Good to see how the quadrupling work is coming along between Olten and Aarau. All four tracks seem to be in use between Olten and Däniken , and they seem to be making good progress with the remainder of it.
That's some close headways. There's three trains we pass, an Re 460 on single deck stock at 11:59, and then two top & tailing double deck stock at 12:45, and then another pushing double deck stock at 13:39. That's literally like four minutes between them all in the same direction!

Great train cab ride, and incredible video quality. Big thanks from New York. (Tolle Zug-Taxifahrt und unglaubliche Videoqualität. Vielen Dank aus New York.)
What always amazed me is the quality of trackwork in Switzerland. Not only are the mainlines as smooth as glass the yards, and industry sidings are perfect as well. The double-decker trains are my favorite. Everything is spotless! You don't see paper or trash anywhere! And the scenery is beautiful. I love the Zurich Hauptbahnhof. The restaurant on the main level next to the ticket office is my favorite. Seems like I remember this train arriving on the main level. Changed in the last few years? Have you made any videos going through Baden? I really appreciate the info about where diverging lines are headed. I thought the view out the windows was good, but you have the best seat in the house! Thanks for bringing back so many memories of my rail adventures. I have ridden on a lot of the lines from your videos and I can't wait to get back over and experience it all over again. Thanks and be safe!
There are a few cab rides through Baden available here, some of them cargo and one with the S6 from Baden to Uetikon. Since the DML was opened, the IC1 and IC8 (any many others) go through there instead of the main hall.

As always another wonderful exciting video from my favorite train driver in Switzerland. I thank you for sharing these trips with us during this virus time. I myself just recently got out of hospital for my legs again. So this gives me something to do and pass the time. The virus is bad here in the USA Kansas City, Kansas again. Mandatory wearing of masks. It doesn't seem to want to leave here. I pray you and your family are well. That the Lord will bless and keep us all and heal all who are sick. Thanks for cleaning the windows after them bug splats :) . Looking forward to your next video. As I always do I rewatch everyone of them dozens of times. God bless. Be safe.
hi @ slycat1939 Take care of yourself ... here in Switzerland the virus still rode but not much admission to hospitals ... seen from here, you are completely irresponsible..I am not talking about you, of course, but your government is completely off the mark ... so put on a mask all ... this is the best protection ... long life to you ..
you get a completely different view when you 4.5x the speed. That means 200km/hr is actually 900km/hr on the screen. I must speed up the Linthal to Ziegelbruecke line in winter.
Hallo . Schöne Schnelltour . Und ich glaube Premiere . Denn ich kann mich nicht erinnern , dass du schon mal in BERN warst oder durch oder Endbahnhof . 👍👏🚄🚂
Very nice video; I like the fact that this train (die Durchmesserlinie, english translation roughly, "The through knife line" or "cut through line") didn't stop in Olten or Aarau, (like I was used to it when I lived there), I have been watching a lot of slow Metra (Chicago) train videos, just comparing the trains there to Europe, (they don't compare, although there is a lot of potential for improvement in Chicagoland, as the laid track and right-away is there, just needing money to fund some strategic improvement projects). Seeing the Bern nach Zuerich ICE and also having seen recently an Amsterdam to The Hague passenger train video though are breaths of fresh air in wanting to see and feel a ride on a top flight train and train system.
At 19:23 we cross over a line below us on a flyover between tunnels. So that's the flyover we've been under in other videos then, just south of Murgenthal?
Hi, how is final result on this part? 27:36 - 27:46 Tunnel is open now, and I dont see nowhere, that they rebuilded for 4 tracks(for example open street map). Are you know?
Gerade den NBS- Abschnitt anzusehen hat etwas auch Meditatives. Gut, dass die Strecke weitgehend der A1 folgt. Auch Genf und Lausanne sind mit der NBS besser an ZH angebunden.
Can you explain this please? 27:36 - 27:46 hope it´s not final version(because the same you can find on OpenStreetMap, which is really fresh updated many times). Switch from 4 rails to 3 rails, and again to 4 rails, without overthrust....it will be very conflict and dangerous point on this very busy line. And on this curve is very close the rails also frequent road.
They're working on quadruple tracking the entire line between Olten and Aarau, I believe the rightmost track is not yet in use which makes the entire section between Dulliken and Däniken "only" triple tracked. Once the track gets a connection I'm sure the entire switch layout in Dulliken will change and make more sense.
Lovely video, it was great to see high speed without halts for a change. Soon after departure, at Bern Wankdorf, you almost caught up with that BLS train, I enjoyed that. Is there a different speed limit for the different tracks? The BLS train quickly accelerated and seemed to go faster than you, so I was wondering. Then later on between 11:50 and 13:40 you pass 3 other trains in a span of less than 2 minutes, really incredible at such high speed! I also noticed while passing Olten, there was an ICN at the platform and few seconds later you crossed another ICN in the opposite direction (towards Biel/Bienne I am guessing). The same sequence could be seen in your ICN driving video. Where on the approach to Olten you crossed the IC (in which you were this time) and then at Olten the other ICN was waiting at the platform. It was nice to see the same thing from two different cabs. Thank you for sharing! :) One last thing, I am assuming you were driving an IC1, and not IC8, or am I mistaken?
@@RailwayEmotions Thank you, I thought as much, that your train is longer and heavier, and on top of that the BLS was an EMU, but I assumed you were already at the speed limit. Anyway, thank you so much once again. I keep waiting for more videos from you!
