with Luka, while Lively is extra offense, which the bench needs.
      Extra points in the first 6 minutes of the game is pointless if you go cold when you bring in your first substitutions.

    • @SDesWriter
      @SDesWriter 7 часов назад +7

      No. Not only is Thompson doing an adequate job on perimeter defense, he’s most effective on offense when he’s playing with Luka. If you’re going to sit someone to balance out offense and defense, you should be sitting Kyrie and bringing him in at six minutes so Grimes or Naji can start. The last thing this team needs is Klay playing with Dinwiddie as the point guard. Just make him completely ineffective.

    Luka absolutely needs to mature. I will say tho it’s beginning of season he’s clearly frustrated trying to get into rhythm and shape so I think that’s a part of it. I have a crazy idea. I know people going to torsh me for it but hear me out. I think our starting line up should be Luka klay naji pj and gafford. kyrie is our second best player and a lot of night our best player but we need defense and size and our bench need playmaking and scoring, Kyrie is super passive bcs luka take all the shot at the first quarter so if he is not with luka on the field he can be as aggresive as possible and he can play with lively with the added playmaking. Of course we can stunt the times of play so no player play a whole quarter (no more luka shuking dhot gor a full quarte) and kyrie will play 30 min plus and of course he will going to close games.Starting gafford is to absorb fouls lively is our best center but he fouls a lot. So starter luka , klay, naji, pj, gafford and our bench kyrie , dinwiddie , grimms , maxi (when he is back ), lively. Also it will be great to trade maxi , hardy and something else for a more competent 4 but that will be a dream come true.

      you take too many shots and when they score on us now u passing the ball to Klay Kyrie!!? to save you for example the 3rd and 4th - 2nd half against the pacers

      You are 100% correct. Stop trying to make Dinwiddie work. He’s an emergency sub ONLY. It should be Kyrie, Luka or both at all times. I’d say Grimes & Klay with Luka because Naji can help Kyrie more with the PG duties.

      @SDesWriter 7 часов назад

      @@-deedee I would play Grimes instead of Najee in the starting lineup. Marshall deserves it more but he’s way more helpful to Kyrie who is not a real point guard. Play Klay with Luka for an extra jump shooter, and let Naji have more scoring opportunities with Kyrie and Lively.

    The Mavs need to move the ball more-no more relying solely on pick-and-roll or iso plays, especially with Luka! I get it in previous years, but now, i think this is the deepest team the Mavs have had since the 2011 championship team. Luka should involve his teammates more on offense.
    I don't know, maybe he’s too fixated on his stats to win MVP this year? But someone should also tell him that if the Mavs' record isn't great, his chances of winning MVP decrease too. He should focus more on the overall team performance-getting everyone involved and finding their rhythm. This will create more scoring options and make it tougher for opponents to lock down everyone.
    Defensively, Luka should also step up. He needs to stop complaining to the refs during plays, which leaves the team in a 4v5 situation. It’s all about effort; even if he’s not the fastest, he should show effort on defensive rotations. This usually leads to better overall team defense. I often see his teammates scrambling to cover for Luka's man.
    Come on, Luka! You have a solid team now-utilize them wisely!
    And just to be clear, I'm not a Luka hater-I'm actually a big fan. But some things need to change, because I genuinely believe the Mavs can win it all this year if they just maximize everyone's potential.

    • @SDesWriter
      @SDesWriter 2 часа назад

    • @bdg1103
      @bdg1103 2 часа назад

      @SDesWriter I knew you’d chime in on this thread. Yes, I’m well aware of what an assist is. And you know Luka was also the scoring leader last year, right? That means he had the ball a lot. His usage rate was the highest, too.
      When I say he should involve his teammates more, I mean he shouldn't dominate the ball as much. Swing it around. If that means fewer assists for him, and someone else gets the assist, so be it, as long as the ball is moving.
      Don’t you see any flaws in Luka's game at all? Anything he could improve on?

    • @SDesWriter
      @SDesWriter Час назад

      @ everyone can improve, but when you’re the best scorer in the league, the second best at assists, and the 10th best at rebounds, it’s insane to say that you’re harming your team. You let me know who can get a shot for themselves. Is it Klay? How about PJ? Gafford? Explain to me the benefit of just passing the ball around to see what happens?
      There’s a great interview with Kobe Bryant floating around talking about that style offense and I believe the word he uses is garbage (maybe accidental). You pass the ball around hoping something might happen and in the meantime you kill off large portions of the shot clock, give opportunities for steals or turnovers, and often wind up with garbage shots from your less talented shooters. he and Phil Jackson believed you only run plays to get certain people a shot and then you have a back up plan if it doesn’t work out. That’s not how Kidd coaches so feel free to be annoyed at him but what I’m trying to figure out is why you take it out on Dončić when what you’re suggesting isn’t followed by any team in the NBA unless they have players who can beat their man off the dribble like what happens with Kyrie.
      Thompson has 86 shots in seven games and he often passes up jumpers to get the ball to players with a better situation. Washington has two games of 0-10 so far, and Gafford is pretty much useless if he gets the ball more than 3 feet from the rim. But your suggestion is for the best scorer in the NBA to throw to a random teammates so it can be passed around and hopefully one of these guys is going to create a shot for themselves that’s better than what Doncic is going to get?
      I don’t care how many times we have this argument, if you’re going to blame the best passer in the NBA for having teammates who can’t create and a coach who doesn’t call specific plays to get certain players in situations advantageous to them, I’m always going to respond Because dumb is dumb no matter how many times you say it.

    • @bdg1103
      @bdg1103 54 минуты назад

      @@SDesWriter It's not just about random passes, but about running plays. Take Klay Thompson, for example-it's like they are not running any plays for him. He's just there running around trying to get free, and when he does, he still doesn't get the ball (most of the time).
      And are you suggesting the offense should focus solely around Luka and Kyrie? Even Coach Kidd has emphasized in his press conferences that they need to involve others more. Despite having more options now, Luka's attempts have increased instead of decreased. He should utilize his teammates better.
      Just look at the other comments here and from other videos-I'm not the only one who notices it.
