I enjoy an artist who has both a great skill level as well as customer service. I do feel like it is important to make the collectors feel like they are an important customer as well. But, one thing I have noticed is that different artists May reach different skill levels in different time periods. Some artist will paint for years but never grow in their skill level and then you will have newer artists to come on the scene who are constantly going to classes and growing in their skills and techniques. I agree with you about the Box opening. A great box opening is fun and I do feel like it is part of a presentation with the baby but it's not as important as the baby being beautiful and well done. Araya is done absolutely beautiful and I love Asha's work! I plan to get a baby from Asha but I do wish she did customs. A lot of times, I fall in love with sculpts of babies when I see the sneak peeks in clay. So I envisioned what I would like for that baby to look like and give it a name and everything before it is even produced in a kit. 😂 Give all the babies a big bug for me! Love you lots, sis! 💜💜💜
Thanks Sis. Yes I do see sometimes where beginners are way more artistic and have stepped into the hobby and are even more advanced then artist that have been here for years, those are the rare gems. I love having artist that don't do customs to me and all my selfishness lol it's gives me exclusivity so I don't have to worry about everyone having what I have. I trust the artist I continously use bc they study my collection and know exactly what I want so customs aren't important to me bc my fav artist tend to be intuned with my collecting style. I hope one day your able to have an Asha pickle as well ❤
To be fair..some people can gain skill level much faster than others. I have been only painting a year and I consider myself an intermediate artist. I have seen the work of others who have been painting much longer than I have and their work isnt as realistic or nice as mine. 🤷

This does definitely happen.
I painted my first doll 2 years ago. I stripped and painted her about 20 times. Ivy by Denise Pratt. She is my forever. Me and her been through too much together. I wanted just to paint for myself but then I wanted to learn different techniques and challenge myself and thought that I can’t keep them all. When I do sell it will be affordable for others to purchase. I have been told my work is very good. I aspire to paint like Alexa Calvo, Jaqueline Kramer or Veronica Lale. Lol. My goal is you can’t tell my babies from a real one. I will always be a student. Always learning. The look of the doll and receiving it in time they promise is more important to me than them talking sweet to me. It is important to keep your customer updated but not a game changer for me. I don’t bug them either. Let them do their artistic beauty on the doll leaving them in peace to do it. She looks cute in that little outfit.
I totally agree with you on this. I also have strip a baby more than once to start over. Painting is extremely relaxing and a very nice stress relief so that is another reason I like to paint. I also have a goal to capture realism with technique.,fingers crossed 🤞🏾
