- Outside of San Juan, just a few minutes from the Airport, is beautiful Isla Verde district of Carolina, Puerto Rico. Close enough to Old San Juan for the tourists, convenient for business in San Juan city center, and perched on the northern coast beach.
We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott for a little relaxing at the beach. Here is a quick tour of the property and some gorgeous golden sand beach views.

Is this place “pool hopper” friendly?
Can you enjoy a coffee in the back, outside if you're not staying there? Or hit the casino or bar?
Yes, the coffee bar (and cocktail bar) is open to non-guests as well. Anyone 18+ can enjoy the casino.
Jen, I think that the beaches on the southwest and West of the Island are better than the ones in the Metro Area. What are your thoughts?
The "best" beaches depend on what activities you are going for (scuba, swimming, snorkeling, floatie) and the time of year. Overall, Playa Buye in Cabo Rojo is one of my favorite beaches for swimming & floatie time all year.
