entirely agree with y splitter comment. The manual states that the power cable is 10 ft longer its barely 4 and gives you virtually no option but to trail the cable across the screen
Maybe the short cord and bulky connectors are easier with other makes of cars. I'm in Australia and installed my cams (front & rear) in a Holden Colorado. The connectors tucked up nicely under the front window shade and stayed in place when the shade is flipped down. What would have been nice to see in your video was a bit of instruction regarding the menu and how to change settings. This is my first cam, so I'm not familiar with what experienced users may consider 'standard' settings and features. Oddly enough, my packaging did not contain any written instructions, aside from drawing of the wiring diagram.
i bought the 895d cobra which came with front and rear cams, they both broke within 4 months, it could of been the weather which was 30c+ for a few weeks here in england. one day i went to my car and the front cam had somehow ended up in the back seat lol.
I want to get this Cobra dual dash cam for my trailblazer. I want to stick the rear camera on the rear hatch glass so i can keep a eye on all these wonderful tailgaters here in Atlanta. I mean, i still have full coverage on a 2005 vehicle because these beautiful people are such professional drivers right? But i digress and ask will the cord with that adapter be long enough? Thanks for the video 👍
Hi! For the short cord issue, depending the amperage of the line itself, technically you can just get a 15-25ft "extension" cord, that connects to what is on the side of the dashcam, which is usually a usb 2.0 "type B" connector, so you can plug into a laptop desktop etc. This will then allow you to functionally extend it in theory. If in alberta, Memory express would have these, otherwise I recommend on "newegg.ca" or .com depending your location, etc. These idea's may assist you more thoroughly for the future interest of this dashcam review. Yes it means a 3rd party extension, but it will provide a more successful, easy to replace with minimal damage to the original cabling should it need to be remounted often for any travel restriction reasoning.
Definitely. There's always a hack for these things, but consumers like me get frustrated when I have to buy added accessories to do something that should be ideal right from out of the box.
Erin Lawrence You're entirely right on that. Oem, straight from the product, should be an easy go to solution of simplicity. And not every vehicle can you hide it due to limited design approaches. Some brands may have the room oddly to sneak and hide, some don't. I have the F800 think ware dual ch. Worth it, but myself and friends took some work to hide that also. Massive long cables, but still cables. Just a bummer to see this model go this way.
I no longer have this camera, but if I remember correctly, the app only lets you look at a live feed. To download the footage you need to remove the card from the camera, and download it onto a computer
My girlfriend just recently recorded two cars that hit her as the cobra dash cam recorded the incident on 12-1-2017 and a police officer gone into her car and deleted the evidence. What can be done about this?
Do you know how to connect CDR855BT in their drive hd app? They said you can view the video in your phone through the app without removing the sdcard in the dashcam.
Do you know if I get a micro usb to lightning cable and connect the dash cam directly to my phone if I would be able to view it then? Has anyone tried this?
Thank you for your review really helped me like you I really don’t like the splitter also. I used the twist tie they provide to to keep it a tighter fit.
I like your video as I was looking at this one, but I think I will keep looking. I will have to watch some of your videos to find what I like the best for my F150

Excellent review, very detailed and balanced . Extra marks for a manual car!

It’s allergic to crashing, I just crashed, the footage is “corrupted” It DID record the traffic jam.
😒😒☹️
What a beautiful woman!
These cameras are trash. Just look at this companies RUclips videos that have comments turned off. They got tired of the negativity. Lol
Which one do you have experience with?
