The Problem with that is the aspect you look at it on, where as with the Unification Treaty all but maybe 2 dozen Desert Rangers wouldn't have united with the NCR. This meaning that the Rangers could be just scattered all over Utah, Arizona and Nevada possibly even Southern California. While in the Brotherhood of Steel Outcasts were able to unite and grab enough to sustain themselves without being stopped as the DRs order to unite with the NCR was so sudden.
Another part to that is being with a mod like that you would slowly have to rebuild the Desert Rangers into their former glory as you can with the Minutemen in Fallout 4 though they wouldn't be able to get the Black Armor.

Who knows, by ordering the DR's to baja and new vegas, the NCR might have inadvertently broken the treaty with the DR by leaving alot of towns to fend for themselves. If there is going to be a New Vegas 2 i would think the DR would be a seperate faction after the 2nd Battle of Hoover Dam, if not for breaking the treaty, then because the beaucracy and high ranking military officials are corrupt and mostly after money glory and land.

The reason the desert ranger armor looks the way it does is because civilian riot armor is suposed to look intimidating to keep people from becoming violent towards the officers on duty during that time.
Wdym civilian riot armour, it's LAPD issued. I'm pretty sure cosmetics doesn't hijack a piece of armour.. It's more likely that the armour system was either commissioned or sourced from a company and it's meant to function as intended.. Riot gear. Gas mask for tear gas, helmet and plates for projectiles i.e bricks, stones, etc. I'd imagine that the system would be somewhat fire retardant to ward off molotov cocktails.

I have to say that the Desert Rangers as some of the baddest asses to ever exist in the Fallout universe. I mean, the BoS is cool and all with their T-45, T-51 and T-60 power armors but they don’t ever strike me as being a particularly cunning or even skilled ‘army’. They, by virtue of their power armor, generally charge in headfirst with excessive firepower (almost always in the form of energy weapons) but that to me is a great way of getting killed. You don’t take stock of the situation, of the opponents and potential threats or assets in the area. Your only plan of attack IS attack. The Rangers though are hardened veterans of the Wasteland. Every one is trained in survival techniques, stealth, traps, sniping and strategy. The reason they lasted so long is by virtue of their skill as Rangers using their limited numbers and the terrain to their advantage. Their armor (though sadly missing any form of leg protection) is high quality and the lore states that their helmets come with built in low level optics which makes them ever more efficient in the night time. Power armor doesn’t come with night vision optics nor does it allow for stealth based actions (let alone blending in with the desert landscape). In a fight, I give the edge to the Rangers as they would plan ahead for the encounter and have backup plans and traps ready to cripple the enemy. Plus with the AMR, they can inflict serious damage on T-45 and T-51 models, especially with AP rounds. They may lack energy weapons but they would be effective at long range which is, after all, their specialty. Close range...? That’s probably more in the BoS’s favor. But still, the Rangers pack serious firepower and combat skill.

These guys sound great, patrolling the Wasteland of their own will, protecting and helping the people. Shame they ended up being assimilated by the NCR and what remains of them is used to fulfill it's overly expansionistic ambitions.
Some of the best trained and equipped people in the Wasteland, all from grassroots, and what do they do? They help their fellow survivors rebuild and take care of raiders and criminals, rather than become another scourge for the Wasteland. They don't have any ulterior motives and lack the imperialism and inefficiency of the NCR. They were possibly one of the best groups the Wasteland could ask for, and now they're gone. (Sidenote: In the Wasteland games, the Desert Rangers descended from a group of the Army Corps of Engineers that survived the War. In Fallout, the Courier recognized a bit of USMC combat armor as the armor of the Desert Rangers. Maybe in Fallout's timeline they descended from the U.S. Marines instead?)
wastelands desert rangers are a cool side to be on, shame they dont get much of a spotlight in new vegas other than finding some of their armors and a few members.
I see why people like the armor it stands out from the ncr rangers more though if only there was Adv. And elite riot gear versions it would have been nice.🤔😀
I noticed that on one of the ranger armor sets in Honest Hearts that on the helmet it has tally marks from the different locations from the Resource Wars that the wearer of that armor has visited while in either the marines or the army (I can’t remember which one) so does that mean that the armor wasn’t just used for riot control by police but also for infantry men?

Desert rangers are from Nevada

If the Enclave and BOS have their own remnants or outcast, the Desert rangers must have their own.
Damn, what would be a good name though?

The reason the desert ranger armor looks the way it does is because civilian riot armor is suposed to look intimidating to keep people from becoming violent towards the officers on duty during that time.
Well they did a great job with it; wish our military all looked like this
Wdym civilian riot armour, it's LAPD issued.
@@alphabroncotwozero392 He meant riot armour the LAPD used to contend with civilian disturbance.. not civilians appropriating LAPD gear. Read tween the lines.
The only thing that makes me ally with the NCR in some playthrough is the dessert rangers. Wish they were their own faction
Just get the desert ranger armor on honest hearts
Hmmm, dessert ranger, yummy.
I wish we could have found a few ex-Desert Rangers in the game who shared some lore on the former organization.
Hopefully if we get a game set in Texas we will see rangers who disbanded from ncr and to get away from the legion and trying to establish there goverment away from NCR and Ceaser rule.
Both valid ideas here 👍
What's with people messing with the FOV to the point that it looks like crap? You can see the untextured part of the Courier's arms!
Because when you play games that have decent fov and come back to a game that doesn't even let you see your own arms or 70% of the gun you hold it feels much worse than some meh textures.
I play with my fov at 120 on a ultra wide moniter it looks right on my monitor the defult is for 4:3 and 16:9
120 is for 16:10 and 16:13
All right unless you have a monitor that requires a higer fov dont fuck with it it messes the game up
Thoughts on the Desert Rangers?
TuphSteel the most badass soldiers in the wasteland
TheDancingDonkey As badass as I think the Legion or BoS is, I have to agree. These guys are something else.
We most Definitely exist.

What revolver is that?
Red Dead Films ,367 revolver or it’s the variant get lucky
Just search for fallout new Vegas get lucky.
Andres Garza Ik but the mod is what im talking about
@@oddballfilms2466 it’s ole scratch from new Vegas bounties 3. You get it at the very end. If you haven’t played someguys quest mods I recommend playing every single one. There’s another badass revolver you get in the first new Vegas bounties as well
These guys sound great, patrolling the Wasteland of their own will, protecting and helping the people. Shame they ended up being assimilated by the NCR and what remains of them is used to fulfill it's overly expansionistic ambitions.
I got u to 1,999 subscribers you have also have gained the subscriber perk
Hahaha, thank you so much my dude.
The desert rangers were pre-war Texas rangers if I remember correctly
i think u do
Some of the best trained and equipped people in the Wasteland, all from grassroots, and what do they do?
You gotta imagine that despite loosing to the legion, the Rangers gave the Legion one hell of a challenge
Definitely, considering how outnumbered Desert Rangers were.
0:16 what mod do you have installed that lets you hipfire with revolvers please tell me
I'm trying to figure that out my self
you mean "fanning" ? there is a mod for it on fallout 4, possibly new vegas as well.
look for tags for revolver/gameplay changes/animations
0:16 what mod did you use to fan the hammer?
They're armor is badass that idc about stats anymore Im wearing it forever
wastelands desert rangers are a cool side to be on, shame they dont get much of a spotlight in new vegas other than finding some of their armors and a few members.
I'd like to think that these are the desert rangers from wasteland which is literally fallout before fallout
I kinda wana see the NCR or desert rangers in fallout 76 maybe as a small squad that are patrolling looking for more remnants of the old world
I'm building something like that at the moment. I can shoot you an invite if you want?
the added the armor, right? I'm sure that has occured in game from real players roaming in that armor lol
Christian R It's marines, the chest armor has USMC written on it, the owner was a sergeant
So these guys are just the minutemen but more badass....and the minutemen were already badass...
But you know what the desert rangers don’t have?
Another settlement that needs your help! Here I’ll mark it on your map!
extinct no am pretty sure they joined ncr to defend hoover dam and nevada againts legion but if ncr losses the dam am pretty sure desert rangers are gonna leave ncr
I'm glad you noted the connection to Wasteland. That's another good series.
Loved the lore side of the video but jesus, that gameplay looks awkward as hell.
Yea for sure. Would not recommend my load order from the time
