The most important part of this to be successful is if both sides are on the same page, right? What do you recommend the best way to handle it the other side continue to be argumentative?

Sometimes it’s helpful to find out what the core of the other persons objections are. Most of the time it can be worked out. If you can find out what the Genesis is of their position, but sometimes no matter your best efforts the other person just can’t seem to get past Their constipation. Then you have to decide, in my humble opinion, is it a battle worth fighting? If it is, you stick to your guns (metaphorically that is), and see if you can penetrate their resistance. Sometimes, you just have to lose a battle once in a while so that you can win in the long run.
