      Good question
      If question is asked to calculate moments through mgf, then we should calculate through mgf only. If question is calculate moments, then we can calculate by using direct method or by using mgf also.

    He has taken wrong p(x) its q^x-1 not q^x take it q^x-1 you'll get correct mean that is 1/p

      The formula of (1-x)^-2 = 1+2x+3x^2+ ......

    Your channel is very helpful to me but there is question the f(x) of Geometric dist is p(x)=q^x-1*p and mean of Geometric dist is 1/p ?
    Is i am right
