You absolutely nailed it! I took the lower pivot out and the noise was still there. Watched your video and you were right on! You saved me a ton of work because all I did was loosen the swing arm axle nut and it’s exactly what you said. She absolutely just went free and the noise was gone and the suspension is working normally again! Thank you very much!
I would put money on it (quite a lot of money!) that the central spacer in the swingarm pivot is about 1mm too short. Chinese whispers perhaps, but I have heard through the grapevine it's a known issue in RE that was quietly fixed during production. I took mine out (2022 BS6 model) and measured it all up, and sure enough, the combined spacer and bearing races length was shorter than the swingarm tube length and I had galling on the dust covers where they were distorting. Yes, you can get away with slackening the swingarm pivot but, but that's not the answer. A washer to shim out the central spacer, to make the combined spacer length longer than the swingarm pivot tube is the real fix. Now mine is torqued up and the swingarm pivots freely with no noise.
I had the same problem, put it all back together and tension it up until it starts to bind and then back it off till its free. I think the factory recommends something like 72Nm which is crazy tight, I think from memory i ended up with about 40Nm. Problem solved and the nut has never come loose.
CI, cycle investigator. You are good man. We should get ready cause Winter is here. You guys endure. Spring is not that far off, although it will seem like it. Stay safe, warm, and dry. And again, YOU DA MAN!!!!
Hey Shawn and Kelly! It’s getting cold outside!! Get your butts back in the house, I miss seeing my patch in the background!😁 On another note, Shawn, did you see Casey has a couple new videos out? I’ve missed that dude!! He is an amazing person! Hope you and Kelly have a Wonderful Christmas!!!
Oh yeah..! But I don't mess with that unless it's something serious. Not having anyone touch one of my bikes when I can do it myself, even if I have to purchase parts. Thanks Jeff!!

Thanks so much Chris for always being here, it's very much appreciated sir!!
Mine was the swing arm bolt, too tight, took it all apart re greased and put back together not so tight 😂
“She’s bound up.” Probably not getting enough fiber! Lol! Y’all have a great day. Peace and love.

👍👍
😎💯🍻✌️
Mine is doing the same thing. Could I loosen the nut and tighten to proper work spec or will I have to take it apart completely?
Mine too. Is It sufficient to re Torque to proper specs?
Hey man, same problem, did you try to just retorque the bolt to proper spec?
57 nm is max . 40 nm min ., looked way over torqued
Warranty work?
Yeah, if I wanted to, but I'm not taking the time to deal with all that...
Thanks!!
No warranty on that puppy 😬🤔
