Tor des Géants | Back on track

The Tor des Géants (TDG or the TorX) is one of the hardest trail running races in the world.
It starts in Courmayeur, Italy and then go up and down around the Aosta Valley.
Runners will take trails among the high mountains, go over passes in the Alps and travel through ancient Roman towns.
We followed a Chinese runner Zheng Junyue for six days to document her journey fighting against cough, fatigue, sore legs.
The cut-off time is 150 hours.

Very nice! I did it in 2021 after a DNF in 2018 at Niel. I had also suffered every year from high altitude, with cough and so on. We had similar times until the 5th base vita (Valtourenche?). I slept there 5 or 6 hours, leaving in the morning. You left still in the night and reached the last base via later than me. Then I didn't stop in Ollomont and went through as fast as I could, with only 1 hour of sleep at Bosses, and finished in exactly 123:45 (a special number). That did qualify me for Tor des Glaciers, which I tried last year but quit early because I realised that it is almost impossible to the race without support. It was very cold and I was shivering, without any dry shirts, so it was bye-bye for me at km 67. This year I will try again with support. Let's hope for the best :)
