I just found Stacey on TPT and OH MY GOSH she has made my dream lessons!!! I purchased a small pack for a short story, and only now am I seeing TONS of beautiful resources. I am loving it and I am glad you made a video too!!! :)
Thanks for the heads up on those graphic novels. I found them at my library. Also I love The Book Umbrella. We have The One and Only Ivan and One Crazy Summer Novel Units.
Thank you for showing these!! My oldest is in 8th grade. I have been looking for more high school resources and ideas! Though, my bank account may not be so thankful😅
Glad it was helpful! Michelle, you've just given me a video idea. I think your daughter is starting high school this year? I'm going to do a video on high school lit guides and books.
@@HomeschoolKnockouts she is in 9th grade this year and that would really helpful. I have a hard time picking books for her to read. She struggles academically so I don't want to pick something that will be overwhelming.
You can also have her listen to the audiobook while she follows along in the book. Almost all the classics can be found on RUclips for free. Just match the book/version that’s being read so there’s not too much difference. Also, If she’s really into the story but not the reading, just do audiobooks. www.commonsensemedia.org is a good place to find books that may interest your child (no matter the age)
Wait!! Somehow, this was showing in my feed today, so, I thought it was new! On her IG, she isn’t active, so, I was wondering if she has still been working on these. Have you done any reviews or updates on these since this video? I sooo want to try them!!! and of course, i wish TPT was having a sale right now :O :O lol! especially because i am wanting to know how these work for homeschooling one kid!!
Did my video or her IG show up in your YT feed? I read your comment and went straight to her IG and no updates :( lol she says that when she’s quiet for a while she’s working on something. Fingers crossed.
Hi, I just purchased one of the literature guides because of your recommendation. Do you have other recommendations for literature guides? We want to read Anne Frank but have not found a literature guide we like yet.
How did I miss this comment?! For the graphics I consider then an "abridged" version of the classics. My intent is to have a visual story to read after they've read the original. Kinda like reading a book and then watching the movie version. Not sure if you meant your daughter does better with the graphic novels or the classics, but no matter how she rolls, the graphic novels can be a lighter read after reading a classic, or a prelude to a classic she's about to read. OR, read the graphic novel in middle school for exposure and then do a deeper dive in high school with the classic version. OR, (lol) Just read the graphics for fun and exposure and never touch the originals. Not everyone wants to read the longer and sometimes more difficult classics. HTH!
These look perfect for my middle school daughter that struggles with adhd! Thanks for the review!
So happy to hear that, Stephanie! Good luck!
Thanks so much! I am working on planning my 10th grader’s next literature choices. This was very helpful. Love supporting the teachers on TPT!
Karennnnn, I got a video you’re going to LOVE on high school lit choices. Stay tuned!

I buy the bundle. They are that good!
Thanks for this! What is the worldview on these? Is it Christian or secular?
All of Stacey Lloyd's lit. guides are secular. HTH!
