Kanazawa was definitely my favourite city on my first trip to Japan last year. So much variety of experiences and Omichou food market was a total knockout! I kept going back there 😂
Thanks to this video , I have made Kanazawa a destination in end of April trip with my daughter to Japan. I booked the JR pass and accommodations and now I know of some great places to visit. Keep up the great work with your videos.
Kanazawa is a place I heard very little about. As such it wasn't really on my radar. The parks, gardens, and the historical buildings and streets have convinced me that I have to spent three or four days in this city. Your video has showed me that this a magical location, that should not be missed. Probably not going try the fish, but will definitely trying Morihachi set at there shop. Can't wait for you to show me more. This city looks amazing.
Fantastic guide to Kanazawa! Thank you Ninja Monkey. I’m adding this to my list when I return to Japan next year. That Morihachi sweet shoppe looks amazing!! ❤
Love Kanazawa the train station entrance is beautiful .Wooden statue in front pretty .Loved the castle went twice and gardens stunning .Loved having gold leaf ice cream
Hey Ninja Monkey Guy, I just added a few days in Kanazawa to a trip in March 2024. Where is the 'unique dashi restaurant' you ate at? Have you released a video on that yet? Thanks a lot🙂👍
Hi Nathan. I'm going to Japan at the end of April 2024 and would like to include Kanazawa, but I heard that several attractions are closed now due to the earthquake. Would you recommend it or it's better to avoid it? Thank you very much.
I contacted Kanazawa city and they told me that as far as Kanazawa city is concerned, there is almost no damage. You can go around Higashiyama Chaya-gai, Nagamachi Samurai District, Kenrokuen Garden, etc. without any problems. Please visit Kanazawa and support Noto Peninsula! Always follow your countries travel advice and recommendations
ummm,.... Kanazawa Castle has been burned down multiple times, so almost everything here is a reconstruction of the 1850's version. Not in this video but I'm guessing you went to Myōryū-ji ... I hate ninja and samurai and almost anything from Warring States period ... but this temple was founded by one of my heroes Maeda Toshiie ... we are Soto Zen Buddhist and this place is Nichiren but it's all ok ! (^_^)
@@NinjaMonkeyguy hahaha! .... I'm not very familiar with this region,... it's just things you pick up watching NHK historical dramas (^_^) .... hmmm,... kenrokuen .... it reminds me of Rokkaku-Do in Kyoto ... there is a stone there with a six sided hole in it which indicates the geographic center of the city ....
always playing with the title.. what's clickbait to one person is not to another.. Kanazawa is less know so just trying to get people to discover it and visit!

I think the Gardens are so amazing too.. I kept on 'detouring" just to walk through them!
This was a really excellent video, Nathan! Very classy. The editing was on point, too.
Yay, thank you!
Lots of good information, I see I’ll have to go back there a third time! The gardens look a lot more lush than when I was there a few years back.
the great thing about those gardens is that they look different in the different seasons!
It looks amazing! I love old Japan ⛩️
All of japan is old hehe

Nice Primer for Kanazawa! I didn't notice the Famous Train Station Gate? that's associated with Kanazawa?
its where you start!
Yea all good points, its very far to make it a day trip though especially with young kids. Hard to compete with disneyland for them 😂
Yes it’s far! More the reason to stay over night

While I couldn’t visit Kanazawa in august thanks to a typhoon 😢
I can better prepare for it next year❤
You can do it!
I could swear this video had a good title last week and now it's some clickbait bs
always playing with the title.. what's clickbait to one person is not to another.. Kanazawa is less know so just trying to get people to discover it and visit!
@@NinjaMonkeyguy Your video is amazing though, but that title got to me 😅
@@TheXxdarkhackxX always working to find the balance of “getting people to click and authenticity” sometimes it’s impossible lol
Kanazawa looks fantastic. Will definitely have to consider it on my next itinerary to Japan.
You should! 100% dont miss it
Great video Nathan!
Thanks! next one from Kanazawa in a few weeks time :)
