    I just asked you about the carbon fiber barrel and this rig is absolutely outstanding. You know better than anyone that you can't go wrong with .223 in price and availability.

    That's a sharp looking rig. I agree a .223 is cheaper to use after I recently went out and spent $42 per box of 20 for my .243. When I got home I checked the price tag on the last 55gr .243 Winchester Supreme Ballistictip I bought a few years ago and it was $17.99 for 20 rounds.

    I shoot 6.5 PRC and CM... a little .308 and will be getting in to 6CM and maybe 6ARC... but i still think my favorite round to shoot is 5.56 77 grain OTM's out of an 18" match barrel. Can nail the milk jug at 1,000 pretty easily and the recoil is obviously very nice.

    I have a 220 Swift that has similar performance. The 40 gr load is truckin' along at over 4000 ft/sec and she's the loudest friggin bark ever. It's so much different than say, a .308. It so sharp and so in your ears. But for a varmint rifle she has no = on this earth. I would like to try your rig to see how much they are different/similar. Nice review

    I switched from an ACC to an ESS for one reason ; the mirage shield on the ESS looks like it's part of the chassis whereas the one for the ACC looks like an add-on.
    ESS is a bit shorter but I cut my new barrels down to 22" so it doesn't matter.
    Love those rubber dampeners and as far as those new springs on those thumb screws I installed thin lock washers and they appear to do the job well.
    ps: I bought sheets of glue-on rubber foam sheets on Amazon and cut out a formed piece to place over my cheek piece and it fits very nice and feels great.

    They sell weight that can be added to better balance the rifle if your interested. Overall weight will jump, but will be better balanced with added weight!!

    I'm waiting on a barrel for my own 223 bolt gun. Mine will have a heavy palma contour 7.7 twist and 26 inches. This one's for target work. My 223 hunting rig only has a 20 inch barrel and a much lighter contour.

    Nice looking rig, I have a older MTD chassis on a custom built 223 with a Remington 700 action that was gone threw by Short Actions Customs. Unfortunately the optic ($19-K) just gave me sticker shock.😂😂😂
    I'll have to stick with my Pulsar at this point.
    But i agree with you, There will always be a place in my heart for one of these custom built 223 bolt rifles, on a solid aftermarket classis rig.

    Carbon six uses McGowan blanks. The barrel I'm waiting on for my .223 is a McGowan barrel.

    I'm over 223. Have been since the 6.5 Grendel's 10+ years ago. I'm now using the 6 arc. I will say I own one in 223/556 because of the ammo I have on hand.

      Hunting with the abnormal rounds is awesome, but using the "militia" clause in the 2A is hard to do with a handful of rare rounds... I want 6mm Arc as cheap and prolific as 5.56.

      @investigativeoutcomes9343 which is why replacing barrels and / or uppers is extremely important for any long-term use. If these rounds are for a semiautomatic, it's not a great idea. 6mm arc is great for bolt action rifles (with replacing barrels) a need for these module features.

      @@skydivingcomrade1648 we all would. The military asked for the 6 arc. It will get more attention and use as time goes on. It's just Government BS that has Sig Sauer making guns in a calibur that is costly and hard to make. When it dies the 6 arc will rise and become more mainstream as a military round.

      I have in the past with Hornady black 75gr, works great but nothing beats a solid copper projectile.

    I appreciate 223 rifles...but I think better rounds for hunting with bolts are 308 and up. 223 for Coyotes and small, medium game is ok.

    I just spent 1.5K on the ACC Premier for a Tikka T3X Super Varmint in 6.5 PRC. This makes me wish i didn't. Plus.. the damn thing doesn't shoot very well, even in the chassis. You can't put lipstick on a pig came to life for me. Makes me want to abandon Tikka. Love my T3X Tac A1... but that damn super varmint is a massive let down.

      I bet a lot of your accuracy issues started with the ammunition. Not many options and the good stuff is not cheap! I’ve always wanted to build off the action, sorry you had hell with it.

      @@TxKiller I got about 1 MOA with Norma 143 grain Golden Target Match. The Hornady 147 ELD's were a different story. it was about 1.5" or worse. The Hornady hunting ammo i tried was the fasted and worse still. It appears that the Tikka (who's barrels are known for being slower than average) prefers the slower Norma ammo... kind defeating the purpose of having 6.5 PRC to begin with.
