I was hoping we would have seen Sid as Andy's roommate in college. That and Woody reveals himself to Sid to ask/beg for help. He helps Woody and make peace. Seeing him as a happy garbage man was still good though. He was just going through a faze.
It’s not just Sid’s father who’s a bad parent, but even his mother is pretty neglectful and let’s him do whatever he wants like skating all the way to a restaurant instead of driving him over there and then coming back to pick him up, doesn’t care that he uses explosives without any adult standing by for supervision and doesn’t even really try to step in whenever he steals his sister’s toys and dissembles them in some way. So Sid basically has two terrible parents, the alcoholic and abusive father and the permissive and negligent mother. Hannah’s probably the ONLY one in the family that’s normal and it’s sad knowing the circumstances she had to endure growing up.
I heard a theory that he became a garbage man to ether A) get to destroy thrown away toys in the trash trucks compactor B) get to save thrown away toys from the trash
in his defence, he didn't know they were alive. I mean I'd rather a little boy do something "creative" with object than idk, birds or squirrels. If you look inside his house, there is a chair with beer cans. We can assume that he might have a troubled home with a troubled father. We gotta remember he's just a ten year old boy.
It is not uncommon for bad kids to grow up into good people and also, I don't think there's anything wrong with being a garbage man. They help keep our streets and homes clean, and did you know that many of them have had a hand in catching criminals? Thanks to sorting the garbage, they were able to find evidence of fishy stuff going on and in doing so, saved lives. Garbage men are good people who have my respect.
He clearly wasnt evil, he even was responsible to wait to use the Rocket the next day as a storm happened and not do anything like use the Rocket anyway.
There's one thing not enough people talk about when it comes to Cid: it is subtly hinted in the scene where Buzz finds out he's a toy that his father is alcoholic and abusive, which could be the reason why he is the way he is. He clearly doesn't have a healthy life and it shows when you look at his teeth, his bratty behavior, how he treats his sister and obviously what he does to his toys while dreaming about riding a pony. It's very subtle, but the message is still there, but sadly not enough people got it.
On one hand Sid's stealing Andy and Hannah's toys and dismembering them were inexcusable, but on the other, I see it as a coping mechanism Take a look at Jon Solo's video of Sid's father being an alcoholic Why else would Sid install many locks on his door and even go so far as blowing up his own toys? Because he wants to take the pain his dad brings on him onto toys, objects that he thinks can't feel pain, but the movie in a toy's POV says otherwise
Did he knowingly steal Andy's toys? I know he got Buzz and Woody from Pizza Planet, but I don't remember any other instances of Andy's toys ending up with him.
I see many saying that Sid’s parents neglected him and he does harm to toys as a reflection of the pain inflicted by his father, but that doesn’t mean he’s just misunderstood. Look at Jambareeqi’s Pixar villain ranking. Sid really does show early signs of a serial killer, as he seems to enjoy torture and studied on it, since he is smart enough to know about explosives and rockets. Woody scaring him was necessary to put him in the right path.
Maybe he kept them as they’re still his passion projects he made even if he wasn’t aware he was doing damage to the toys by taking them apart and reassembling them with different toy parts, but treated them much nicer in exchange that they’d leave him alone. Kind of like the hiding the pet trope where he knows they’re alive, but keeps it from his parents and sister and looks after them in secret.
Interestingly the first CGI antagonist was child just like first animation and Disney movie was protagonist Snow White who is also underage princess at 15 age being not only first but youngest Disney princess
So the official confirmed by the creators story of how Andy got woody goes like this: when Andy’s father was little he had polio and loved woody’s round up and the show created a contest but by the time the contest ended sputnik had happened and they were shutting down but they found Andy’s dad’s letter and found out he had polio and how much he loved the show and they sent him a prototype woody doll the only one of its kind and he loved it and he got better from having polio and he grew up and met Andy’s mom and had a family but he got sick because his polio came back and he sadly died but he left something to Andy from years ago in the attic in a trunk was woody and Andy’s dad’s old toys and since they hadn’t seen Andy’s dad since he was Andy’s age they believed it was him and the sweetest thing Andy’s dad was also named Andy so they still thought it was their kid and he hadn’t aged a day 🥹 I just wanted to share this for anyone who didn’t know
I think Sid Phillips is more of an Anti-Villain rather than a true Villain. I’ve seen this argument put out social media that he can’t be considered a villain because he didn’t know the toys were alive and I might agree. Regardless, he still felt like antagonist because he mistreated them anyway. So I think Anti-Villain might be a more appropriate label for him similar to Anton Ego.
Do you think Toy Story is really a horror movie?💀 I made a video back in 2021 explaining why, even though Toy Story was not intended to be a horror film, it still has all the makings of one, from toys who come to life when no one is present, to Sid being a psychotic kid who tortures toys and has a bedroom filled with his freaky-looking mash-mashed toys. At the end, Woody saves Buzz and escapes Sid's house by instructing Sid's toys to come alive to scare Sid into playing nice with them. April 27, 2024, 3:17pm
I don't really consider him as first Pixar Villain. I do not like him but he is just a kid and he isn't aware they are alive. Later he regret and he become garbage man. I could consider Hopper as first Pixar Villain in Bug's Life since he is really threaten, scary and have an actual goals.
The fact bro was basically just creatively different and got traumatised because of it, will never not be funny too me 😭🙏🏾😭🙏🏾
You just awakened me.
That's what I'm saying

This is why you should play nice with toys.

That's what I Thought too!
Sid is currently the only known human in the Toy Story franchise who knows toys are alive (although Molly Davis is a debatable example).
Molly’s a baby at the time and likely to forget with age. So Woody and Buzz and the other toys are fine.

Toy Story is still a masterpiece
Sid didn’t deserve to be traumatized, he wasn’t aware that we was damaging the toys
What about Why Disney Pixar Toy Story 2 is so Great?
Oh I forgot about him.
Sid "Let's go home and, play"
I see many saying that Sid’s parents neglected him and he does harm to toys as a reflection of the pain inflicted by his father, but that doesn’t mean he’s just misunderstood. Im surprised Sid didnt become like Mr Crocker and try to prove to everyone that TOYS ARE ALIVE
Forky’s existence brings up so many questions.
Like for example, are sex toys sentient in this world
I wonder what happened to Sid’s toys. Did they thrown out or attempted to get fixed?
Maybe he kept them as they’re still his passion projects he made even if he wasn’t aware he was doing damage to the toys by taking them apart and reassembling them with different toy parts, but treated them much nicer in exchange that they’d leave him alone. Sid will have loved Salvador Dali’s art!
Interestingly the first CGI antagonist was child just like first animation and Disney movie was protagonist Snow White who is also underage princess at 15 age being not only first but youngest Disney princess
I really hope to see a review of Sony Animation.

It's definitely Anti-Villain, Makuta Krika from BIONICLE is a good example.

Hey can you explain about canceled Disney and Pixar movies Originals only not sequels
Like Lion King Fantasia etc
Toy Story: The First Pixar Movie.
Sid's crime is being a kid playing with objects he believed to be inanimate. How is he even a villain?
From the point of view of sentient toys, he is
@@IAmTheEagleHTM It's still a flawed premise. Sausage Party used the same one. We're the evil ones for eating food who happen to be sentient.
I think Sid should return in toy story 5 and be the main human villain again and show the world that toys are alive or enslaved them
Illumiantion mocked Disney Steamboat Willie to promote despicable me 4 I can’t link it but look at the video
Twelth
Lol
