About Dune: Part Two:
The saga continues as award-winning filmmaker Denis Villeneuve embarks on “Dune: Part Two,” the next chapter of Frank Herbert’s celebrated novel Dune, with an expanded all-star international ensemble cast. The film, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2021’s six-time Academy Award-winning “Dune.” “Dune: Part Two” will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.

My man Paul was walking with an absolutely menacing aura during this scene. This is that "f*ck with me and fall" type of music. Bro really made a black air force entrance.
Black Air Force entrance has me rolling 😂😂😂🍃
What is “black Air Force?”
@@_Cato_ It's a term that was popularized by the RUclipsr CJDaChamp. It's used for describing characters who are disrespectful menaces to society, the baddest of the bad, and those that usually end up leaving a large impression on the audience. You know, villains like Broly, Omni-Man, Battle Beast, Madera, etc. He actually has a series dedicated to these types of characters on his channel, and his videos are hilarious imo.

Somehow Paul just showing up to the south was the most epic and chill inducing scene in the film.
I READ THAT IN DRAX'S/RABAN VOICE
I love how they portrayed the southern desert in part 2. It's flatter, the sand is rougher and made of darker stones giving the sand an almost black appearance. It feels like a desolate, remote and forbidden area.
"Only those with strong faith can survive there"
@@Despotic_Waffle I love how the director wove themes from the book into the film visually like this.
@@Despotic_Wafflebut isn’t the survival rate the same as rest or arrakis?
@@G_Singh222 Nope it's not. The southern hemisphere of Arrakis is a stormy barren wasteland. Unlike the north, there are no cities in that region either. Think of it this way. If the northern hemisphere of Arrakis is Sahara desert, the southern hemisphere is Mars.
@@maazahmed506 Basically the dark side of the moon but for arrakis
It's the upright bass that makes it. Being played so deep and aggressively you can hear the strings rattle on the fingerboard, it feels so... primal.
Exactly what I was thinking, felt that bass in my bones
You absolutely described it perfectly,, the intense deep low string sound where it sounds kindof choppy just gives me goosebumps. Probably my favorite track from this movie.
Its the octobass?
This is how Godzilla’s roar was created, incidentally enough.
@@danielplainview2584 Well, that paired with a leather glove rubbing the strings and played backwards, but yeah. Still the same kind of instrument.
Unless I'm misremembering, this song plays soon after the reveal of Paul and Jessica's lineage, and Paul says that they will have to be Harkonnens to succeed. This song uses the gutteral undertone of the Harkonnens themes, but also the riff that is present in 'Pauls Dream' and other Atreides related songs. It signifies an amalgamation of the two, that Paul is still there, just more brutal
Bingo
The exact description of what they did for the piece
The scene of him walking with this song blasting on IMAX.
Peak. Cinema.
ABSOLUTY CINEMA - Scorsese.
In dolby the music shook my seat 😂😂😂😂
that was one of the most incredible sequences i had ever experienced watching a film
This song is so pivotal to telling the audience, “Paul is no longer the hero in this story.”
He fought against destiny, only to realize the path that was laid out for him is the least harrowing of them all, regardless of the pain and suffering he will cause.
This song, and the scene it accompanies, shows not only Paul’s arrival to the southern clans, but also the arrival of his dark omnipresence that is fueled by religious machinations from a hidden cabal.
This is the theme of the birth of a horrific villain, and a signal that this story is a tragedy.
Terrible purpose, as it is called in the book
The universe is lucky that Paul still had a sense of honor preventing his war from going all out, though in the process the universe simply found another to finish the job that he couldn't follow through on.
Paul is not a hero nor villain. Dune isn’t above titles such as those but that’s not the story it’s trying to tell. Leto the 2nd was by all regards a wicked tyrant but he sacrificed everything to see humanity prevail and he committed said fated atrocities in the nicest way possible. All be it killing a harrowing amount of innocent people and holding the universe in an iron grip for melenia but it was that or extinction. The same logic can be applied towards Paul. Any being who has prescience lives in the future, making the present nothing but a begrudging stepping stone. So they justify the means by the end.
No, Paul is not a hero
U can’t apply the same logic to Paul. He was an antihero
This scene was amazing... At this moment, I truly felt there was no turning back for Paul
Man this scene was pure metal! Such amazing cinematography
That was EXACTLY what I was thinking when I saw it. SO METAL!
It's the deep toned cello, so powerful.@@thenot-so-smartfox4145
absolutely, reminded me of some Neptunian Maximalism which is a wild thing to say about a big popular blockbuster movie
yeah the arena scene in movie- with a man chanting sounded like death metal mixed with mozart
Had to find this track after seeing the film. Figured I'd be able to pick it out by name alone. Chose Arrival first. I chose wisely. What a film.
You saw all possible futures, and chose the narrow path to paradise
Just as after oppenheimer i had to listen to the “Trinity” right after DUNE 2 i had to listen to this track. I am a sucker for powerful movie composition.
I just opened up the Spotify album and looked at the names of the tracks because they are often positioned chronologically to the events of the film.
That’s exactly what i did
As written.
It's crazy how this soundtrack almost sounds Harkonnen, even though its supposed to be for Paul
Well yeah this music literally plays in the scene right after (spoiler)

Paul finds out that he and his mother are Harkonnen
@@DG-gx4sg Yeah, and that's very fitting thematically. Also not only "embracing" his inner Harkonnen, but also embracing the "dark path" he needs to take.
I mean, Paul's theme being part harkonnen is pretty fitting. If you know you know.
Maybe it shows that Paul has become more cruel than harkonnen
Well it's very fitting considering his words right before this track is played:
"We're Harkonnens. So this is how we'll survive. By being Harkonnens.
One of the best scenes in cinematic history, a skinny kid looking guy makes u feel fear like never before
Errrr no, felt no fear at all 😅
Paul appearing in front of Shai Hulud until the end of his speech in the temple is the longest I have forgotten to breathe. Literally forgot I have to.
I think the coolest thing about this track is this is the motiff often used for Feyed and the harkonnens and the fact its playing during Paul's arrival symbolises he is a Harkonnen and is embracing the Harkonnen way
Denis and Hans cooked this scene so hard
And Greig.
As did Timothée

It was at this moment when i saw paul walking i knew the young boy was gone. He was no longer unsure and indecisive, he was walking with a purpose
A terrible purpose, even.
Muad’Dib Usul is all that remains.
@@disastergoblin65 He saw it.... He saw the War is certain even he denied this path the War is still there... So He chose to control it for purpose.
That scene from Paul's arrival to his speech is one of the best army rally scenes. Very close to ride of the Rohhirim.
The arrival of the Kwisatz Haderach. Chills
Everyone reading needs to try listening to this as you walk into the gym for your workout. It's the best hype music ever.
Usually slowmo walking scenes are cringe, but when you have Denis Villeneuve directing it and Hans Zimmer doing the score, then you have a masterpiece in the making
Snyder needs to take lessons
I don’t think people really understand how perfect this music and this scene is. Paul transforming in this story is literally the most insane, greatest and most dangerous thing to happen in human history, ever.
Hans Zimmer leveled up with this one.
Once again ... Him and Ludwig Goransson are the best actually
Hans Zimmer is max level. This gave him a prestige level.
I swear this is a villian theme 😅 which fits well for the book readers. It perfectly captures the terror to come.
In fairness, who wouldn't be thinking this as you just witnessed Space Jesus come off a giant worm that's longer than the Burj Khalifa is in height.
I love how in this background poster you see Paul as he really is, just another one of the people in this story striving for power. All of them with their own goals, intentions, backstories. Some gooder than others, but none of them perfect. And the ones who seem to have the better intentions sometimes end up causing more damage.
*A message to the future generations:*
_Don't let this song die._
I love the Leaving Caladan motif in this song
One of my favourite scenes in the whole film. Hearing this tune roaring as Paul arrived south and the giant sandworm crashed behind him was INSANE. From the cautious fremen to lady Jessica and her followers waiting for Paul. PEAK CINEMA FR!!! What an experience.
Seen the movie three times in four days. Its a masterpiece!
This track mix Atreides and Harkonnen themes, and it's played just after Paul embrace both of his sides in order to survive.
Masterpiece.
The music that plays as the best employee walks to the manager's office to tell them they quit
There is NO ONE in this room who can stand before ME
SILENCE
Hans did such an amazing job on the music for these films, it's amazing. The way he corrupts Paul's theme in this piece, it's powerful and frightening, which is exactly the feeling you are supposed to feel at this point in the movie for Paul
Destiny arrives all the same. This was the transformation proper for Paul and there was no going back now. It's probably my favorite visual of the whole film.
In Imax theater, this song shook my soul they had the speakers up so loud. I loved it.
This scoring for the walking scene was mental🔥😭
Just give Hans the Oscar now. Nothing can beat this.

I'm not the biggest fan of "The Chosen One" stories, but for God's sake, this movie made it spectacular, and from This Scene, it makes it Perfect
This book kinda started the whole "Chosen One" stories in modern scifi, the difference is that Frank Herbert meant for it to be a CAUTIONARY tale about fantacism and putting too much belief into one human lol. Whereas Star Wars is like "He's Space Jesus! The most peaceful man in the universe (after he blew up the death star killing 350 million people)"
@@IloveGorgeousGeorge the Chosen One in Star Wars is ANAKIN, not Luke, dude. and Anakin/Darth Vader is most certainly NOT someone the story says is ''space jesus''; he's a failure right up until his death, when he finally dose something right. plus, you know, the Death Star was literary a weapon of incredible destruction that had already killed billions with Alderaan, but sure, let's cry about the poor, poor imperial personnel on board it instead.
He isn't really a chosen one though as he is the product of centuries old planning through genetic breeding, and there are also other Kwisatz Haderach besides him. And Paul will never take the Golden Path, something only his son will achieve, so he fails at the very purpose of being "chosen". And he only *appears* as a chosen one to the Fremen because of the myths of the Lisan al-Gaib that were purposefully planted there by the Bene Gesserit, making the point that religion is a form of control. And by the end of the first book and into Dune Messiah, Paul has essentially become a villain. These intracaties makes for an infinitely more interesting story than the oversimplified "chosen one" storylines from other franchises.
@@xen0biato be fair he's really a villain by the end of the first book and this movie. Messiah was just when he stopped being a sympathetic one the reader could believe was capable of redemption
That's because it's a deconstruction of the chosen one archetype. Frank Herbert meant it.be a horrific warning

This scene right here man, this scene...
Saw this film last night. This score & moment was a stand out moment. Absolutely astonishing visual and audio experience.

man the scene with the music.... masterpiece
So powerful right ?
This scene, this music 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Actually my favourite scene. The low tone cello (or whatever that instrument is) I am complete sucker for that.
This scene when Paul climbing the hill 🥶🔥🔥
The theatre was shaking
The aesthetic portion of the scene is BREATHTAKING along with this music
I was terrified during this scene, literally in tears.
All the elements of filmmaking (the soundtrack with the ominous beats, the cinematography of the sandworm in the background and the forbidding figure of Paul slicing through a throng of people, his face veiled in shadow, determined eyes) converged to show us the turning point where Paul loses his common humanity as a prescient Messiah, takes upon the mantle of Lisan Al-Gaib and commits to the jihad, whatever the cost.
love this soundtrack. hans zimmer and his team are the best, legendary.
Is this when he just walked through a crowd of people. Was pretty epic
Yupppp
Paul turns to the dark side. The Vader moment Star Wars fans were robbed of, but thankfully gets realized properly here in an equally venerated story.
Star wars fans weren't robbed of a Vader moment.
@@thewitcherking937 , so you're telling me that Anakin turning into Vader like a broken hearted Frankenstein in Revenge of the Sith is how Star Wars fans envisioned that would happen. It was an embarassing and a cringe way to birth the greatest villian in movie history.
Oh come on, Anakin's villain arc wasn't so bad. Except for the 'I have the high ground' moment😂
@@thewitcherking937 Yes, we were. Vader's turn to the Dark Side was executed terribly because the prequel films are all embarrassing in comparison to the original trilogy.
@@RenegadeShepTheSpacer no we weren't. It wasn't executed terribly. Yeah the prequel films aren't embarrassing. They stand toe to toe with the originals.
Theater shaking, basically in awe, and fully expected the movie to end here. This scene stuck out so much for me.
This isn't the music of a savior. This is the theme of a conqueror.
This is pure villain arc
Its like someone made a crossbreed of a dragon and lion roar to announce his entrance into the south warcamp
If I’m Hans Zimmer, this is the song I use to slow walk to the stage as I kick off my concerts for the next 3-5 years.

I've seen it twice in theaters. It hits every time...
I basically financed the movie by going to the cinema like 5 times for this scene and the scenes afterwards
Dear Looord, this theme goes SOOO hard, and the whole scene itself was just breathtaking! Truly one of the best cinema experience in my life!🔥🔥🔥
This was so dark, Paul essentially turned to the dark side, albeit not all his fault. People don't realize but DUNE and Paul story is essentially Anakin Skywalkers story in Starwars. Paul is Anakin falling into a darker self because of destiny/prophesy, guided by "faith", albeit coordinated. Chani is Padme, and yes, Chani - SPOILER.......
has twin children just like Padme....the rest, well, lets hope they keep going into the Children of Dune. We shall see.
Star wars ripped off dune and anyone who read the books knows it
The most epic scene I've ever seen in any film, truly amazing 💯🔥
Just watched this movie...this score was absolutely insane in the theatre.
this is so (and now i see Brolins face) BRUTAL !!!
There she is. The BEAST.
Perfect music to accompany deconstruction of the superhero
The electric guitars has to be a callback to the 1984 movie
I saw this scene and immediately thought of anakin skywalker going dark walking into the Jedi temple. Same aura, just way cooler this time
Fear the moment.
Pure chills just awesome - an unbelievable score for the scene. The best scene in the film IMO
Гениальная музыка. Восхищаюсь ❤️🔥
Is this the short version of whats used in the movie? I feel like there is missing something at the end (but maybe not, no sure). The part where Paul is walking toward Jessica at the entrance.
0:00 The opening on the dark sand dunes.
0:13 The gathering around the mountain.
0:20 Paul walking out of focus with worm in background.
0:32 Paul walking toward the fremen crowd.
0:41 Shot from above with Paul moving through the fremen crowd.
?:?? Approaching Jessica. I feel like this part was another shift in the song. But maybe I am mixing it up with 0:41
Also, someone knows if this scene is already up on YT? I would love to watch it again :D
PS: Am I the only one making connections between Paul moving through the crowd from above to Moses dividing the sea? But here Paul dividing what looks like a sea of sand. But instead of providing save passage for his followers, he is leading the fremen into war and the desert into a "green paradise". Like a reverse Moses. I dunno if thats a stretch but I find it cool.
This is what I need playing as Taim tells the Aes Sedai to "kneel and swear to the lord dragon or you will be knealt." after Dumai's Wells in the Lord of Chaos
Oh I get the reference. And if only we should be so lucky. :-)
There are actually a lot of similarities as well between Dune and the Wheel of Time: Aes Sedai and Bene Gesserit. The Aiel and the Fremen. "He Who Comes with the Dawn" and the "Lisan Al Ghaib." Rand and Paul both being prophesied, Messiah-like figures who come to destroy... the list goes on!
A Birth of a Tyrant, Perfect
I have a new favorite Hans Zimmer track. Seriously, his best work since The Lion King. Amazing.
and this is where people dont understand he is no hero, he brings war and devastation to the galaxy, killing billions
leto the 2nd- hold my beer
But it's entirely necessary. Without Paul or his descendants walking the Golden Path humanity literally goes extinct. In Dune the means of saving the species is horrific.
Cette scène dans le film... incroyable !
C'était le Muad'dib time
Just watched for the second time in theaters. Love hearing this when Paul rolls up in the south
This theme sounds like a lion Roaring, Paul walking through the crowd 🔥🔥🔥
I love this scene. Seeing the dark silhouette of Paul all cloaked up within the dry, gray desert is beautiful. Love how the sandworm jumping up behind him symbolizes the dark turn his character takes
Anyone who's read the book will know this part was the tipping point for Paul, and wholeheartedly I will say the final act of this film is just glorious.
My first theatrical movie,,, A pure goosebump.
I think this was the best scene in the movie! Compeletly badass!
This whole scene turned my inner Stilgar on cuz boy when Shai-Hulud erupted behind Paul i fully believed in his Jihad. What a perfect representation of the dangers of powerful personalities
