- Last time we checked, the Aerotrain museum was about to be demolished, the Cityrama bus was about to be restored, and the ghost metro of Noisy-le-Grand was about to be redeveloped. But what has happened since? I think it's about time we had some updates...

@@bigaspidistra Thank you!
The BBC News Theme is officially called Journalists' Orchestra
Thank you.
Need this under every Tim's video.
Excellent music choices as usual and I'm really jealous of those who get to see that weird metro thing before redevelopment.
First time I noticed any music at all, probably because of seeing your comment. Usually I only zone in on the spoken words. 😊
@@heliofaros1344 I highly recommend zoning into the music each time, because there's always little Easter eggs in the music choices!
That accordian cover of Apocalypse Rave is thoroughly on point.
@@hjalfi If you refer to the last bit I think it's actually the BBC news theme
@@TDOBrandanoYeah, you're right! Do you know, where can I find the music? I like it very much!
Talking about the Aerotrain. I flew into Kuala Lumpur International Airport a few weeks ago and there were signs for the Aerotrain. After getting very excited for a few moments I got to the station and saw that it was just an automated people mover getting people between the terminals. And that it was under renovation and was currently replaced by a bus service. My disappointment was immeasurable.
Airport-shuttle-replacement bus service? Was your day ruined as well?
@@vaclav_fejt You know it. But it was a low bar. I just came off a 12h flight.
Oh, I don't know. I think it could be measured in fractions of an HS2.
I've been in that shuttle twice, it's fun
Hello Tim, there's a French movie called "Le Corniaud" ("The Sucker", 1965) with Bourvil and Louis de Funès in which you can spot the Cityrama bus at 2:00, in the opening credits, just for a few seconds. These opening credits are also a good view of Paris in the 60s, for anyone interested.
Plus it's a great movie
@@rorschak47 Absolutely. A great classic.
It just occurred to me how much this channel contributes over time to urban heritage.
I would like to thank you again for your last year's video on the SK in Noisy-Le-Grand. I live not far from here and I remember like 10 years ago watching pictures about it, and thanks to you I was able to see it for real :)
really wonder why some national museum won't take them, they're amazing bits of french engineering
I never tire of naming the tunes that match the shots. They're so apt.
Jessica on piano?! Sounded appropriate. (not to mention the BBC News theme). Thanks for the updates Tim. Keep on top of them.
Fun fact, for those who may not know: that intro is a piano part in the Allman Brothers original too!
I'd like an update on whether the scoreboard at the Cierny Balog soccer ground has been fixed yet 😉
Thank you for the update! I'll admit that I haven't spent hours wondering how things are going with these, but the thought has occasionally crossed my mind, so this is very nice to know!
Thanks for the update, Tim; it's a great little recap.
Tim! I don't know if you've seen or heard, you probably have, but the Cityrama has been added to Transport Fever 2 as a vehicle option, so you can finally have your own fleet of them gliding around your city!
Wait, it has? Must be as a mod, right?
Tim, I am wondering how in your visit to the Aerotrain museum you managed to miss the rare lightweight air-cooled Corvair-powered Ultravan (the RV with the smile) parked outside? They didn't make that many to begin with and I can't imagine there are more than a handful of them in Europe.
But he wasn't there to see any of that.
@@johnladuke6475 Touché! But perhaps worthy of a video of its own...
I didn't take the-french-take-lunch-seriously seriously, until I went to a castle and it was closed for lunch.
I wonder what a castle eats for lunch 🤔
@@kaitlyn__L You know how the deepest dungeons were called oubliettes? Well, once someone had been down there long enough to be well and truly forgotten... ;)
Rocks @@kaitlyn__L
Every Tim video is a proper video. Tim is very proper. 😊👍
The perfect news channel does not exi-
The music on this channel is always fantastic
A french motor show called "Vroum" on a station that's called "France TV" sounds straight out of a cartoon. But thanks for the update!
Love this channel! Just so so good! And you do updates! What else could anyone want?
A Tim Traveller / Tom Scott video?
Edit : and a Tom Scott / Tim Traveller video 😊
@@lorenzoblum868I could swear that's already happened. 🤔... Or, maybe, it's such a good combination, it just FEELS like it's been done and I'm completely imagining it.
I appreciate that you come back to old topics and give us updates!
Thanks for the updates Tim!
Fun updates, thanks for sharing!
It probably would not quite be what the owners of the Aerotrain useum have in mind, but if all else fails, I am quite confident the Technikmuseum Sinsheim in Germany would happily give the Aerotrain at least a temporary home. Sinsheim or any other museum related by topic, actually. I am sure there are some in France as well. Like a lend for one summer as special exhibition, maybe?
Congratulations for 6 years of your RUclips channel tomorrow. 🎉
Glad this came up on my feed. I saw all three stories earlier this year. Nice to have an update
I do love how ttt stands for 2 different things
I love the accordion standing-in for the synth in the BBC News cover.
Nice Toyota Celica GT4 at 1:14, there Tim. Always nice to see them.
I tried to connect to FranceTV to see the vroum video, had to fill in a form and make up a password and French postcode only to be told that content could not be shown outside France.
A VPN like Surfshark or ExpressVPN is your friend...
Ah sorry! I guess you need one of those VPN things that other RUclipsrs keep advertising. I'll add a note to the link in the description. Thanks for letting me know.
vroum😂
Thanks so much for posting this, Tim. If I was anywhere near Europe right now, I'd be making mad-dash travel plans to see all three. But alas.
Thanks for the Normandy Classics link, following them now.
I visited the Univem stand (shared with the Musée des blindés de Saumur) at Retromobile last weekend and spoke with one of Univem's volunteers. It would appear that the museum is in discussion with the French Army about moving to new premises but that they will have to leave their current site at Versailles by the end of this year. They remain open to the public on Saturday's as per Tim's original information. The Aerotrain collection is still there at the moment but it seems that Les Amis de l'Ingenieur Jean Bertin are still to resolve their future location. If I can find out more, I will post it here
Omg i feel so lucky to have seen this. Am planing a ridiculous trip with my whole family 2boys wife and husky in env200 to toulouse. We happen to be camping in versaille on the sat sun. So i know now where we will go on saturday. Thanks Tim.
Lol, when the accordion started to play, I just had to start singing the classic "the drivers get the day off when we're all late for work again..." 😀
The music you put behind these videos keeps me highly amused :D
Is TTT News a new series? I haven't seen it before but would love to see more update videos like this. Love your videos.
Indeed the Aérotrains and all the related stuff will be safeguarded in undisclosed locations.
Thank you for the followups!
That's a shame about the Aerocars and their museum. I really hope that they can be kept together in a suitable venue. Thanks for the updates, Tim.
Thank you for the updates!
Thanks for the tip-off. I just had time to head out there and see the Mayor give a speech about the redevelopment, pull a wall down and hit it with a hammer for the photo-op ground-breaking ceremony, and then head down into Station K, before heading back to Eurostar. Just like you showed before, but I think the display panels from the exhibition were down there. I got some photos of them that I hope I can translate.
Cheers.
Interesting and intriguing as usual. I wish I could get over to France more easily.
Thanks for the updates!
So, a silly thing: "TTT" is also the abbreviation for "World Wide Web" in Latin -- "Tēla Tōtīus Terrae". 🤣😻
TTT news updates are always welcome! It’s very interesting to find out what’s happening with some of the subjects of your old videos.
Can't wait to see that bus on the road...! Thanks Tim, and everyone who contributed.
Oh, the Absolute Last, and Second “Final” Farewell Tour ‘ey?
That old chestnut 🌰
🙂🐿🌈❤️
I went to germany with my car at the beginning of september, and saw the aerotrain tracks while passing south of Paris.
It was so surprising that I almost crashed my car looking at it !
great backing music Tim !!
Thanks for this update Tim. At least there's some breathing space for the Univem collection. Let's hope that both they and the custodians of the Aerotrains eventually find a successful outcome. Thanks also for the update on the Ciityrama restoration. Looking forward to seeing this return to the road.
Nice dollop of accordion Jam!
TTT: the only newscast you can really trust!
Thank you!
Much appreciated, thank you.
Brilliant thank you
Good to hear updates and guess the music was as fun as usual. "Going underground" on the accordion was a nice touch.
Great to hear from you and the updates. Cheers.
Thank you for this update 🤗
Enjoyed the update
Thanks for the update Tim
Thank you for these timely updates, Tim! I would say that this is a proper video, what with all of the newsgathering, sountrack recording and video editing that you have to do in order to upload it for us!
They have those Cityramas in Transport Fever 2. I knew I'd seen them somewhere before 😂
Tim if you ever come to the US, please plan to visit the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania region, we have a few transit related oddities in the area. Inside Pittsburgh is a trolley/metro system, we have the Inclines which are trains that go up and down at a very steep slope, there are unused (and used) tunnels, an abandoned test automated transit system and we have a staggering number of bridges. To the south about an hour’s drive is a town/small city with a personal rapid transit system that is fully automated and was built and has been running since the 70s.
Thank you.
Great stuff, Tim. Glad to see the bus is about to begin restoration!
I would love to see the Aerotrain in the Cité du Train in Mulhouse.
Bad idea. It would probably get burned to ashes like the two other ones...
thanx for the updates. I hope the aerotrains find a good new home.
I love update videos like this! ❤
LOVE your channel. Keep up the great work.
Thanks do the last visit a month after I’ve been to Paris
Thanks Tim.
Nice with a bit of The Jam.
1:29 MENTAL 01. Pretty much sums it up.
I've been (unconsciously) wondering about these things, appreciate the info!
Thanks for the update and if it was not for you none of these things wold of happen.
Very cool! I like the idea of update-videos!
Thanks for the updates!
You're doing God's work.
Nifty video sir!
Nice to add a Tim Traveller video to my collection of BBC News Theme mixes on RUclips.
i actually have a bizarre idea to make payware assets of the Aerotrain for the game, Trainz Railroad Simulator 2019, with all income from those assets going towards the organization that owns the test trains, in an attempt to help them gain money
Good to know.
I've got no time this October, I'll visit the Pod subway in 2024.
Thanks
ttt is also the official short name for the German TV show "titel, thesen, temperamente" (titles, theses, temperaments). Though they write it in all lower case.
Thanks for the updates ^^
Ich hab noch nie was davon gehört Xd
@@lionel70975 Dann schaust du wohl zu wenig Öffis :P (Muss aber zugeben dass ich ttt selbst auch noch nie geschaut habe, kenne es nur aus Parodien)
Interesting and cool vid. I would like to see the ghost train but I live in a different Country from France and I would’ve had to request off from work two weeks ahead. I can just watch your video or another person’s video of doing that tour. I never realized that French people take lunch breaks seriously and I googled it and I like why. It also makes me think why can’t everywhere else take lunch breaks seriously like one hour instead of 30 minutes; that isn’t too much to ask.
I'm glad they got an extension but I do hope they find a new place to display the aerotrains someday. I wonder what the cityrama would look like once restored? Hope it gets showed in this channel, too. And good luck to everyone who is planning to go on that one last final visit for the ghost metro!
Go Tim! Love your shit!
Love the BBC News theme!
GOOD NEWS, EVERYONE! Also? Best Soundtrack EVAH!
Today's 'Halloooo' is short and to the point. It goes well with a single shrimp on toast.
i suddenly want to play some of The Jam.
I have nothing but the highest regard for those who restore things.... Why?.... Because without these amazing people doing what they do..... We would only have photographs.... (If we are lucky!)
Vroum!
It took me a second to work out what the pod music was haha, Ive not heard that one in a while
I really appreciate this news update style video where you have info you want to share, but each segment isn't quite enough for a full length video.
Don't be afraid for Noisy-le-grand, the sign "Ready next year" will be there a few years ! 😅
We're still waiting for Aerotrain's bigger, longer and better track 😉
Like the test pilot said to me one day, top speed was only limited by the length of the track....
The 21st of October? Like, tomorrow? I think I might be a little late to plan that trip...
