PRX lost to C9 first game.
The tournament set up is 1 BO3(Best Of 3). Meaning that the first team to win 2 maps wins and advances to next round, while the other team goes home. They don't get a second chance, like previous tournaments.
c9 coach was being a bitch about it, he said "im glad we sent home those fucks" after beating PRX

Honestly NA really underestimated DRX for this match. Especially after the stomp on Pearl. It’s like people forgot that same team placed 3rd at Istanbul and played a really close game against Optic in the final match. The amount of times DRX has pulled games/matches back shouldn’t be discounted.
And it’s funny how biased the casters are, they literally said “this is one of the worst international games that I watched” when DRX got stomp on pearl. But when c9 is losing they be like “it’s because sage is better on attacking” LOL
I don't think they underestimated DRX, DRX were just cooking too much. The heat they came with was too much to counter in 40 minutes.
And right they came back against Furia like 1-12? Their mental is insane

DRX took that first map personally. The BM from vanity in an attempt to get into stax head didn't work one bit, and the wave at the end solidified it. 😂Props to DRX, we can see they've already ironed out a lot of the mistakes they were making last year. Watching vanity lose in that fashion was a blessing.

DRX lost map 1 and decided "aight, let's win everything else" and just w-keyed like there's no tommorow
people forget DRX were top 3 in champions and barely fell short of making it to the finals, they are all superstar level players that made it farther than any player on the c9 roster except for yay.
Also people hype up C9 as its the best NA team, they acquired 2 good people; the core itself is still meh.

I also think that despite the hype around C9, its the least complete among the NA teams. I think all three of the other NA franchised teams - NRG, 100T, and EG - look more consistent and innovative.
C9 has some very high peaks and very low lows, they're kind of a roller coaster to watch.

I would normally agree that they indeed might just get it but they're fighting against DRX, and discounting how many times this team turns the tables against other teams is really dangerous.
Same happened with EG. They won the first few rounds and then people started saying that EG had it only for Talon to 2-0 EG.

@@manfromthefuture4436 I think it just plays style with the new meta and everything it is going to take a while for c9 to fully become constant. While DRX is jumping on the new meta such as harbor on ice box and another smoker such as viper, making attacking and defending is difficult for C9 agents. On top of that, I think the C9 ice box setup is kinda more for rank, and putting yay on jet rather than leaf is kinda weird.

Also, GE owner has already said that every team in Pacific league will get their support. Even Talon eSports was supporting DRX if you look at their Twitter. Pacific league is lot more wholesome than Americas league.
