Bethany Hamilton is a famous surfer who despite losing an arm to a shark attack at the age of 13, returned to surfing and has become an inspiration to many. She comes from a family of surfers, her father Tom Hamilton is a full-fledged Hawaiian and her mother Cherilyn Hamilton studied film direction. She has two brothers, Noah and Timothy. Bethany is married to Adam Dirks, a former teacher and youth minister, and they have three children, Tobias, Wesley and Micah.
