I have been loving this set! Very thematic and so much fun. 9/10 is exactly how I feel 😁 2:14 - Also, a few of the gamegenic play mats do have the info on them. In this set, the green speeder bike mat has the info printed on it. I have no idea why they decided to just put it on some of the mats 🤷♂️
There are also some fantastic custom ones on Etsy. I have a few that are beautiful with really helpful spaces etc on them. The paper ones are horrific lol.
Yeah, amongst certain groups of friends it's kinda invalidated almost all of my two player non co-op games. With them I basically play Battle Line, SWU...and that's it.
Great review Tom! I’ve gone to buy this game a few times but have ended up holding back as I’m not a fan of Star Wars but also because I still haven’t payed Netrunner and figured I was better off giving that one a go. But then Star Wars Unlimited looks like it could be good, and you rate it highly… eventually I’ll get one of them though I’m still not too sure on which one.
@@markusbiewer2756Thanks for that advice. Have you also played, Lorcana? Looking at it compared to SWU, I think SWU is the superior game but the locals near me play Lorcana.
I'm so torn on Twilight of the Republic. Probably the best set so far for Draft/Sealed, some really fun leaders, great new mechanics, and the same excellent core card play. On the other hand, Tom, it wasn't your imagination--for the starter decks, the Ahsoka deck is *so* much stronger than the Grievous one to the point where it's a flaw in the design. Probably the least balanced starter set yet. All that being said, I agree with your rating--for me though, it's a 10/10 and that imbalance is what knocks it down a point.
Can we just get one complete game with all relevant cards that I can play at home with friends? I don’t care about the trading aspect one bit but just want a complete game with the mechanics used here

@CamObscura88 so true! Thank you for bringing up Etsy! The game tokens you can find on Etsy are awesome too
SWU is so so so good man.
Only negative thing I have to say about it is I’ve stopped playing a lot of board games since it came out in March 😅

@@sylinmino I've just sold every two player game I own now. Such a Radlands killer too.
I am with you Tom in that I play casually and love theme decks over ultra competitive.
Fantastic review! The Nordic Fleet Approves™
Tom, I also prefer the mat with the labeled sections, and I found a Death Star felt mat that DOES also have the labels. Love it!
Havn't played the new sets yet, but preferring this theme over the bounty hunters/Mandalorian decks of the first expansion

Star Wars Unlimited is easier to get into than Netrunner. Both games are excellent, though.

Ziro the Hutt is in the Clone Wars movie. You should check it out.
Ziro the Hutt is Jabba's uncle. He sounds and acts like Truman Capote, at the specific request of George Lucas. Yes, really.
Such a good game

Just split a booster box with your friends and you have enough cards to build some casual decks.
@ I really don’t like building decks though
If you don’t want to deck build, I’d just buy the starter decks for each set. They’re fun!
Star Wars the DeckBuilding game is pretty close actually….
You may prefer the multiplayer version of Star Wars Unlimited called Twin Suns if it's against friends rather than friend
This game dried up so quick in my region. Not seeing any buzz for this new set either. Oh well.
