    To be honest, even if it was considered a victory that it was destroyed to America, my country, I wished it had survived and became a museum. The history of one of the most famous and greatest warships ever built would have been fascinating to learn about while visiting it. Sadly, we'll never be able to see it in its true glory ever again.

      @konnerkramer329 If I remember correctly, that's because the crew wasn't very good. The Yamato was absolutely one of the greatest ships, but her crew? Not so much. That's because she was used more as a symbol of Japanese naval power rather than what she was actually designed to do. She barely saw real combat, and it resulted in a crew that was inexperienced, lackluster, and subpar. If her crew was really good, she might still be afloat today. At least, that's what I've read.

    Awesome bit of work. Just an add on since you can see it in the finished product. All big gun ships flip upside down when they sink. The turrets and barbette armor weigh them down inverting them unless the turrets fall free from the mounts as happened with Bismarck’s wreck. Thanks for reading my mildly morbid naval fact

    • @MSL_Sketches

    • @Constance_tinople
      @Constance_tinople 2 месяца назад +2

      Less fact more probability. Most battleships will invert when they sink due to unevenness of flooding, the free surface effect, as well as a litany of other causes including the moment of rotation becoming too much for the remaining buoyancy to counteract pulling the ship fully over. However the turrets in and of themselves are not causing such a drastic inversion as much as uneven flooding is combined with passing the point where the ship can naturally balance itself
