  • I recently took my Honda Accord Euro Type S at Manfeild. Got one chance to do a hard and fast lap while there were not many other cars around so took my chance!
    I'm probably driving at about eight tenths here. Didn't want to absolutely thrash the pants off it, but it gives you an idea of how quick it is.
    Before the modifications I was somewhere around 1:37, now I'm under 1:30.

      A 1550KG car on strut suspension, weak springs and 205 tires doesn't go fast around the corner? Imagine that! :D
      These old Honda's are so much more upgradeable due to double wishbone layouts.

    Very nice. Thoughts on how it is compared to your integra? I'm deciding if its worthwhile modding my CL9. Also any plans for a 50 degree VTC or OEM TL/USDM accord upper control arms for more camber up front?

  • @thebestmotoring
    @thebestmotoring 2 года назад

    To be efficient in track : the first think you need are brakes, good, strong and endurant brake system. The stock brakes are crape, it's impossible to race a day with a CL9, so I dont recommand to go on track with stock Honda front caliper. You can find front 4 pistons Brembo from Clio or Megan + front Nissan 350Z disks, it's very good upgrade with an adaptation for our Cl9 k24!!
    So, like 99% of cars on track : it's not made to realy hardly race. You need upgrade to it properly. Same rules for the Accord...

    • @KiwiCarLife
      @KiwiCarLife  2 года назад

      Agreed, however it's not a necessity. I've been on many track days on stock brakes and it gets around fine. It depends how much you want to thrash your car and in my case not very much

  • @ziyaadsr20

    Bro, trust me.. The rsp intake manifold from the fn2 type R does wonders. If you can get your hands one please get it. I have the same mods as you on my CL9 Type S minus the gearset... If you want your vtec to go bwaaaaa then get the rsp.

    I see that you always shifting gears when you pass 7K RPM, is that because your cars doesn't allow to go to 8.4K too?
    Mine used to go up to 8K put now it blocks whenever I reach 7.2K, what would be the cause?

    • @KiwiCarLife
      @KiwiCarLife  2 года назад +1

      Good grief there's a whole world of issues with that scenario you've just laid out hahah.
      1. A k20A6 would blow to smithereens if you revved it to 8400rpm.
      2. Your auto would blow to smithereens if you revved that to 8400rpm.
      3. Even 7200rpm limiter is higher than stock, which should be 6900rpm so absolutely no idea whats going on with your engine.
      My car's rev limiter is set at 7800, I usually shift between 7000 and 7500

    Hi mate, do your front tyres wear out on the outside edges more than the rest of the tyre's surface? I am just wondering if the double wishbone suspension doing a good job of keeping an even contact patch with body roll?

    • @KiwiCarLife
      @KiwiCarLife  2 года назад

      Front tyres were all good, rears were wearing significantly more on the inside. Not surprising given these cars are known for getting a lot of rear camber when you lower them due to multi link in the rear
