Yeah that happened to me too. I was making my super sim and wanted to give her an idyllic single child early babyhood nope her and 2 brothers.
...and meanwhile, I got triplets two different times while NOT on Ley Line, no fertility massages, with just the fertility trait. (The first time, my matriarch HAD been on ley line before, but wasn't anymore, and did not have that trait.)
For Rye to have a baby you should definitely do a science baby. No relationship, just a strong independent male having a baby on his own!

The empty picture frame in the hall makes me laugh every time I see it. Quinn has a million pictures and I can just imagine every time she passes it she's like "Oh, I gotta put those in" but then immediately forgets when she leaves the hall.

Nah, this is one aspect of the sims that is very unlike real life. You can change the number of babies and their genders through out the pregnancy.
No. I have tested this by saving in 3rd trimester and giving birth, seeing what I had, not saving and giving birth again, and the outcome is often different. (I don't use mods) It is only set at woo-hoos-end if you "check" the pregnancy with a mod after they have done the hokey-pokey.
@@sunsinger7806at the very least it's the case if you use mc command center which most simmers have installed. You can check right away if they're pregnant and what the offspring is. I've tried changing it through gameplay (you can manually decide through mccc as cheats) and it never changes 🤷♂️
The massage lady should definitely get an invite to the babies' birthday party and become their honorary aunty and maybe Quinn's new besti.

By the way: I'm pretty sure everything around the house is breaking because one of the sims (I think either Koji or Rye) have the Clumsy trait, which makes them more likely to break objects... clearly it's as tuned as ever.
It also helps that there are so many Sims in the house and that's the most popular bathroom. The more an object is used the more frequently it breaks.
Good point! One of the children is also a goofball so more broken toilets ahead.
This game is so good at giving triplets to people who would prefer to avoid it, and never to the people trying to get them 😂

a suggestion for the babies nursery - turn the garage space into a room for one of the teenagers. it is a bit of a shame because i love the garage but might as well make it into something useful than a fake car room LOL.

I always build a garage but then I stick stuff in there like gym equipment, the workbench, flower arranging table, etc.

If you leave your sims' family on their own to go do stuff out in the world and come back... there's really only two scenario's that happen. Either all their needs are in the red and they will most certainly die if you don't help them take care of their needs or they all have perfect needs, fully rested, full everything at 3 A.M. on a weekday. Love this game and the chaos 😂
Every time I have triplets, I have my sims drink a moodlet potions before the woohoo to be extremely happy and it works all the time. lol
most creators would have gone straight to MC Command center, you play so fairly, I absolutely think you played 100% fairly. Love your content as always .

To be fair with so many sims in the house, plus the kid walking into bathrooms in use, this might be the one incidence where home shower woohoo should count as “in risky places” 😂

It’s so funny when the player wants triplets and tries everything to get them but the game is like “nope” but when I want my sims to have one child the game is like “here are those twins and triplets you wanted”
Whenever James makes voices for his sims it reminds me of all my male friends when I was a kid who would come over then immediately steal all my Barbies to play with because they didn't have any at home. It sounded more or less like this 🤣

James I suggest you get the Control Any Sim mod by TitanNano so you don't have to switch families to control your other sims. From my experience, it doesn't have any bugs or any way to glitch it out. It's extremely useful.
I agree, though I know from experience that you can't control Stay Over guests with it.
THIS MOD IS BROKEN AND CAUSES EXCEPTION ERRORS THAT CAN CORRUPT SAVES, IF IN USE, TAKE OUT OF YOUR MODS FOLDER!!!
this mod has been abandoned and even if it "works" with modern/post HSY patches, it will create errors that bog down game performance and can even corrupt saves; same with with AOM selectable pets.
@@fluovite Not true at all. I've had it in my game forever and even consider it a must have. If you have exceptions then it's a conflict with other mods that YOU have.
@@dreydubs4256 the mod has been reported broken since march 31st due to the infant update, it's believed it's due to broken code not compatible with new patches; since the mod hasn't been updated since nov. 2022, it's considered abandoned/unsupported and removal is recommended, but im glad its working for you tho! 🤷♀️
edit: i have to add the status hasn't been confirmed by the creator, who's been MIA on MTS where the mod is posted, but rather by trusted community testers who confirmed it's on the same level of wonky as seemingly "functional" mods such as selectable pets and npcc
Actually, with the homework, I remember I stopped making one of my sims doing it when they became an A student and their performance actually decreased after a while. I don't think happens fast enough to have any impact if you're playing with aging on, but I'm pretty sure it does happen.
To be fair, you did get triplets in the trial run, so it makes sense that you should have them.
Wow! Triplets on the first try without any cheats or do-overs, this is the quality content I come for!
James, regularly deleting the localthumbcache file in your sims 4 root folder is one of the best ways to decrease lag. You should be deleting it every time you add or remove an item from your mods folder, whether that's cc or a script mod.
I think it would be cool if Queen"s adventurous mood during pregnancy had impact on children's personalities. We could have three little daredevils :)

So- the baby thing IS very sad, but, I’m surprised no one has called out that not only has Reyansh died (Breanne’s husband) but his spirit is fading away ?! The pop-up right when they got to the hospital!

Such a good episode. Quinn getting a sentiment with her fertility masseur and Koji freaking out outside the door were highlights were me.
Gutted your test play produced triplets naturally while your recorded playthrough didn't, but I think you're justified in using MCCC to correct it!
i love that you had triplets on the test play through. you definitely put in the work for the triplets. i do kinda hope you let Rye have an age down potion to at least be at the beginning of adult hood for his kids. but im always happy with your choices, either way it’ll be great!
Quinn sleeping in the coffin reminded me of the phrase about mothers giving birth astride a grave. She is going through a midlife crisis after all.
A tip for selling the veggies et cetera from your household inv: instead of clicking the "+" 30 times, you can type in a number multiple times. E.g. you type in a 9 after the 1, it turns to 19 and after that it turns to the maximum amount of the item stacked (or 199 if you have that many items 😂)

Once I had a household with one baby, but wanted her to have a sister so they did the wohoo on only the "ley in line" trait and got triplets... it was probably the worst decision ever xD
My sim tried for babies with a random sim, and she got triplets 😅
As a triplet I find it hilarious that we are all actively excited for him to get triplets when my parents tried so hard to just have 1 more child and ended up with triplets unnaturally 😂
NAME SUGGESTIONS; Herbie (because of the Herbalism skill), Sage (because of the ingredients necessary for the triplets), Berry (because of all the berries in Granite Falls), Mark (as in marking up the price of the paintings)...
None of the actions for increasing fertility boost the odds of twins or triplets directly. They ONLY decrease the odds of singletons. This means the odds of twins vs triplets never change. You can eventually get the odds of a single baby down to 0 which means you will always have twins OR triplets. The best odds for triplets are in this case 1 in 11. This comes from a post of someone that examined the game code directly. I didn't verify it, but it fits what I've observed in the game.
Was this recent? Sims team changed the chances of getting twins and triplets when infants were released it might be more common now

If you turn on the gnomes lot trait, some of those toilets and things will get repaired overnight.
Maybe to help ease the shock of the bills get the frugal rewards trait. It will take money off for each sim that has that trait in the household. In theory, 7 sims could be like 87% off. But even if it were just the adults it could take like 58% off essentially. 🤔😊 I feel like you know that cause I think you did that in the cottage let’s play.
Even if they don't need to do homework, doesn't that increase responsibility? So you do need them to do it for Quinn's aspiration

I hate that they limit the amount of work days with promotions. It makes no sense! I usually have my higher level sims do some freelance type stuff in their off time because I think that seems logical. You become a great writer for a publisher then I think it would make sense that you start writing books independently from your home office.
I will never forget when The Sims 4 first came out, I was playing and had an affair with a sim… she ended up having quadruplets.. and it’s never happened since 😂

What makes this funny for me is that when I was first starting to play through the Growing Together expansion, I was very excited for my little sim family of three (mom, dad, toddler) to be welcoming ONE new baby... but of course the game gave me triplets. Then seeing how hard some work towards having triplets in game and just never get it. Gotta love the randomness of the sims...

I was doing a playthrough where I just wanted to have a rich couple with no kids, only pets. but somehow ended up with twins and then triplets... I use mccc command center so there is a small chance that woohoo will get you pregnant anyway. I even use the birth control from that mod but somehow still had twins and then triplets. no traits or anything.
I was giggling at what I thought was your sound effect for a moment, when I realized it was a big truck with a whistly engine making it sound like the bombs-away from the stork dropping infants lol Perfect timing, whistly truck driver!
So about the lag thing, you are right, I dont know why it does that and sometime saving or hitting the menu button does not work, same as for clearing the notifications, but I noticed something lately in my game. It usually happen when I play on large family and I noticed that when it happen and I am focuse on one sim, I will then look at each one of them individualy and let the backlogged relationship/influence/character values points etc... all those little green plus or icons appearing on top of your sims head will get stuck I think... and if I look individually to each sim, and let the game display one after the others those littles notifications above their head, when the last sim whos had those backlogged notification has fully finish displaying them, the game come back to a normal frame rate... so I believe its due to all the background points system, that are stuck when your camera isnot focusing on said sims and making the game lag AF. Look thats just my observations lol, and it indeed is always come back to normal after those notifications above their head are over...
