This resembles "In Held Twas In I" another lengthy spoken recitative on their second album 'Shine on Brightly' released 9 years earlier. 'Something Magic' turned out to be the last Procol Harum album for the next 14 years. They disbanded after this LP stalled at #187 on Billboard, and didn't record again until 'The Prodigal Stranger'' in 1991.
Something Magic was a great album that introduced a bit changed "rock" version of Procol Harum. Josh Philips introduced synthesizers and he was their master. As for Hammond organ , he changed it a bit. It was not in Fisher convention, just different. Title song was a real hit utill the end of the band and the public loved it. Musically this album was one of the best and recoding was perfect. Well ,which one was not? I will love their music forever.
The infamous “Worm & The Tree” A better piece than credited and so was Gary as narrator. It’s another Procol with orchestra project with which the band blends well as they always did in that area. Nice work. Chris 🎼
How fantastic it is! Can I share this by reposting your channel on a nice platform named Gan Jing World? For sure that I will not change anything. If you are fine with that, please let me know. Thank you
As much as it may resemble Fisher's style it was composed by Brooker. I wish Fisher would play the organ .Josh Phllips style is different.I love his synthesizers, but Fisher was a master od "procolish" Hammond sound.
Some of the best lyrics by one of the best lyricists of all time - RIP Keith Reid
Listening to this as a child for a bed time story my sister loved it
Procol Harum, Outstanding Band! Gary Brooker R.I.P

5:08 Typical Matthew Fisher song...
(copied later by Rick van der Linden in Ekseption)
Not too much, althogh Fisher played many progressions in Procol tunes, but his one is typical Brooker.

This doesn't really work.
